1-0 FT. Did call it - we can't beat (or even draw with) decent teams away from home. Lincoln, Grimsby, Rovers, Wrexham... it's these resutls that will cost us.

Rovers showing their strength yet again too. Not a pleasant day.

We're 17th in the league, that was only our 3rd league win in something like 17 matches...
Any ridiculous relegation fears hopefully eased, push on now.

Beaten by the better side, always going to be tough to score best their defence but we missed Palmer/Pittman today.

Jolley obviously still rusty and sounded it, and Hannah showed why he doesn't start at the end.

Probably end of the world and Hurst out on the fishy as we have lost two in a row

I think more than a shot at promotion is at stake next weekend.

If you lose, the Fishy implodes. If we lose, Only Barnet implodes. There will only be one remaining.

Only team to keep us from scoring this season though, clearly not that bad. Or maybe as I say, we can't play away lately?

I'm a bit spoilt in saying that I'd be mega disappointed with the playoffs (which have only been dreamed of by Barnet fans for the last decade) but seriously, we've fucked this promotion stuff right up.

Not Hurst out because we've lost two in a row, but he blatantly lacks any sort of creativity to win us games when we're struggling. He literally throws on a team, MAYBE makes a sub and just hopes for the best. Can't say I'm dying to hear his post-match interview.

Said it numerous times and I'll say it again, he has done absolutely nothing to suggest he's got what it takes to take us up. The only thing we're on course for is another desperate crawl into the play-offs before bowing out miserably. There's only one thing he can do to save his job and that's somehow play god and get this team ready to actually turn up in May.

Hannah misses a big chance at the death. Game over. Only came to life when we went down. Missed Palmer and Pittman. Fair play Brizzle, they deserved it by the sounds of it. I will reiterate. Do not want to have to play them in the playoff semis.

Will they be available next week?

Pittman been out for a few weeks but is training, not sure if he will be ready. Palmer took a knock against FGR and while he was a slight doubt at the start of the week he wasn't ever mentioned as not being in todays side so it was a surprise to everyone he wasn't in the side today so hopefully will be back.

FGR Down to 10...

That was the first of our 7 sendings off this season that wasn't a straight red.

Overall a decent point, definitely take it but our defending was shaky to say the least. Alty are a good side.

Not sure about throwing on a side, which of todays starting 11 would you have changed without the benefit of hindsight?

After the Eastleigh game would you have said we were only on a desperate crawl into the play-offs? just because we have lost 2 doesn't change things anymore than winning 3 changes things. Remember only Bristol and Halifax in the top 10 won today, not like we have lost a lot of ground on those around us.

That's a good enough point for us with the majority of other results going our way.

After watching that I will be amazed if Bristol Rovers do not win the league.
After the first 20 mins when we started well they completely outplayed us, we created nothing until injury time when Hannah spooned over a chance my nanna could have scored.
Had it gone in it would have been a travesty though, I've seen us v the top 3 now and no question, Rovers far and away the best.
(even though in the build up to their goal the ball went a foot out of play)! ;) ;)

Hands up if you follow a team in the top 10 and you won today.

Oh hello Bristol, nice to see you. Anybody else? No?

Excellent Saturday.

It doesn't matter what happens in the space of two or three games though. We're not and haven't been consistent enough to mount any sort of threat for two season. Winning 4 or 5 games means nothing when you know for a fact a poor spell is coming up. You can knock on the moaners all you like for being delusional after 2 losses but thinking we're fine after 2 wins is exactly the same.

As long as we finish 4th again and lose in the play-offs, at least we're not doing any worse than before, right?

My tune doesn't change after 2 wins though I've said all along we will finish top 5 and that stance remains after 2 losses or 3 wins or whatever

Absolutely superb! Was hoping to get some sleep on the coach but I'm buzzing from that! Grimsby started much stronger and fair to say we're all over us. We worked our way back into the game and took control.

The pen? Not a clue! Looked 50/50 to me but I was the other side of the pitch - even still if it's a pen, surely it's a red card?

2nd half we were very good, apart from the end, I don't think Grimsby had any real goal scoring chances. Don't get me wrong, Grimsby are a hell of a lot better than most teams I've seen this season, they put pressure on and against a lower team, they would crumble. Fair play to Grimsby fans throughout the first half - behind the goal, sung the entire half, ok with a drum but fair play.

Think as fans we did ourselves proud on noise - the goal was a bit flukey as I think it took a deflection but it was certainly deserved. With today's other results, it get interesting!

Can we play Barnet every week?

Let's be honest they did everything bar score, Coughlin being MOTM really said it all. Akinde spent the game barging into and generally fouling people and the ref booked him for I'm assuming persistent fouling and then he dived, simple as that and he knew it. Surprised the ref was strong enough to apply the rules then considering their manager and the amount of time that was left. I think our players were generally on the lookout for Akinde falling around near the box and gave him space most of the time, not diving in. He missed a chance clean through that I was resigned to ending up in the net. Saying that, they could have had a another red for the sub who came on and got booked straight away then a minute later did the same and was let off. And we could have given away maybe 2 penalties for handballs in the first half.

Barnet threw everything at us and we were hanging on for the last 20 mins or so really, they will still win the league. Ridiculous how attacking they were, even with 10 men and in hindsight we should have killed it off on one of our counter attacks. Draw would have been a fair result but it's safe to say we were due a win, the game raising bastards that we are.

Great first half, Not bad 2nd, Credit to Barnet they played very well with 10 men, they missed to 1 on 1's (Well Coughlin made 2 great saves) we should of had a few on the counter in the 2nd half but great 3 points

Double over Barnet 2 1-0 wins, Rob Evans scoring again

As for the Barnet Akinde red card, can't remember the first yellow tbh but 2nd did looked a dive from where I was

Kudos for going all the way up there Gassy, heard the Rovers fans at points on the radio!

Genuine question, do you think we have what it takes to win the play-offs (ignoring the fact it's basically a lottery)? And if we don't, regardless of who would replace him, should Hurst stay or go? I'd give my answers for context but I think you already know. I'm just seeing absolutely zero difference to the previous two seasons. We start to look like we might have a chance but then at this time of the season we start collapsing. I know we've had two tough games and another one next week, but losing them definitely doesn't do any good for confidence.

On a side note, Andy Cook's scoring spree ended today. It's all gone tits up.

Yes why can't we? with the exception of Bristol we have already beaten every other side in the top 10 this season, no reason to think we can't win over two legs against anyone or at Wembley, just have to turn up at the time. We are a conference side with conference players sometimes they don't turn up just like every other side in the league.

If we don't go up this season yes I think it will be the right time to get rid of Hurst. We only have one player under contract next season it will be the perfect time to get someone new in and build their own side. However whoever we get I still don't think we will be certain for the title or even promotion anymore than with Hurst unless Fenty suddenly gets desperate and throws loads more money at it.

It's amazing how many sides 'have their day' at this level and struggle massively on others - true for all the teams in the league in fact. Play-offs will literally be determined by which team 'turns up' for three games.

We're such a shit little club - every time there's a reasonable crowd (4.5K today), we throw in a thunderturd of a "performance".

Be surprised if I summoned the motivation to go more than once or twice now for the rest of the season. Back to 15th-18th place next season as well for well-documented reasons.

Noisiest fans I have heard here all season (i missed the Lincoln game but I guess they were too), you did go a bit quiet when the pen hit the post though....... ;) ;)
Was surprised when announced at 326 as it looked and sounded like more.
Pray to god we don't have you back here for the play offs or we are seriously screwed... :(

A very good game today. We dominated in the first half and Barnet in the second even when they had ten men. I thought Tomassen put in a great performance with 4-2-3-1 formation working nicely. Though Moult seemed a little reluctant to shoot, he did manage to set up the goal with some nice control of the ball.

It's just a pity that we've managed to get such a great result against a top team when we've blown away any chance of the play-offs.

Dissapointing day all round. We have conceded two poor goals and Hawley wasted a golden chance to grab a point. Massive OG at the end of the Telford Dartford game which has meant Telford are gone and Dartford have hope.

Then a massive last minute pen for Aldershot has given they some breathing space. The biggest game of the season down the bottom on Saturday at the Impact. So much riding on the result for both teams.

Moult was great in the first half but to me he doesn't look in the best of fitness. Seems a bit sluggish compared to how he was playing at the start of the season. Like the look of Morris, he's got the definition of a 'cultured left foot'.

Disappointing not to win, but it's an away point and every point is useful.

Really tightens it all up, going to be an interesting March.

1-1 was a fair score, both teams had plenty of chances and both teams finishing was poor. We've finally got someone who can hit the back of the net which is an advantage.

Edit- The ref had a good first half but then at half time decided that heading was banned and was calling free kicks constantly for attackers winning headers
