In to the top half we go, surprisingly comfortable win today. Other than for maybe several minutes at the end Worsnop had a quiet afternoon.

Lincoln's discipline on the pitch is really poor, nothing major but it's no surprise the cards are always out of the ref's pocket.

Their is a huge chasm between the bottom 6 and everyone isnt there this year? Especially if Braintree/Wrexham pick up points in their games in hand. It could be a high total for 15th place this year. Especially as 54 Points got us 15th in 2011/12 just 8 more than Torquay have now!

You've got more yellow cards than us this season. We're about average for that on the yellow card count.

My friends who went were amazed Heneghan was shown a red for you after he hauled Burrow down while he already on a yellow.
O well the winning run is over at home, see you next season as neither of us will go anywhere I fear.

1-1 was a fair score, both teams had plenty of chances and both teams finishing was poor. We've finally got someone who can hit the back of the net which is an advantage.

Edit- The ref had a good first half but then at half time decided that heading was banned and was calling free kicks constantly for attackers winning headers

The ref was a very strange one. Almost as if he felt he hadn't been noticed enough in the first half so had to be seen to be doing something. Fair point but doesn't help either of us.

Would be surprised if we finished top half now.

Horrible performance but don't care now, all about points, and we got the three. Welling are a changed side from when played them in December, played some nice football and Vose was quality for them. They will be fine once they gel.

Agree, the performance today was totally irrelevant. I will take a win like that over playing well and losing any day! I would also like to thank the Welling player for making the suicidal decision to clumsily run into Gibbs in the 90th minute when he was going nowhere in the penalty area with his back to goal.

Another big game for us at Alfreton next week, although with the results today a draw wouldn't be a disaster!

Think the terrible away form finally caught up with us as we've been lucky at home the last couple times to win.
Time for the management team to earn their corn and get the players back on it or the last 12 games are going to be very hard work indeed

Just got back home and I am still delighted with our result today. We were solid and created enough opportunities to deservedly win the game. Every single player did their job and can be proud of their performance, because we have gone away to a very difficult side and beat them pretty comfortably.

On the penalty incident... it wasn't a penalty as far as I could see. I was surprised the ref gave it but then as soon as he did McKeown HAD to be sent off, no question about it. If you award the foul then, as the last man, the goalie has to be shown a red card. Unfortunately the useless officials bottled it, although I'm sure Grimsby fans will say it was justice!

A relatively decent atmosphere inside BP and the 340-odd(?) Gasheads made a racket all afternoon. The noise made by the home fans was pretty loud after the penalty miss in a bid to rouse their team, but it wasn't kept up in the second period. What is it with so many clubs at this level have drums? It sounds so plastic and the vast majority of people don't like it - I just don't understand the attraction.

Anyway, a great win and we are back in the automatic promotion hunt... I think. Two huge home games coming up in the next 10 days, which hopefully we can take advantage of. Well done Gas!

Just got home and I've read right through this thread and there aren't many comments by Lincoln fans about today's match which just about sums up how poor they were. We weren't unsettled by Lincoln's alehouse tactics and it was very comfortable in the end. Annoyed that we didn't finish the game earlier.

Seems yesterday was just more proof we are once again not good enough. No real surprises there, 4 losses in 6 is shite however you look at it. Even more so when your negative clown of a manager see's it as a decent result given that other sides lost and this one is 'out the way'

This is the guy in charge of motivating our players.

A manager should never be saying a home defeat to a promotion rival is a "decent result" :dk:

I said a few weeks back that people talk about that little bit of quality at the top of the table winning points but it happens in mid-table games, too.

I look back to the Dartford game and then the Dover one a couple of weeks ago with Newton popping up with a trademark delivery to give us a 1-0 win. Not got that anymore.

Probably because most of us on here are exiles or can't get to many games due to work commitments.

Yesterday was first home Saturday I've missed since we lost to Bristol Rovers in September.
I had something very important to do.

Congratulations from the West Country!

There is still plenty of time to leg it before the wedding, if you get cold feet!

Commiserations. Along with supporting Lincoln, you now have an additional lifelong misery to contend with ;)

Before the FGR game we had won 3 on the bounce so we can't have lost 4 out of 6...!?
