A depleted league 1 fixture list due to international

14th Nov
Bristol Rovers vs Fleetwood
Crewe vs Peterborough
Hull vs Burton
Northampton vs Accrington
Shrewsbury vs Swindon
Sunderland vs MK Dons

16th Nov
Plymouth vs Portsmouth

Tough game for us this weekend, guessing we’re missing Jaaskalienen due to internationals which is a big loss. I think we will give Posh a good game but they will probably too much fire power for us.

We'll likely have quite a few regulars missing for the trip to Argyle, so I'd be very happy with a point.

I'll put the kiss of death on this and predict quite a few goals. At least we'll be spared the Derek Adams circus this time. I can get back to quite liking Plymouth again.

We’re actually pretty good at this football malarkey. 2-0 probably flatters posh. Yet another footballing lesson given here.

Credit to both teams playing in at times horrendous conditions. A professional performance from Fleetwood well worth the 3 points. Callum Camps has got to be the best signing of the summer, another 2 goals, one a fantastic free kick the 2nd - well was is it a cross or a clever floated shot ? The Gas went for it after the break and it was resolute defending that saw us through ans uncomfortable spell.
Delighted for Accy getting 3 points in their first game for yonks !

Burton were looking in trouble before the start of the season but even more so now. I'm sure all they do is concede two goals plus in every away game. With an average squad age of 30, three games a week is going to leave them quite depleted at times.

We were awful in the first half, absolutely terrible. If you were 4-0 up I wouldn’t have complained tbh.

2nd half we looked better but not clinical enough, as usual. Completely deserved your 3 points in the end.

We weren’t helped with our GK on Finland duty, fairly confident 3 of those goals wouldn’t have gone in if he was playing

Crewe mullered us...fair play to them. Our midfield have been bossing teams this season physically. Crewe took that out of the equation by ensuring their passing game never let us get near the ball !!!

Can't complain though, we are still top.

Thankfully we had our shooting boots on yesterday. Thoroughly deserved win. Really should have been our 3rd league win on the bounce which would have put us in touching distance of the play offs. We now have the joint 2nd best defensive record in the league, but also the joint 2nd worst offensive record. If we can find it in the budget for a goal scorer in January (doubtful) we have a chance of being up there. I’ve not seen many better defenses or midfields than ours.

I’m not sure where a goal scorer would fit in. Mandron has done superb, his work rate and hold up play are massive assets at this level. And his goal return hasn’t been too bad, he’s not been the one missing the chances either to be fair. And we’re not going to replace the wide attackers. Zanzala is probably more of a traditional goal scorer but he can’t get in the team.

We played really well yesterday and got our rewards finally. Peterborough are obviously a very good team although they were probably a little bit below their best. In the first half, we completely outclassed them and then after half-time we defended calmly and kept them at an arm's length.

Another pathetic performance, insipid hoofball and Accrington fully deserved to win by more than the 1 goal. The worst thing is Curle thinks it was relatively even and we just lacked a bit of quality.

If we lose next week against Burton with their Coronavirus depleted squad I’ll be joining the Curle out brigade.

Think you will find Peterborough have struggled against footballing sides this season. Lack of mobility when not in possession

When was Accrington’s last game, I assumed they might have been rusty? Obviously not.

Mandron has missed a number of chances this season. He also doesn’t have the knack of being in the right place at the right time. I like him, but he won’t score many goals. He has 3 in 10 league games, but hasn’t scored in I think 5 or 6 league games now? I’m not talking about an Eoin Doyle type, who doesn’t do anything else apart from score. Somebody who can do parts of Mandron’s game yet take some of the chances that he doesn’t. There are plenty of goal scorers that have a decent all round game. And let’s face it, Zanzala and Porter aren’t getting a look in so Mandron needs someone to alternate with. I’m sure there is a Prem u23 that we could take a punt on. Otherwise we will carry on being inconsistent, with great wins like yesterday mixed with games like Gillingham where our finishing was awful. Mandron is clearly needed for some games, but we didn’t need a big man against Gillingham, or Ipswich for that matter. And with the games coming up after next weekend, we have a great set of fixtures where we can expect lots of the ball, which could make a target man completely redundant.

Maybe it’s my memory I can only remember 3 decent chances where he hasn’t scored, 2 vs Charlton fantastic save and crossbar and one vs Gillingham, hit the post. He’s not going to score 20 + goals a season, but I can see him getting close to 15 which would be a good return as we potentially have goals throughout our team. I would agree he’s been a yard or two short when balls have been played across goal, something he obviously needs improve on, and adapt too just as Porter had too.

Home vs Portsmouth tonight on Sky. Should be a good contest! We're without Jephcott but believe they're without Curtis - both due to international callups.

I got 50% of the statement correct!!

To be perfectly honest Sam Ricketts should be ashamed of himself and his tactics. 3-1 up and they just let us have possession of the football, which is where we are at our best, and the last minute equaliser probably just about deserved.

We are shocking defensively so why not go for the jugular?

Anyway, happy to have got the point.

We've huffed and puffed but not created much. Gone back to 4-3-3 even though Marquis has shown time and time again that he can't play as a lone central striker and only comes good in a front two.

Argyle look much more incisive than us and we're probably lucky to only be one down.

We should have buried it first half and gone in 3 up. Thought we generally controlled the game aside from a crazy 20 minutes and should have won. We seem to slack after half time. Superb bit of last ditch defending by Pring to block Hardie on the line.

Might aswell add tonight’s matches onto this thread

Oxford vs Crewe
Swindon vs Accrington

3rd time lucky are Oxford. Got a feeling both teams will be extra up for this one, as they both blame each other for previous postponements and there is now a little needle between the two clubs. We should be confident off the back of a good win on Saturday vs the league leaders, so I’d expect an unchanged team. It will be tougher than the league table suggests for both teams as statistically we are the two clubs that have had the toughest starts and n league one.

i will go for an entertaining draw 2-2.
