Right, I ran through the basics of this in the forum games schedule thread and with NOTW II nearing an end any day now I thought it's about time I got this thread up to see what sort of numbers are interested in taking part in this game.
A reminder of the basics (copy and pasted from the other thread):
1FF: The Hunger Games
(Or 1FF: Battle Royale, if you're one of those "the hunger games copied battle royale!!1!one!" nerds)
Basically, if you know what The Hunger games or Battle Royale is, you'll get the basic premise. In short, you're all going to kill each other until one of you is left standing.
FEATURES!
RPG style stats and boring stuff!
Before you step into the arena, engage in training exercises to increase your stats and increase your chances of survival!
Then we let the games begin!
I have designed a fully fledged map that will be used for this game!
Move around it to avoid other players, hunt, gather supplies and survive!
I have a list of weapons and items for you to collect to help you survive!
Lots of unfair deaths caused by nothing more than bad luck!
Only ONE will survive, who will it be?!
Them's the basics. But to go into more detail, this is how the game will work:
You each have stats. These are:
Speed
Strength
Fighting Skills
Hunting skills
Endurance
To start with, there will be a few minigames to boost these stats and increase your chances of survival once the hunger games start for real. This will be the training portion of the game. Once this is over, we enter the arena... this arena:
TADA!
For an idea of what the fuck is actually going on there...
The thing that looks like a path running through it is a river. You will need to use this to collect water to drink. The bottom right is the mountainous region. The bottom left has a small swamp. The top left is a dense forest. And in the top right, we have a volcano. All of these regions will have their own shit going on. But each day, you will move around this map, collecting weapons, hunting for food and generally trying to survive. Your location will be known only to you (unless you want to advertise your position publicly in the thread)... But if two people land of the same square, that's when the fighting begins!
Oh, and the square in the middle in H6? That's the cornucopia... that's where a lot of good shit is, but you can be sure that a lot of people will be around that area. Will you risk going there?
That's a basic overview. It obviously gets a bit more complicated, but like with TFF Wars I will introduce each new concept slowly, as they become relevant, rather than just throwing a massive wall of text at you in one big go.
Also, like TFF Wars, this is obviously a brand new concept and I have no idea how easy or difficult it is going to be to run. My guess is that it's going to be an absolute bitch. With this in mind... can I ask that you only sign up if you're actually going to be around for it and active for it? For each person that signs up and just forgets about it, it'll just add a lot more work to everything I have to do and slow the entire thing down.
This will work with like 8 people, and it will also work with about 30. There are no limits on either end to how many people I am willing to have take part. Due to the amount of work I reckon this is going to take from me though, I simply ask that you're willing to commit to it if you do sign up.
This could get going as soon as Sunday or Monday. I'll look to set a proper deadline for sign ups once NOTW II is actually over.
So... who will be our tributes?
