For the record, NHL Hitz 03 was a fucking awesome game, made even more awesome by its awesome soundtrack featuring awesome songs like Hockey Monkey. It is actually one of my favourite sports game ever.

After the results of the very important endurance training, the game makers continue to have Ciderhead as the favourite with Veggie in second place.
They're undecided who is in third, with Hodge, Cardsfan and Paul Haddock impressing them equally, all three of them doing very well in recent training and really climbing up the ladder.
Next up is Murphy, with Last Request behind, slipping down in their estimations after failing to impress with his endurance.
Stagat follows as somebody who still stands a good chance, with Natch slightly behind him.
IanH, JJH, Magic, Elmo and Bottega Don are seen as being ok, but the game makers estimate that the strength of the pack leaders will be too much for them so a win is unlikely.
Harv and Spirederman fall slightly behind them, with THOD being the only other person in the game of any note. The game makers predict that the rest of the tributes will be dead after a couple of days as they have fallen too far behind now to pose any realistic threat to the pack leaders.

The hunting training deadline is in just over 4 hours.

For the record... once the hunting training results are in, this will be the end of your training.

Tomorrow... you enter the arena. And only one of you is coming out.

I had honestly hoped that everybody would get their hunting training PM's in a fair bit before the deadline due to how long it was... then I could at least work out how many people have selected each number and work this thing out in advance, because it's going to take a lot of work to figure it out and I see a high chance of FARCE occurring.

But I can reveal that I am currently waiting on 8 responses. Some of these are from people who have been taking part a fair bit, but others among these 8 are people who I've barely seen around.

I've asked some people if they actually do intend to take part in this... I mean, fair enough, people can be busy, but all these days without a response doesn't exactly scream enthusiasm, and considering the fact that I have to monitor and update everybodies hunger/thirst and what not it means that I'm just going to end up having to do a fair bit of work for people who aren't even interested. Which is obviously not great for me, but it also sucks for the people who are showing enthusiasm for this because it's going to slow the game down a lot.

So as I've said... if you're not looking to commit to this, it really is best for everybody that people let me know so I can drop you out of this.

Hopefully I'll get some responses soon. As I said, I get that people can be busy, or may not understand the rules, so it's not necessarily just down to people just not being arsed.

Question.

Will the deadlines from here on be a bit more work-friendly? Cause if they'll continue to be 4/5pm, I'll drop out as you'll be updating stats for me when I won't be around to play.

A good question and a valid point.

As this hunting thing tonight is the last day of training, the actual Hunger Games will be starting for real tomorrow. So moving forward, without going into the exact details of how the game will work quite yet, the game will simply be a matter of needing to PM me a response before a deadline that will usually be set around 24 hours in advance.

Basically, you'll be wherever you are in the game map and just need to PM me where you want to go next, or if you want to eat/drink or whatever.

You won't actually have to be around at all for the actual deadline itself, you'll just need to be around about once per day at some point before the deadline. And that's only if you actually want to do something that day, in fact it'll actually be necessary at times to not make any actions on a day, so the odd day missed here and there won't screw you over.

TomPNE becomes the 6th (I think) person to pull out!

He was honest and said he's not been around much as of late, so probably wouldn't take part all that much. I had noticed that he'd been considerably quieter in this than he usually is.

25 remain to enter the arena tomorrow

Right, these four:

IanH
Posh Hammer
MSB92
Roversfan

Somehow managed to not reply in the several days they were given. So they all fail the task and are given a -3 to their hunting skill. This will make it incredibly difficult for them to kill any animals they may encounter.

And I really do have to ask, do you guys even want to be taking part in this?

To be fair, I've at least seen Ian around a bit and he did well on the strength training. I've seen very little or none of the rest of you, though, at least that I can remember.

As for the rest of you... let's get going with the results of the hunting training

Wait a fucking minute, my above post about how the forum managed to die EXACTLY on my deadline of 11pm has disappeared... great. The forum had better not be pulling any of it's disappearing posts shit while I'm doing this.

Pressing on...

First off, we'll look at those ambitious fuckers who went for the top score, with 100. There were.... 4 of you, so you each get 25 points each.
Hodge: 25
Ciderhead: 25
Veggie: 25
SUTSS: 25

Next up, who went for that one away from the top? Ambitious, but not quite all the way? We had... 3 of you, sharing 33 points each.
Ciderhead: 33
SUTSS: 33
Stagat: 33

98 points... only two people went for it, sharing a generous 49 points each!
Ciderhead: 49
SUTSS: 49

As we can see, both Ciderhead and SUTSS had the method of going all out and just going for the top scores, damn the consequences!
So how are the totals looking so far, then?

Ciderhead: 107 (0)
SUTSS: 107 (0)
Stagat: 33 (2)
Hodge: 25 (2)
Veggie: 25 (2)

The number in brackets indicates how many shots they have left. So while Ciderhead and SUTSS lead, it is out of their hands... but so far, it suggests that you need an average of about 35/36 points per arrow to win this thing.

97 points... nobody at all went for it! If one single person had gone for it, they'd have instantly put themselves only 10 points behind the leaders!

96 points... same again! Incredibly, 97 and 96 did not manage to attract a single arrow. Think... if you'd gone for both of those, you'd be absolutely made already.

We've had two in a row with no hits... will we get 3?

No, 95 has been targeted...

But only by Veggie Legs! He gains 95 points all to himself!
Veggie: 95

94 had more than one... but it was only split in half between THOD and Cardsfan.
THOD: 47
Cards: 47

93 gained one more again, with Cards, Bottega Don and JJH all going for it.
Cards: 31
BDon: 31
JJH: 31

But 92 lost one person targeting it, with only two.
Hodge: 46
JJH: 46

It's about time to get another look at the overall table!

Veggie: 120 (1)
Ciderhead: 107 (0)
SUTSS: 107 (0)
Cards: 78 (1)
JJH: 77 (1)
Hodge: 71 (1)
THOD: 47 (2)
Stagat: 33 (2)
BDon: 31 (2)

Veggie storms to the top, with still an arrow to play, meaning that the best Cider and SUTSS can hope for is a joint 2nd...

A new contender approaches! With RKP's first shot he is the lone reaper of 91 points!
RKP: 91

90 is shared between two people, which isn't too bad.
MagpieBee: 45
Magic: 45

89 does the same.
BDon: 44
JJH: 44

And then 88...

Is once again targeted by just Veggie! He must surely have this thing sewn the fuck up. The rest of you are already playing for second here, surely? It looks like it's going to be yet another great training session for Veggie.
88: Veggie.

87, randomly, seems to be a super popular number, with an incredible FIVE tributes aiming for it, meaning that they share a measley 17 points each.
Hodge: 17
THOD: 17
Elmo: 17
BDon: 17
Don Ton: 17

Another look at that overall ranking...

Veggie: 208 (0)
JJH: 121 (0)
Ciderhead: 107 (0)
SUTSS: 107 (0)
BDon: 92 (0)
Hodge: 91 (0)
RKP: 91 (2)
Cards: 78 (1)
THOD: 64 (1)
MagpieBee: 45 (2)
Magic: 45 (2)
Stagat: 33 (2)
Mr Elmo: 17 (2)
Don Tonberry: 17 (2)

Anybody on it twice this time for fuck sake?

You need an average of about 70 per arrow now to touch Veggie. RKP is actually on target for that, though...

86 was again quite popular and shared between four.
THOD: 21
Haddock: 21
Cards: 21
Stagat: 21

85, however, was not all that popular at all, with one person grabbing all the points!
Aberstone: 85

84 wasn't too bad, but not good enough to beat Veggie at this rate, and shared between two.
DonTon: 42
Stagat: 42

83 though, once again, was all claimed by one man!
Spirederman: 83

These low 80's continued to be elusive, as 82 was shared between just two.
Haddock: 41
Murphy: 41

And then 81 was, again, all claimed by one man.
DonTon: 81

So lets see how we shape up after that...

1st: Veggie: 208 (0)
2nd: Don Tonberry: 140 (0)
3rd: JJH: 121 (0)
4th: Ciderhead: 107 (0)
4th: SUTSS: 107 (0)
5th: Cards: 99 (0)
Stagat: 96 (0)
BDon: 92 (0)
Hodge: 91 (0)
RKP: 91 (2)
Aberstone: 85 (2)
THOD: 85 (0)
Spirederman: 83 (2)
Haddock: 62 (1)
MagpieBee: 45 (2)
Magic: 45 (2)
Murphy: 41 (2)
Mr Elmo: 17 (2)

Don Tonberry managed to get lucky with that 81, more than doubling his points he'd earned with the first two arrows and fires straight into 2nd place.

RKP, Aber and Spiredey all have a great shot at this though with very good first arrows.

Looking at the latest table, Stagat, Bdon, Hodge and THOD have fired all of their arrows and are not on the podium finishing places. I've removed them from the table to keep it simpler for me and easier to read.

1st: Veggie: 208 (0)
2nd: Don Tonberry: 140 (0)
3rd: JJH: 121 (0)
4th: Ciderhead: 107 (0)
4th: SUTSS: 107 (0)
5th: Cards: 99 (0)
RKP: 91 (2)
Aberstone: 85 (2)
Spirederman: 83 (2)
Haddock: 62 (1)
MagpieBee: 45 (2)
Magic: 45 (2)
Murphy: 41 (2)
Mr Elmo: 17 (2)

80 is shared by 3
Magpiebee: 26
Magic: 26
Aberstone: 26

79 is shared by 2
Haddock: 39
Harv: 39

78 is... claimed by one person, who makes a great start!
LR: 78

77 is... also claimed by one person!
Harv: 77

76 is... not claimed by one person, as two people share it.
Spiredey: 38
Murphy: 38

75 is... claimed by one person again! Harv has done incredible here! Is it enough to dethrone Veggie?!
Harv: 75

As is 74, and it's Aber who must surely have sealed a great finish!
Aberstone: 74

Time to see that table!

1st: Veggie: 208 (0)
2) Harv: 191 (0)
3) Aberstone: 185 (0)
4) Don Tonberry: 140 (0)
5) Spirederman: 121 (1)
RKP: 91 (2)
Murphy: 79 (1)
LR: 78 (2)
Magic: 71 (1)
MagpieBee: 71 (1)
Mr Elmo: 17 (2)

Haddock falls out of contention on 101 and Ciderhead and SUTSS, our early pace setters, also fall away on 107. Cards on 99 also falls away. Also, although JJH is on 121 with Spirederman, Spiredey still has one arrow to fire, so JJH cannot possibly finish in the top 5.

And the rest of these results...

Are to come tomorrow:hesk:

Because I've got work early tomorrow and need to go to bed.

Can Veggie hold that top spot? Can Spiredey, already sitting in 5th, really cement himself a nice place in that top 5? After a great first arrow, will the likes of LR and RKP be able to push their way into the top dogs, or will it all collapse?

With each passing arrow, the potential for scoring gets lower and lower.

OH THE EXCITEMENT.
