OP is now updated (as always, check it to make sure it's all right!) and we've had our first few people drop into the dreaded area of having 20 for hunger and thirst... having 20 drops your fighting skill down to half, so having it in both categories completely removes your ability to fight.

The advice to these people would be to seek out water first and then, once you've had a drink, hope to come across an animal to eat and regain your fighting skill. Otherwise, these people will be easy pickings for the rest.

Most notable, Murphy who is our best equipped man in the arena right now with his sword and body armour, is suffering from low health and thirst. If there was a time to weaken him, it'd be now!

Deadline for this next game day will be 7pm tomorrow, so just under 24 hours!

Right, I'm not sure if I ever actually got to post this, but that flaming ember from the volcano landed in A0, and then a fire spread to the south, all the way down to A5. Those squares are burning without let up, so entering them will lose you 1hp.

However, in the lastest day, the first has continued to spread! All of column A has now been burned down! A rabbit, a rat, 3 bullets, an alarm space, a pig, a pigeon and a deer were destroyed by the fire!

Column A is now not accessible without taking 1hp of damage!

Also, the fire rages in A0... and the fire also spreads to B0! The wind around that area is blowing slightly to the south... I wouldn't recommend being south of B0 right now!

Hm, this fire is spreading far too conveniently for it to be spreading naturally. It seems that the game makers are trying to make the arena smaller to force more conflicts, cutting it apart systematically...

Bare in mind, I've not read the PM's yet. If anybody has tried to move into a newly burning square (A6-13 or B0), they will not do so on this occasion.

LR hunts his rat... and unbelievably, he actually fails. He didn't get hurt in doing so, but the little bastard got away.

Hodge aims his arrow at a rat... and hits it! He just got himself a tasty meal. Hodge gains: Rat (20 food, 10)

Stagat hunts a deer with his bare hands... and is successful! He gains: Deer (70 food, 50)

The rest coming later... but I can tell you this...

The game makers set off that volanco and have been manipulating that fire to try to increase conflicts in the arena. It seems to have worked... we have THREE fights today!

Bloody hell, Murphy already seems to have everything fucking going, now he's half way to gaining a fully functioning gun... however, he doesn't have much room in his inventory and still badly needs food. Even if he found food... could he carry it? It's have to be something very small. Perhaps it's time to start thinking about which items to drop...

This is like a proper fucking boxing/wrestling card this is. We have:

Spirederman (4, 3hp) vs Harv (7, 3hp)

Stagat (4, 3hp) vs Mr Elmo (5, 2hp) in some district 4 on district 4 action!

But first... Haddock successfully hunts his Rabbit with a throwing knife! He gains: Rabbit (50 food, 20)

THOD easily manages to bring down his buck. He gains: Buck (80 food, 70). With a good source of food and his crossbow, THOD is now looking like he may be the man to beat in the arena.

Ciderhead (6, 2hp) vs Aberstone (3, 3hp)
Aberstone tries shooting his tin of peaches at Ciderhead with his bow, but it's a wild shot and doesn't quite hit the mark. Ciderhead gives him a good kicking, but Aberstone is able to quickly gather up his tin of peaches before getting out of there, a bit battered and bloody. Ciderhead wins the square, Aberstone takes 1hp of damage.

Spirederman (4, 3hp) vs Harv (7, 3hp)
This is incredible. Harv just said that he and Spired won't ever fight and... as if they control the very dice rolls themselves, they each scored a 1. It's a tie, and they both retreat to their previous locations without taking damage

Stagat (4, 3hp) vs Mr Elmo (5, 2hp)
While the previous two managed to work things out peacefully, it seems that both hailing from the same district was not enough to keep the peace between Stagat and Mr Elmo. Elmo looks to have the advantage with his spear, but his lack of energy due to not eating seems to affect him more than it affects a similarly underfed Stagat. Stagat is able to dodge the dangerous spear, and gives Elmo a good kick to the knee that shatters it. Elmo is just about able to limp away... but he's in serious trouble here.
Stagat controls the square, Mr Elmo is down to his last hit point!

OP has been updated with the latest hunger/thirst hits for the next day.

We now have SEVEN people on 10 for hunger and thirst...

Which means that unless all seven of these people are able to eat or drink on this next day... we're about to find out what happens when somebody completely runs out of both. I haven't actually said what it'll do to you yet... though you can probably guess.

The grim reaper looks set for a busy day...

So after 3 fights yesterday, today we have... none at all.

Here's what shit went down:

Can of beans. (5, +50 food, +20 thirst must use a weapon or a can opener)

Last Request finds:
Deer (2BR, +70 food, 50) to hunt!

Natch finds:
Net (0, 50, single use. When you lose a battle, this can be used to escape unharmed)

Hodge finds:
Mace (6, 80, none)
And a Rhinosaurus (15BR, +120 food, 100) to hunt!

Harv finds:
Rhinosaurus (15BR, +120 food, 100) to hunt!

That night, as the tributes are all nestled snugly in their trees they are woken by cannon fire...

The following faces are projected onto the walls of the arena for all to see:

Six tributes have died today due to starvation! Most of these because they just did not get moving around fast enough (I checked some of the PM's, some of these had moved like only once or not at all...) but others, like JJH, not through lack of trying, just could not get to food or water quick enough.

Now we see the dangers if you completely fail to keep yourself fed and watered... six players are gone in one day!

All items that these people may have had are dropped in their location where they died.

17 tributes still remain, there is a long way to go yet!

As for that fire that has spread to B0... it blows south. The following squares are now on fire:

A very strong, almost hurricane level, southerly wind is blowing. Anybody in column B needs to get the hell out of there now!

As the new day begins, a voice echos through out the arena!

"Feeling hungry tributes? It looks like some of you certainly are, especially those six who we lost last night!

So we thought it's about time we fed you!

For today only, step onto one of our magical teleporting pads to find a feast waiting for you!

Of course, nothing comes cheap here in the Hunger Games... you're going to have to earn it..."

During this next game day, you have a chance to get some extra food!

In your PM's, you can say that you want to step onto a teleporting platform. These platforms will take you to one of the following six rooms at random:

Room 1: Steak and chips! A nicely cooked steak cooked to perfection by our finest chefs in the capitol! This delicious meal will restore 50 hunger!

Room 2: Rotten steak! While it'll restore 50 hunger like the previous steak, this one will also leave you feeling ill. You will not be able to move for one day, and should anybody happen to find you, you will put up no resistance to them in a fight!

Room 3: Nothing! Sorry, this room is empty!

Room 4: All you can eat buffet. This is the one you want if it's food you're after! This will fill your hunger to the brim, and then some! This will, as a one off, put you on 150 for hunger!

Room 5: A potato. Not quite what you're after, I'm sure, but hey, it's something. Restores 20 hunger.

Room 6: Bucket of friend chicken. This is for the fat bastard in us all. Full of calories, this will put you right back up onto 100 health.

The catch here? You won't know which room you're going to until you're there. And if anybody else should end up in that room with you... well, I guess you'll have to fight over it, won't you!

And yes, you can move in the arena and step onto a platform on the same day.

First, the finds:

Right, a reminder of what people may come across in those rooms:

Room 1: Steak and chips (+50 hunger)

I realized that not only did I call it "friend chicken", I also said it puts you on 100 health... I think 100 hp would be a bit insane But yeah, I did mean to say 100 hunger.

Right, let's see who ended up where. And to keep it exciting... the order that I reveal who's ended up in each room will not necessarily be the order as displayed above You won't know what you're fighting for until the fight is over...

So for the first room... we have a table absolutely covered in more food than anybody could possibly eat. This is the all you can eat buffet, the main prize!

And... nobody shows up Unfortunately, nobody has been taken to this room, so the food goes to waste. If just one person had ended up here, they'd have eased their way to a massive meal.

As for the next room, there is a table with a covered dish on it... And Aberstone shows up! He checks for anybody else and after nobody shows up, he heads to the table... when he hears a loud pop! He turns around, and Don Tonberry has joined him!

Aberstone (2, 2hp) vs Don Tonberry (3, 2hp).

Don has a lead pipe, but his severe hunger holds him back here, though he still has the advantage.

Both are absolutely desperate for food. Don swings wildly hoping to twat Aber upside the head with his lead pipe, but isn't able to register a solid hit. Aberstone dodges and lands a blow to Dons stomach that winds him. Aberstone takes him down and pummels on Don a bit, causing serious damage to his face. Don Tonberry is able to scramble away and get back to the teleporting platform, abandoning the food but leaving with his life. Don loses 1hp and Aberstone takes the food! But what is it...?

As Aberstone approaches, the smell gets stronger... and it's not good. It's the rotten steak! With his overwhelming hunger, Aberstone bites into it anyway and eats the entire thing. He teleports back at least feeling well fed... but also starts to feel very ill. Aberstone cannot move for the next game day!

We now cut to the next room, where Murphy shows up. He waits to see if anybody else is going to show... but nobody does. Eventually, he walks up to a table with a covered dish... removes the cover... and there is a tasty looking steak underneath! Murphy is left to eat the steak uninterrupted.

After a nice meal, he teleports back to his square... and it seems that Haddock has moved into the area while he's been gone! He managed to get the steak without a fight, but it seems he's going to have one here anyway!

Haddock (11, 5hp) vs Murphy (10, 6hp, 3 armour)

Wow, a massive right here between two more than capable fighters. This one could go either way! Murphy runs at Haddock with his sword and starts to swing it around. Haddocks rolls under a swing, gets some ground between them, and throws his throwing knife at Murphys face... it pierces his visor on his helmet and comes within center meters of Murphys right eye. Murphy tries to pull the knife free, but it's lodged in their deep... he's going to have to lose the helmet, he can't fight with that knife in there.
Murphy runs off to regroup and his armour takes a hit of 1hp. Haddock controls the square!

The next room has a bucket of fried chicken in it... but as with the buffet, nobody shows up for this either! That's the two best rooms that have both been avoided entirely...

Only the potato and nothing remain... not exactly great prizes left for anybody who was still teleporting.

In the next room, Stagat and Natch both show up at the same time! They're about to get into fighting... when Hodge shows up as well! We've got a triple threat!

Stagat (8, 3hp) vs Natch (2, 2hp, net) vs Hodge (7, 5hp)

Natch is clearly at a disadvantage here... and he knows it. He instinctively throws his net over Hodge and Stagat, and gets the fuck out of there leaving Hodge and Stagat to fight it out. Stagat is unarmed up against Hodge with his bow and arrow, but he is the first out of Natches net, and uses that advantage to quickly get up close to Hodge so that his bow is not effective. Stagat wraps his hands around hodges throat and starts to choke the life out of him... and does serious damage to his wind pipe. Hodge is able to get a quick thumb to Stagats eye and follow it up with a punch to his head that sends him reeling, but hodge quickly gets out of there. Hodge takes 1hp of damage, Stagat controls the room!

He walks up to the table and removes the cover... and there is nothing on the plate! This was the empty room. Disappointed after going through that much effort for nothing, Stagat heads back...
