Yes, the river and the lake are both shallow enough for you to walk through. Also, you don't need to actually be on the water to drink, you can do so by being on a square next to it as well.

To eat, you have to find food and have it in your inventory. Once you own it, you can eat as much or as little as you like by posting that you'd like to do so in the PM. To drink, you can do so by moving next to/in the river and saying you'd like to drink. Also, you can collect containers that will enable you to transport so much water away with you, to stop you needing to keep going back so regularly.

Keep these questions coming if you have them! There's no way I covered everything in the rules, so as I say, fire away!

100 is the maximum you can have at any given time.

Nope, no bearing at all. It simply gives you somebody to support if you die first, I guess. It was done purely because people asked for it and I thought it'd be cool, plus it makes it easier to find yourself in the OP I reckon as you just have to look for your district.

Yes, there are items out there that will heal you. But they are quite rare.

If two players land on the same square they will always fight.

You can sort of team up with people if you wanted, by PM'ing one another and letting each other know where you are in order to travel around together and avoid landing on the same square. You could also trade/share items, as you can drop items in a square and let others know to go to that square to find it.

As I remember other little bits and pieces I'm going to add them into this thread... such as:

You can travel through water, sure, but it does drain an extra 10 stamina. The same goes with the swamp in the bottom left corner.

Just under 20 minutes to the deadline and all but 3 players have sent PM's. Those who are yet to send, fear not, you shall simply rest for the day if you don't make the deadline.

I will hopefully give the first days update tonight, but there is a slight chance that I won't be able to... I'm off to see Ant Man for 8pm and after an early morning I assume that as soon as I get back from that I'll be going straight to bed. Unless I can get it done before 8, assume it won't be done tonight.

At the very least, it is my intention to at least so some of it.

I can confirm that there will be at least one fight already, on our first day. Who is going to be involved in the very first fight of The Hunger Games ?!

So, I mentioned we have a fight... and it is...

Ciderhead (8FS, 5hp) vs SUTSS (5FS, 3hp)!

Both men are unarmed, and Ciderhead showed great fighting skill prowess during fight training so you'd say he's the favourite for this fight.
SUTSS is able to land a couple of blows, but Ciderhead manages to give SUTSS some good hard hits to the head and also lands a stiff kick to SUTSS ribs that produces a sickening cracking sound. Feeling that he is losing this battle, SUTSS heads back to where he came from to live to fight another day.

Ciderhead has won the fight! SUTSS loses 1hp! They also both lose 20 stamina after having the fight.

Right, some of you have found items or weapons. Items are presented with the name, then the weight, then the description of what it does. Weapons are presented with the weapon score (which gets added to your fighting skill), the weight and then, for some, a description.

Having won the fight, Ciderhead takes control of his square and finds:

Large Flask (10, can be used to hold 100 water, can be drank at any time).

Last Request moves to a new square... and suddenly alarms go off! Oh no, he's landed in an alarm square, alerting other players to his location! The noise is coming from H11... he'd best get away quick.

Roversfan... also moves to an alarm square! This time, the sound is coming from N9!

Haddock also moves on... but suddenly falls down a concealed pit! Those bastard game makers seem to have put traps everywhere! Haddock cannot move for one day!

Right, I don't know about you guys but 1FF has been totally fucked for me all day. Either not working at all, or going very, very slow. It's not possible for me to run this as it is, so there will be no update until either tonight (I'm talking late, like 11pm or later) or tomorrow.

Also, because I'm assuming that there may be others who have struggled to get on, I will push the deadline back yet again to 10pm tonight to try and give people a chance. Here's hoping that the forum sorts itself out.

Just looking in the announcements section, it seems that the admin team are aware of how 1FF has been running and are looking to get it all sorted before the start of the new season. Up until then, this game shall progress ahead as it can (and right now, fingers crossed, it seems fine) but obviously there is always going to be the chance of further delays down the line if we get another day like yesterday.

An evenly matched fight between two unarmed people with equal fighting skill.

It's a very close fought thing, and both men actually fight really well... but in the end, Magic grabs Elmos wrist and twists it sickeningly, which produces a meaty sounding crack. Elmos wrist is fucked, so he backs off... Magic has won! Elmo loses 1hp.

As for the rest of it...

We have some hunting opportunities here. When you find items, they are picked up automatically (unless you reach your weight limit, in which case you must decide what to drop/leave behind in your PM), but when you come across a hunting oppertunity you must let me know in the PM that you want to go ahead with the hunt. Bare in mind, hunting works a lot like fighting... your fighting skill (plus hunting skill) is rolled against the animals fighting skill. If you win, you kill and hunt the animal successfully. If you tie, the animal gets away. If you lose, you will lose 1hp! There is a risk, but animals are by far the best way of getting food. And there is only a limited supply of animals as well... when they're gone, they're gone.

In the brackets are: Fighting skill (labeled as BR, because I was still calling it that when I designed the game But yes, for those who didn't play TFF Wars, BR is fighting skill), the amount of food they supply, followed by the weight)

Anyway, moving on with it...
