Alright, there's a full explanation of what this is about here.

To recap for both those who are participating and for the rest of you, though:
  • first and foremost, anyone is welcome to vote on these attached videos
  • the format is the same as the European Championships (4 groups of 4, QF, SF, F)
  • videos will be posted in pairs, people should vote for their favourite from each pair by liking the post that it appears in
  • each video has been PM'd to me by a poster participating in this game, after they were assigned a random genre of music or a year
  • each pair of videos (and thus the posters who PM'd them to me) are facing off against each other
  • the poster whose video has the most likes after the deadline has elapsed will receive 3 points.
Hopefully that makes sense. Essentially, videos are going to be posted in pairs. Choose your favourite from each pair by clicking the like button. I will clearly label the matchups.

This is the Group B thread. Group B consists of the following posters:
Dave
The Hand of Dom
Leewilson
StagsForLife

First round of Group B matches to follow this post.

The deadline will be 24 hours after the final match in Round 1 has been posted.

The Gossip fan woulda got my vote for sure with Heavy Cross. Both indie choices a bit uninspiring though, as it is.

Hang on. This is all just a vessel to improve SoC's ratio, innit? Bastard.
Haha, I think this could end up damaging my ratio more than helping it out!

Which one? Only the first two are in the indie category. The Verve and Will Smith is a different matchup. The posters who picked those ones were choosing songs from 1997.

I wouldn't call the first two indie, but they were chosen by posters right? So you're off the hook ;)

Those first two tracks bring back memories of stumbling around Propagnada back 8 years ago.

Verve got my second vote fairly easy although it was an obvious choice. Unfortunately Will Smith wasn't a good choice in my opinion.

They started out in Bristol at a small club called Level I think, I started going a couple of years later at Panache. I knew they were in Blackpool but didn't know they had expanded further.

I had loads of mates into Indy at the time and the drinks were dirt cheap, the downside was stumbling into work hanging on a Thursday. Good nights at the time though even if I never really loved the music.

That is the first round of matches all uploaded, so I'll give you 24 hours (or when I first log on tomorrow, which is likely to be around this same time tomorrow) and then close the voting. After that, I'll upload some tables. Excellent responses so far to all involved and thanks to anyone that voted!

Christ I love Propaganda. My go to night out on Fridays in Norwich.

I don't understand why Reading has Propaganda and Nottingham doesn't. You'd have thought of all the cities, Nottingham would be one. Although with Bodega, Spanky's, Filthy's and Rescue Rooms I struggle for a night out.......Even Rock City to a certain extent.

Alright, voting is now over for the 1st round of matches. Leewilson amassed the highest points for total and difference with an astute use of Bittersweet Symphony.

Remember, you should be voting for 1 song per match. Song with the most likes wins.
Had a request to post links to lyrics too, so from this round underneath each song there will be a link to those. However, if it's a piece of classical music or an electronic piece or something with minimal lyrics I won't be doing this.
Group B - Round 2, Match 1
Genre: K-pop

Hyuna - Bubble Pop VS 2NE1 - I am the Best
lyrics

Voting will close 24 hours after the last match has been posted.

I hate them both. Second one just edges it though.

StagsForLife requires a massive points difference swing in order to make it out. Dave takes the lead by maintaining a 100% record.
