That United have the second best defensive record in the league despite playing at times our 7th and eight choice full backs whilst also playing a small, slow, weak defensive midfield as a cb is a testament to how good Smalling has been.

Don't blame people for picking the obvious 2 ahead of him though. All 3 have been miles above anyone else.

Inb4 midfield and strikers:

Firmino is averaging a goal/assist every 107 minutes this season- better than Ozil (113), De Bruyne (116), Mahrez (118) and Payet (131).
Sturridge is averaging a goal/assist every 96 minutes this season- better than Vardy (123), Aguero (102) and Lukaku (121).

Firmino was voted the second biggest flop though, wasn't he?

When a midfielder has a good game, he's compared to Ozil, when Ozil has a good game he's not compared to anyone, just a step above.

Why not? Maybe not Alderweireld as he's obviously been the standout CB this season (although I think Smalling could be atleast as good as him in a settled team) but Smalling is as good a pick as anyone else (can obviously understand why the majority of people have gone for the Leicester players).

I meant in terms of form not ability. I have high hopes that Smalling can go on and be considered a great centre back. He's shown good composure. Wish he'd cut out the blatent tugging at set pieces but that asside he's been great.

Just morgans form has been better.

Maybe try watching some football. You'll probably find it's more like since mid October...
The fact Toddles endorses your POV should be seen as a negative!

We conceded 17 goals in our opening 10 games. We've conceded 14 in the following 23. Since October we've had the best defence in the league. Spurs have conceded 17 since then, Man U 22.

You kept 4 clean sheets in the first 5 months of the season lol, absolute shambles.

As I said, best defence since October. If our defence has been a shambles everyone has must be on another level of shite.
You can lol all you want but it just makes you look like a dumbass.

Can you list your right and left backs mate so we can see who the 7 RBs and 8 LBs you've had out injured? I can't get them all off the top of my head. Cheers.

Smalling has been impressive but we've played defensively to the extreme. When we've let the reigns off we've looked amateur at the back.

We're also one of the worst at keeping a lead.

Hi mate. Obviously this has been lost in translation. If you are talking football with someone and you say "X is like our 8th choice full back", you don't LITERALLY mean he's the 8th choice full back. You mean he's way down the pecking order. A bit like if someone said Milner's corners never beat the first man. They don't LITERALLY mean he has NEVER beaten the first man with a corner kick, they just mean it happens a lot.

If you want any other linguistic titbits* then feel free to get in touch.

*DM me if you don't understand this term before you go accusing me of breastfeeding or the likes in a few weeks time. Cheers.

No one play with wide men anymore, i'd recommend it should be a poll with one player for CM, and a poll with three for AM.
Instead of focus on who should play right and who should play left.

Erm, there was no wumming about that question? Can you actually give an answer please mate...
Uhh doesn't your reply to Bilo imply you were doing exactly that?

But if you really want your answer

Approximate Right and left back pecking order at the start of the year

Valencia -- Shaw
Darmian -- Blind
Young -- Rojo
Jones -- Young
Mcnair -- Darmian
Varela -- Borthwick Jackson
Fosu Mensah -- Joe Riley
Donald Love

So we've started players who are eigth and ninth in the potential pecking order whilst also having heavily relied on players who were 6th and 7th at the start of the year.

You really are shit at this wumming lark. I'd stick to making your amazingly accurate predictions if I were you

The reply to Bilo was nothing in reference to yourself. He showed himself up the other day so was trying to be funny by copying and pasting something that didn't make sense in this context. Hence the pic for showing himself up again.

As for the rest of your answer, I appreciate you probably don't watch United as much now you don't win league titles anymore but Valencia, Young and Jones aren't fullbacks. I've never heard of most of the rest so I'll just assume you are correct on those. However you can't put the same player in both lists mate, even you know that. Cheers.

 It made perfect sense.

Valencia and Young have played as a fullback more than any other posiitions these last two years, in fact Valencia hasn't played anywhere else this year. They are both essentially full backs now. Had he been fit Jones would have almost certainly been chosen ahead of a Varela and the other youngsters given Van Gaal did just that last year.

Given only two players can play at any one time and all of them players listed on both of those lists have played both positions I absolutely can. For example yesterday Valencia was available so Darmian played on the left ahead of the youngsters like Borthwick Jackson.

Poor efforts all round here.
