Great win and thoroughly professional performance second half, bar the goal after 5 minutes we were comfortable and rarely troubled.

McDermott got a standing ovation but considering we had one striker available and had a debut a youth midfielder up top that was very pleasing.

Good win and performance to settle the nerves for the season.

Really pleased with that. Great way to start our latest spell in this league. Be tougher tests of course than what looked frankly an average Fleetwood team but we still did a really good job both with and without the ball.

Huge credit to Charsley, Smith and Hall for us and young Tommy McDermott who fully deserved his standing ovation when he was subbed.

We were absolute class first half, although Peterborough were miles off it. Second half they stepped up and showed why they'll be one of the best teams in the league. Plenty of positives for us nonetheless.

Yeah, well done mate, plenty of work for Brown to do but optimistic we'll do ok. Good luck for the rest of the season

Gutted. Although it looks like 1 point gained after being behind, that is definitely 2 points missed.

We looked shaky to begin with but improved massively second half.

I thought Exeter were a very tidy team. They started well and put us under pressure from the off. Mistake as we were attacking and somehow Exeter were straight through our defence and scored. Feared the worst at the point.

However we dug deep, despite having nothing in attack. Felt as the game went on we got more and more control/ Exeter tired, could have gone either way in the last 20. Scully missed 2 massive chances too.

Exeter were constantly looking for that same ball over the centre backs. Lost count the amount of times they were offside.

Happy to start with a point. Very clear where our issues lie. Great to see us dig deep and good response to the team and manager at the end of the game

Class today Vale were. We got the feel of them, granted after they scored, and never looked in danger from that point

Well that was a pleasant surprise. Clearly we caught the Gas at the right time given their shortage of centre backs, but we put in a solid performance nonetheless. Belshaw in goal for the Gas was superb and kept the score down.

I said you were playing us at the right time, then find out Finley was out with an injury that added to it.
Very poor from us, we even had to play Westbrooke who we shipped out to Stevenage last season.
Poor preparation for the season. Same as last season but I hope we turn it around a bit quicker.

I thought we were doing well gate-wise with nearly 5,800, especially as Burton brought limited numbers, but wow, a lot of decent-sized crowds there.

I thought early on you were going to blow us away but then we grew into it. Think your keeper was a bit unsure of himself and between him and one of your CB’s nearly combined for a pretty comical OG in the second half. Seemed you liked knocking it short on goal kicks as well, against a team like us who like to use a high press I’m not sure that was wise. Either way good luck to Fleetwood as well.

Something I did notice and am sure this is standard across L1 but there was a hell of a lot of shithousery going on but maybe a bit more subtle than what would see in L2.

After a shaky start when MK Dons hit the bar after 2 mins we calmed down and controlled the game.

We scored a beautifully worked goal and when that went in we allowed them to have the ball but they didn’t do an awful lot with it.

A good 3 points to start the season and to get a win against a team that has battered us the last few seasons is an added bonus.

As good as we were first half, and we were bloody good, is as bad as we were second. Peterborough were much better second half, but we've carried on from last season in that if we're winning at half-time we sit back and invite the pressure.

It concerns me that this hasn't been acknowledged in Wade's post-match interview, because it's so obvious a blind man can see it. As for the Peterborough goals, the first was poor, the second was a fucking disgrace. Clarke-Harris won't have a better lay off to him at any point this season than the one Charlie Raglan played to him for it.

Loads of positives from the first half, and even towards the end of the second, but oh so many negatives from the first 30 mins of the second half.

Defensively Fleetwood we’re very poor today and our crosses were causing them all sorts of issues, Wozza was on it today with those. They knocked it around well at times though and sure Brown will look at their defensive frailties and address that.

Got to say though how good was Connor Hall today, that boy is a rolls Royce of a centre half and he was oozing quality today, the goal was well taken as well and the turn to set up the first was delightful.

He’s a good looking chap an all.

Yeah that was nice to see Worrall had a bit more zip on his crosses. Last season when his hip was playing up he was pretty much having them loop into the box and were usually easy to defend.

Nice little cameo from Forrester. Probably could do with his own song rather than just prompting a loud “we all hate Stoke scum” though. Holden I’ll look forward to when he’s got some match fitness as saw flashes from him.

Fantastic start for us, honestly it should have been 4 or 5.

Don’t think Barnsley were at it and as I mentioned before it was probably a good time to play them before they settle in.

If we can get finishing our chances we should score plenty this year. Exciting times.

You were indeed surprisingly awful to be fair.
However FGR undereducated you today and without your awesome keeper could have easily lost that 6,1!

Just watching the highlights show what a lovely goal that was by Finn Azaz. Looked some player last season at Newport and can only see big things in the future for him.

Really comfortable victory in the end after a dreadful first 10 minutes. We still look to be riding the crest of a wave and that will carry us over the line in a lot of games.

We were essentially starting the season with a makeshift team. A 17 year old up front making his debut and not really our first choice midfield.

It bodes well that we saw out the game pretty easily and still have 3 or 4 of our best players to come in, plus new signings.

Fleetwood are no mugs and won't be in the bottom 4 come the end of the season, so really pleasing from that aspect.

Connor Hall is unreal, one of the best centre halves we've had for many years and absolutely bamboozled their defender to set up our equaliser like a seasoned winger.

I still think league 1 is being oversold and obviously one good result doesn't change that but to win with still plenty left in the tank bodes well.

Port Vale are amazing and a hot tip for promotion, well that’s what I have been told by many of their fans.

I don't think anyone has said that have they? I just took umbridge with a few posters who reckoned that league 1 is basically an extension of the premier league.

I'm sure we'll have far harder tests than today but for a makeshift side against a relatively established league 1 side, a comfortable win bodes well does it not?

Don't think we'll be anywhere near the top 10 but this idea that we might as well not bother turning up is a joke. It's the 3rd division.
