Can't disagree more with this. I thought we've been excellent although the crossing and lack of shooting when getting into good areas is slightly annoying.

Why are we good at home but absolutely hopeless away from home?

So you agree then? That was my point final action not being good enough, was thinking about a couple of moments where we picked the ball up in good areas through our press but didn’t make the most of it when I wrote that. Particular example was Pelly picking up a loose pass from Bakinson and then ending up going backwards with it. We tidied that up a bit in the second half to be fair and should have had a goal at 1-0 with the chance Collins had. Thought weight regret that miss!

Good win in the end, Dewsbury Hall is so above the level it’s silly, hope Leicester don’t have any recall clauses because he’s by a margin our best player.

Second half we had a bit more control but it still wasn't great, good ball and poor defending from Coventry made it 2-0 and they never looked like turning it around.

Potts coming on improved us, Rudd & Maguire did well, Fisher & Davies had good games, the rest...

3 wins and 3 clean sheets in a row.

I say it again.... Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to get in that England squad within the next few years...

He is a special player. The only thing missing from him for us has been popping up with the odd goal and hes got a big one tonight.

Saw someone say on social media that he is what we hoped Brown would be last season - and that resonated with me a bit. When you watch him he looks like a Premier League player playing a level below and really makes a difference whenever he plays.

This league is rancid if we're both top half.

Got to say the league doesnt feel as good as it did last season.

Schedule isnt helping but feels like there is a lack of quality in the final third in particular, across the league.

It's not been great but I am joking, Barnsley are a very good run stemming back from last season it seems... well, according to this Barnsley fan who lives on PNE Online called, Nightmare.

Do you have one of those as well? Wonder if it's the same Barnsley fan who lives on SkyBluesTalk and won't stop butting in on unrelated threads to tell everyone how fantastic Barnsley are.

He was scoring goals for Blackpool before lockdown. He needs to shoot more as he gets in great areas, but his engine is unbelievable. He has had Bakinson on toast tonight. I think he's probably had about 5-6 MOTMs already; I can't think of any other Luton player with as many in such a short period of time.

He is 2-3 years behind Harvey Barnes who also went out on loan.

Another one with a fine engine is Rhys Norrington-Davies - was like Road Runner down that wing up to the end. I also fancy him to have an impact at the Euros the way he is going. Just a pity neither of those two ringers are actually ours!

Yeah a lot of those edge of box opportunities have fallen to Rea of late which....isnt ideal from our perspective. Fortunately that one fell to him.

Bakinson had a real shocker tonight, think it was him who gave it to KDH for the goal and got a bit of a pummelling too. Wont have happy memories of his Kenny return.

Well you know we must have won a game if the opposition fans are all calling for the manager’s head.

Cardiff fans are raging up in no small measure - Neil Harris was actually sent to the stands during the game so perhaps that’s a foreshadowing of things to come.

Anyway - a much needed 3 points for us not to get cut adrift, since our fellow crapsters are picking up wins.

Uche Ikpeazu - our summer signing who was clearly intended to be Akinfenwa Junior - finally started a game having first got crocked and then getting COVID. So yay.

he’s far more mobile than Akinfenwa (a low benchmark, I realise) and seems to be a pain in the arse to play against, so all good. He’s not prolific and never has been, but we created far better chances this game than in recent weeks, no more flick ons to no one, or hopeful crosses that the CBs just mop up all day long.

We’ll still rightly be faves to go down, but this was encouraging.

Am I right in thinking that Luton still haven't lost at home on a Tuesday night since that 3-2 defeat v Wycombe in January 2018?

Poor from us tonight, not enough urgency on the attack. This happens sometimes, that we get the balance wrong and try to pass it into the net rather than just shooting when in good positions, but it's frustrating nonetheless.

Feel sorry for McGovern picking up an injury, but it's a decent chance for Barden in the next league game and in the FA Cup, unless Krul recovers in time for Saturday against Barnsley.

I thought Bristol City were shocking rather than us good. Give the ball up too easily, invite pressure and win few of the second balls and find themselves light handed and stretched at the back. A good side would have spanked them tonight. I thought their keeper Bentley was highly regarded!!!!! i realise thats far from their best eleven tho.

The exception were the front three who were pretty dangerous with a couple good chances created through balls inside a slow turning Pearson whos a CB asked and at times exposed as a RB

Saying that we dealt with it pretty well with Lockyer getting better and better each week. Much better deliveries, we looked fluid at times stodgy at others, with lots of room to improve.

KDH is good. But im not as worshipping as others. He has a long way to go to be a Prem player and England is just never happening, unless theres a God given biblical improvement. Shinnie in his prime was better. Hes def pretty on the eye but his actual delivery and shooting leaves a lot to be desired and i bet his stats show he gives the ball away a lot. However thats due to attempted difficult thru passes etc rather than sideways etc I like him a lot and love that he tries these things and he is a creative inspiration for us, but he needs a lot of work and a right foot and he will be a decent Prem player.

RND on the other hand could very easily be a high quality Prem League fullback in time. He has pace and power to burn, is highly competitive and an engine that just keeps purring all day. Add some consistent quality deliveries, experience on when to commit to tacles and when to get forward and when to stay and he will be some player. If we could keep one of the two i would pick him all day....... We have no chance of either!!!!

That Dabo is class by the way, had Earl on toast and his delivery into the box was good too.

Probably the most impressed i've been by an opposition player this season. He'll go for big money you would think.

Hamer in midfield was very classy too but we kind of conceded the midfield all game, so not sure how good he is if things get compact. Has he been good all season?

O'Hare was an annoying little bastard too, very busy and loves hitting the deck.

In hindsight I think the glow of the winner last night led to a bit of over praise on my part of KDH. Reading back “special player” was a bit OTT by me!

Not sure I agree at all about Shinnie in his prime for us being better than KDH although it’s a reasonable comparison in terms of player. The latter is far more mobile and active out of possession than Shinnie, his pressing and general play off the ball are far far ahead of anything Shinnie produced. In possession it’s a reasonable comparison but you ha e to take into account the level and players around him. Shinnie never looked comfortable at this level even fresh off the back of his L1 season. KDH has Marty Pearson making right back runs for him and Shinnie had JJ/Stacey, that had a huge impact on our overall play.

KDH has 5 out of 6 home MOTM awards since he came into the side. He is running the show every time and as I said last night, he had the Bristol midfield for dinner. To say he's only as good as Shinnie is laughable - for one, said Scotsman is now plying his trade him in the league below!

In regards to Bristol City being poor - they played the same level as Norwich, Bournemouth and Preston - it may occasionally be us not just them.

Hamer has been our best player this season, he’s a level above the rest of the side, Dabo aside. As for Dabo, he started the season injured and hasn’t really got going yet as our current style of play doesn’t really suit him. Last night was one of his best games so far alongside the Norwich game and the wins against Reading and QPR. Would imagine both of them will go for £5m+ in the summer.

Seems like we are carrying on then? Somewhat surprised especially after the Premier League postponements I thought that might tip the scales.

Money talks I guess and worries about when to fit the fixtures in.

FA Cup next week - wonder if that was will affected as teams will be playing each other not knowing who has and hasn't been tested.

The Cup games involving the non league sides left are going to be played under "elite" conditions, I would assume that this will mean they need to be tested to be able to play, although L1/2 havent been testing regularly as far as I can tell so who knows. Apparently the EFL is going to be doing testing across the leagues next week so that will help. Although looking at the amount of games in particular League 1 has lost without widespread testing, goodness only knows what will happen when they start testing everyone.

What I find curious in particular is that League 1 seems to have been afflicted by covid postponements far, far more than any of the other divisions in the Football League, whereas in this league only a couple of fixtures have been lost to covid, and most of those very recently as well.

:) Ok ok. I will bow on the Shinnie thing. BUT. They were put in those spots by his vision. KDH hasnt as yet found that consistency but def doesn't have the quality of movement JJ and Stacey game him.

It’s something the PFA should be getting a grip on. Like with everything with them, when it comes to spending money they are conspicuously quiet.
