So what friendlies have everybody else got?

So far we have away matches at Boreham Wood, Lincoln City and Swindon as well as a home game with Bournemouth.

We did La Manga last year, played Hibs out there. Good facilities apparently. We're going to Portugal this summer, not playing any games though that we know of. Our schedule is below, rumour is that we're trying to sort a friendly with Rangers as well. I don't really care for pre season games but Rangers at Ibrox would be exciting.

Getting Rangers and Liverpool wouldn't be a bad couple of pre season games.

The Pompey game is the opening of the new stand, supposedly we had European and Premier League teams interested, but went with Portsmouth so disappointment would be less if something meant we weren't ready for it.

As well as Reading away we also welcome Cardiff for what seems to be an annual game now, 3 or 4 seasons in a row for some reason, it's not exactly the most local friendly for them.

We're playing Fulham.. at Aldershot. :dk:

And then a load of lower/non-league aways.

One home game yet to be announced, which I assume will be a European side as with Villarreal & Sevilla in recent years.

Not one for friendlies, but I'll make the trip to Lincoln, one of the few grounds I haven't been to.

Imagine if we had played Swindon in the league on a Tuesday night....

9th July - Boreham Wood (A)
16th July - Lincoln City (A)
19th July - Swindon Town (A)
23rd July - AFC Wimbledon (A)
29th July - AFC Bournemouth (H)

That's our full list. Not a bad selection. Would have been nice to have a bigger game than Bournemouth at home, but these games are just for getting up fitness, and getting our new foreign players (and manager?) used to the English game.

Yeah i will probably head up to Lincoln now i'v managed to convince one of my mates to go. Wasn't going to go up there on my own. Not been there before either. Will probably go to all but Boreham Wood.

With the way the club is at the moment it might not be long before we play Swindon in a league fixture again.

Pre-season friendly added - Grimsby Town away Wed 20th July at 7.30pm.

Pity it's not a Saturday for a day at the seaside, but it's only an hour or so and it's years since I've been so I think I will make time.

Training camp in Austria 4th-10th July
9th July - SV Reid (A) 6pm Austrian time
16th July - Bury (@ Morecambe) 1pm (60 min)
16th July - Morecambe (A) 2.30pm (60 min)
19th July - Rochdale (A) 7.45pm
23rd July - Blackpool (A) 3pm
26th July - Mansfield (A) 7.30pm
31st July - Notts County (A) 3pm

A disappointing lack of a home fixture this year, looking forward to the mini-tournament at Morecambe and the Blackpool game anyway, should be a brilliant opportunity for some Venky's and Oyston out protests at Blackpool.

Latest list of RUFC pre-season games for 2016-17.

9th July Parkgate away
10th to 17th July Polish tour 2 games LechPoznan and one other TBC
20th July Grimsby away
23rd July Sunderland home
26th July Scunthorpe away

Usually go on the summer tour and wouldn't have minded going to Poland but seems a waste of money if there's only two games,

We've got a week out in the Algarve for some warm weather pre season training. The first team squad and the U21s all going together.

While out there playing a local team and Benfica at the stadium in Faro where the Euros were held a few years ago.

Should be a good trip.

We're supposedly playing Mansfield Town and Chesterfield away early July I believe, think they'll be before the Benfica game.
