Yeah, much better than last week. Helps to have the pitch cut at a suitable length!

Habergham wasn't really tested defensively but was solid enough until he went off on 60 minutes.

Marriott looked lively in his 45 minute spell and you can't argue with two goals. Looked to be able to hold the ball up quite well when it came into him.

Arnold got about 60 minutes as well. Couple of mazy runs, some nice pieces of skill and can claim an assist (and his corner led to the goalmouth scramble for the first goal).

Last night was a night I genuinely once or twice (maybe 3 or 4 times) have thought I'd never see. We played a HOME game, not in Woking, not in Maidenhead, not in the cage, but in our ground on actual grass!

We played Hendon and unfortunately , not adding to the occasion, lost 2-0. Performances throughout this Pre Season have been excellent we had won 6 from 7 scoring plenty on the way. But for the big night it wasn't to be, the first time this Pre Season we failed to score and 2nd time we failed to win. Nonetheless, it felt great to see a game be played in our very own ground now I can say roll on Southern Premier. Away to Frome Saturday, then all being well our first competitive game at home v Hitchin.

Word of thanks to Woking and Maidenhead fans who gave us a temporary home whilst we awaited ours, good luck in the coming season!:)

Hannah sent off today for Barrow I see, not good.
We stuttered to a 2-2 draw with Curzon Ashton. Rob Atkinson starting his first game of pre season and looking a little rusty. Marcus Williams was back again though which is encouraging, i hope he signs. Nicky Clee got some more valuable game time as he works on fitness.
No real fluidity to our game yet but the signs are positive. Being part time hurts us most at this time of year.

We can attack brilliantly, but we can't defend for shit. Lots more 4-3's on the way.
Yeah Newport's first goal was just a quality goal with Marlon Jackson too powerful, losing Pinnock and producing a great header. Second goal they caught us on the break but the goal came from poor communication between Bennett and Clough. The third was a dicey handball penalty.

I know pre season friendlies count for zilch come the important stuff, however we did look very good for most parts yesterday, made Crewes first team look very poor indeed. Should have been more than 3-0.

We put last seasons League 2 Champions Northampton Town to the sword yesterday 4-1. They had their strongest possible side out, as did we, and we annihilated them. The first 20 mins were even, but after that we went up 2 gears and they couldnt live with us. We look very dangerous going forward.

That is a good result but bear in mind Northampton lost to Brackley 4-2 the other day. Not sure what they've done to themselves his summer.

The Crewe one is all the funnier because of that FootballPurist berk.

Crewe manager ranting and raging about being bullied by our physical approach and that he would have started the game with taller players if he had known! We have about 4 tallish players start yesterday and the rest are quite small to be honest, I would imagine that Crewe were much taller throughout the side than us.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Crewe manager. He doesn't just need sacking, he needs sectioning

Quite a few of their fans are calling for him to be sacked before the season has even kicked off.

I can see why, know it's only a friendly and maybe they had an off day, but if that's the Crewe first team I would be seriously pissed off on that showing. Maybe Crewe will be down here sooner or later.

Our game with Solihull was very entertaining yesterday. From their point of view, they looked pretty good going forwards, but I'd be worried about their defence if I was a fan of them. We managed to carve them open a few times and some of the stronger attacking forces next season should score a few.

I thought we looked promising in what is probably our most realistic test of a good National North team. Fane didn't play but did attend the game amidst speculation about a move to Oldham. The trialist we had in his place was a bit shaky which would be a concern if we couldn't adequately replace him, but overall we have a lot more attacking options than last season which gives me some confidence.

It'll be interesting to see how bigger attendances are dealt with at Solihull next season. I don't think I've ever been searched on my way into a friendly before, and parking, etc. could become an issue when the likes of Wrexham and Tranmere go there. I can't see how they would be able to segregate if required either.

I don't know, I think it's all a bit silly to call for a manager to be sacked in a non competitive game, it's all about fitness at the end of the day. Having said that it wouldn't surprise me to see them down here soon.

They've wanted him sacked for the last couple of years I think.

That is a phrase I thought I would never, ever see on a football forum. If he was too powerful for your defence, God fucking help you.
Perhaps he's been in the gym because he looked like a big unit yesterday.

We had him on trial a few weeks back and he looked as useless as ever...no idea why we even had him. He is quite big, but very lightweight if you get my meaning.

We beat AFC Fylde 1-4 in their last game before moving to a new stadium. Cracking result that, but the big test is next week.

Why is beating a team from a league below such a good result.

You'd expect to beat them wouldn't you?

Their reporter tweeted that it's arguably the best performance he's ever seen from a non-league team. It's only a friendly, but it was promising stuff.

And don't belittle AFC Fylde, they're a decent side on the way up.

We beat Everton U23's 3-1 this afternoon, with goals from Josh Thompson, Neil Ashton and James Gray. We also had James Caton play 45 minutes for us, but whether we've got a realistic chance of signing him remains to be seen.

Yep beating and outplaying teams from leagues above in friendlies guarantees you the title, that's why we romped to the Conference title last year.......... didn't we?

Telford's reporter said similar about us last week.
