If your lot then lose to BPA I’d sack your manager for messing today.

Spennymoor was a bye to the next round, mind they deserve flogging it for spending money on players than pitch

I wanted us to rotate and I'm glad we did. We have a small squad and dropped both our cb's, 2 of our 3 cm's and our Striker.

BPA weren't that good and we should beat them with a full strength side. But you're right it's set up for us to lose on Wednesday.

Well, as expected, away to Stockport on Wednesday, should be one hell of a tussle. All ticket apparently, could this be the new National North attendance record?

Halifax had 7,920 in the final last season, don't think we'll break that on Weds

Gannon dropped most of the first team today, and it showed, we were woeful for much of the game. Brazel and Dixon were main culprits for me, I don't see any point in either of 'em being here next season. It's fine giving some of them a rest, like Ball and Oswell, but I don't understand why Turnbull was dropped when he's only recently gotten to full match fitness, would much rather he'd got a full runout today.

Don't see why not, we took just under 2000 to that game, we will sell our 1500, you had over 6000 today so should increase that, I can see the record going.

Not got much sympathy for Spennymoor over their drastic end of season, although don’t think BPA deserve in at all.

But Speeny needed just 5 points from Curzon, Telford, NFU and Southport, four of the worst performing sides this season and were not able to muster it

Thank god its the end of the season.

Todays game up at Chorley had a real end of season feel about it.

We had the better of the first half, created a few openings but never really looking like scoring. It was a really patched up squad second half and the issue was settled after a comedy of errors from us at the back left Walker with a simple chipped finish over a stranded Elliott.

Its a been long hard slog this season.

The appointment of McDermott was questionable. He then used a massively improved budget to sign a load of absolute rubbish. Over 50 players have turned out for us this season. Came up witha full XI of fucking shite on the journey home. The vast majority Elliott Green aside Mc Dermotts doing.
His decison to freeze McGowan out straight away was strange and then their was the falling out with captain Billy Priestley who went to Southport.
Says a lot when we started the season with McGowan and Priestley at centre half and end it with Green and Beevers!

Decent performances few and far between. Only 3 home wins between September 9th and the end of the season. Dire performances in the FA Cup and Trophy meaning we missed out on crucial prize money.

Abject displays at home to Telford and Spennymoor in crucial games mean home support has been eaten in to. Need as a matter of urgency find a solution to our home woes. Season after season of struggle is not doing the club any favours long term.

Latest on Nuneaton

Big changes as Chairman Lee Thorn has now stepped down and the club and ground are up for sale.

The club will also change its name back to Nuneaton Borough for the 2018/19 season

Tough end for us, but a very decent season for Curzon really.

Losing five key players from previous year in the summer, having the smallest budget, losing a key player during season and numerous long injuries.............we really should have easily gone down.

But survived again with effort and teamwork, did it with two spare games, another master class by manager.

Should be better for us next year hopefully, league looking weaker and some obvious sides for relegation already showing

But it is tough to survive here

Strong rumours that Chris Moyses has been offered the job at Alfreton for next season and will accept.

Big Dave. I guess those sides looking obvious for relegation? FC United, Nuneaton? Even Blyth?

Well I think FCUM and Nuneaton are obvious clubs in the sh*tter for next season, both going to be total rebuild jobs on much reduced budgets. Leamington another I think, usually you drop more points second season after promotion as you lose that just up confidence.........and Leamington didn’t have a great season this.

Curzon will struggle also due to tiny budget, the play-off sides from eco stick look likely to struggle, BPA if fail to go up are looking likely to reduce down. Even maybe Chester with all their issues or of course York.

Good game today taking into account we had a few players missing, quite shocked after hearing the announcement of our team selection as i walked into the ground after a couple of hour's in Hyde. I was expecting us to get hammered after Wednesday's abysmal display.

A very tense game with very little chances created from both sides, other than a Heaton block on the line, nothing else really troubled Pears other than a wave to us Darlo fan's chanting him to stay at the club. Wishfull thinking!

I thought once we got our noses in front we looked good to take home the 3 points back to the north-east, from then on we weren't seriously tested by Stockport with them seeing a lot of the ball. In fact i thought we gifted Stockport's equalizer by letting their player just waltz through our midfield and gave him all the time in the world to pick his moment and pull the trigger 1-1. Never closed him down whatsoever which was annoying.

Couldn't fault anybody today we played very well throughout and put a good shift in for the 90 minutes. Glover looks a decent prospect, as does Vaulks who was brilliant.
Overall a good point from today's game, but i thought we just could have pinched the points if we'd have closed their scorer down.

Another fantastic atmosphere with a great following considering we had zilch to play for, in the mix a couple of smokebombs went off in front of us........cough!
Good to see the player's come over and appreciate our support. And Tommy Wright threw his coat amongst the crowd :bravo:

What a privilege to be back at Edgeley Park. So jealous what a :brill: stadium

Biggest problem is who is going to take the likes of Caton, burgess and Marrs considering the money that they are on (thanks Martin Gray)

I wish some fucker would take them, Caton couldn't even make the bench today, clearly he's not in TW's plans?
Burgess has been captain of Whitby Town for a while now, so we should be able to come to some arrangement with him surely?

Cheer up Martin Gray :bg:

Why "of course" York?

I'd have thought after the disgrace of finishing 11th in the sixth tier (lowest they've been all season?), the club would make a concerted effort to push for automatic promotion, especially if they manage to find the buyer they've been seeking.

It would be laughable if we somehow managed to scrape into 7th place now. There's no way we deserve any chance of promotion after this abortion of a season.

Patience must be wearing a bit thin now with you guys on MG? The noose round his neck must be getting ever so tighter, they should do a golden ticket draw for a fan to pull out, if they want too they can decide whether to kick the stool from underneath him. Seriously is he staying put now at the club? Or moving on?

MG isn't the problem, we could sack him right now and it'd still be McGill's stooges and Jason hiring the next guy, until the structure at the club changes it means nothing. Getting him out would change very little of what is actually the problem, the real rot is above the on field staff, we can keep changing them all we like.

There won't be a buyer, deadline will pass and there will be some sort of excuse and it'll all carry on as is, sadly. We won't do anything of note next season as long as McGill is here.

I thought McGill and his cronies or as you say stooges gone? Or are they still circling the club like vultures.

Nope, he has a puppet board in place and a deadline of Monday for bids for the club which is incredibly unlikely to bear any fruit. He "resigned" but its clear who pulls the strings.

I see BPA are having to cut their "unsustainable" budget next season.

Meanwhile Darlo fans have raised 73.5k to boost next season's budget so hopefully we can have a decent budget but without eating into our sustainability (for once)

Darlo baggsy Adam Boyes first.

That's an incredible achievement boost the budget, makes ye proud to be a Darlo supporter in this day and age. I would imagine that £80k is in within reach.

Adam Boyes is a must? Styche is desperate for a bit of company.

Another words he's still got all his finger's in the pies. When clearly he should have just walked when he resigned.

they should not struggle......neither should Chester, but they look likely to go into the summer with massive behind scene problems and possible big budget cuts......both may get new buyers and better direction, but both may drag on for months and months......as shown in recent seasons by Altrincham and Southport you can easily f*ck up badly on the pitch even without spending issues........let alone if you are cost cutting also.

Its a weird one because i expected this year to be tough and to be fair in terms of surviving it has been needing 49 points to survive is alot in 42 games..........but i've found that is because the top 7 sides have been in the end much much poorer than i expected them to be, Salford/Harrogate were in no way near same quality of Fylde last season..........play-off sides have been much weaker than last year.

well that or league is a lot more even than it was.

I give you an Alfreton all star 2017/18 National League North DOGSHIT XI

Manager - John McDermott
Goalkeeper - Mason Sprinthorpe (Played one pre season game. Dog Shit. Loaned to Sutton Coldfield. Without a club since September.

Right back - Alex Cover (Young kid signed on loan from Derby. Horribly out of his depth. Exposed at home to Boston. Conceded two penalties in the first 15 minutes. Hauled off at HT and sent back to Derby.
Centre Half - Elliott Green - Strange signing on loan from Guiseley. Not played all season. Recovering from a long term injury and boy did it show. Absolute carcrash. Think his career is over.
Ben Clappison - Brought in by McDermott to play one game due to injuries. Awful. At fault for all three goals in a home loss to Bradford PA. Played the rest of the season at North Ferriby.
Left Back - Jordan Snodin. Made one sub appearance early in the season. Now at Selby Town in the Northern Counties East League First Divison.
Midfield - Billy Whitehouse. Signed because a couple goals against poor Step 5 opposition. Played on the opening day. Shit. Now at Tadcaster Albion at Step 4.
Midfield - Ryan Jennings. Managed one goal all season against Leamington in over 30 appearances. Awful attitude. Dont want to see him in an Alfreton shirt again.
Midfield - Kegan Everington. Not good enough. Cost us the game at FC United with an abysmal display. Had a loan spell at Step 4 Brighouse Town. Another for the scrap heap.
Midfield - Adam Smith. Mr TK Maxx himself. Poor attitude. Not able to keep himself fit. Now at Bradford PA. Not sure how he continues to get clubs at this level
Striker - Malachi Lavelle Moore. Looked totally lost at home to Southport. Hauled off and sent out on loan to Sutton Coldfield. never seen again. Now playing at Ilkeston at Step 6.
Striker - Nabil Shariff. Scored a couple for Rushden against our hapless defence. So we signed him up. Awful. Poor attitude. Chased shadows away at Salford. Binned out to St Neots in the Southern Premier.

Fucking hell. We really have had some rubbish this season. :ffs::ffs:
