We don't have to pay the full 3.5 year contract off, just the amount up to the end of that season. It's how other clubs have managed to steal our managers for so little in the past.

Ah I see, double edged sword then.

i just cant think of many managers that jump out as being in demand though.... Askey, Parkinson, McPhillips, Fullarton, Campbell are the only ones who may take up a non league job off the top of my head?

Askey's still at Port Vale isn't he? Couldn't see him jumping ship. Did you mean Aspin?

I'm hoping we go after someone currently in a job. Challinor & Garrard jump out to me, or maybe we could go after Pete Wild just to make B2TF cry.

Bryan Hughes is taking training today.

Unreal scenes, firstly that we're actually training and secondly that he hasn't been shown the door by now.

Exeter have turned down an approach for Matt Taylor. Most assume it was Lincoln, or possibly Southend. Nobody seems to be considering it may have been Wrexham.

We can’t afford a door. We play on an old school field with railings around it.

So you can afford a clock at least, or was it just a case of training from the point where the sun is above the church steeple until it is above the town hall, then stop?
Not sure.

Anyway, our board have put out a statement backing the manager so we won't see any change soon. The majority appear to be against the board now which, to me, is baffling for a fan owned club. They've brought it upon themselves though and if our poor form continues things could turn very, very sour indeed.

The majority of RP are, but this does not indicate that the WST members are though (however many are left these days) and ultimately they will decide on any changes at the top. There's still enough old boys in that club who will remain as thick as thieves.

There's simply not enough people prepared to join the WST and overthrow the people in charge. It's gone stale with the current board, any fool can see that.

Any change that's implemented needs to be well organised. The board won't budge as no one was held accountable for the Barrow fiasco. They still haven't apologised.

Sounds like it was Mansfield.

Certainly wasn't us.

Ron won't pay compo to anyone, never been his m.o to go after in work managers.
I note Darren Currie of Barnet being heavily linked to the Southend job, unless he resigns another one Ron won't go near. He'd be mad to leave anyway, we'll be playing each other in league 2 next season.

We’ve heard these rumours too. The signs are promising for us but Darren hasn’t achieved anything yet.

Sheridan and Hughes way out in front now. Wouldn't be too shocked to see both of them go today

It'll probably be tomorrow after Fylde pump us tonight. There's no way the board would want such a toxic atmosphere on Saturday.

Hughes sacked.
or not...

the statement doesn't make it clear it he walked or was pushed - but either way there will be a few thousand happy Wrexham fans...

Following on from our previous statement, Wrexham AFC can confirm that further discussions between Bryan Hughes and the board have taken place and following those discussions all parties decided that a change was needed. The outcome is that Bryan has left his position of First Team Manager with immediate effect.

Poor guy. He probably wasn't up to it but I blame the players ultimately.

You're welcome to come after him, you won't get him. He's already talking about building year on year here. :ds:

Besides, everyone knows now that fan-owned clubs are a dead end- is it a case of too many cocks spoiling the brothel? Who knows but this is it now for Wrexham, this is as good as it's ever going to get for you. I envy you in a way, you're living your future, NOW. Sorry.
