Huddersfield were completely and utterly outplayed, out passed, out run, but somehow won 2 nil. I still haven't worked out how they did it. :dk:
Because they scored 2 goals, but did not concede any.

That isn’t the Stockport-related news I expected when this thread was bumped.
The Powers That Be are the ones who are behind Rusk, he's their man. Things would have to get much worse before he gets the chop.

It's only the great unwashed who are displeased.

Not sure mate.

Stott wants results and was questioning the style of play before the season started. I think any call to sack Rusk would come from Stott and be out of Wilson's hands.

This - Stott was unhappy with our style of play last season - add the football still being shit and us be nowhere near the top and he’s gone.

Surely there'll be some news coming out of Edgeley Park this evening.

Toss up between Rusk and Phil Brown for first chop of the season I reckon.

Rusky is at least leading this.
Got to be a question of when, not if.

And the bigger question is who replaces him...

He won't get the chop, he might walk though. I can't see either happening myself. Throughout his career he hasn't been the type to walk away and this is his last chance saloon in management, when we finish 15th or so he'll be done and have to retire due to not being able to get any kind of job his ego requires.
I wasn't for his re-appointment in the first place but I think we need to get through this season with him and then see what's what in the summer.
The positive now is we have a CEO, just have to keep our fingers crossed he's strong enough to keep Ron away from the hiring process.

Surprisingly ruthless by your board. Any names in the frame?

Surprised at the timing, particularly after 2 decent away results, but I think Searle had lost the fans and was ultimately hugely out of his depth at this level. Shame it didn’t work out for him as he seems like a really nice guy, but the right decision from our board IMO.

Only names currently in the mix (that I’ve heard) are Mark Molesley and Neil Smith. Molesley would definitely be the popular choice for supporters.

No idea although Neil Smith has co-commentated on a couple of our games for BBC Surrey this season. Read into that what you want.

Personally the timing suprised me given its off the back of 4 points in two away games, which makes me think that the decision wasn't made over the weekend.

Reading Shotsweb last week, it was quite toxic regarding Danny Searle and with supporters bickering to the substitutes at half time on Saturday, he had to go.

I've had very limited exposure to Mark Molesley coached sides but he certainly had his team playing football the right way at Weymouth. Southend fans will be far better placed to advise on his coaching credentials (or lack thereof).

Manager with a proven track record of turning round a failing squad. Can work within a tight budget?

Although Southend are such a basket case that it's hard to judge Molesley on his time there.

Mark Molesley seemed like a decent guy. He couldn’t sign any players due to an embargo on the club till November so he wasn’t given an easy ride but our performances were dire there’s no escaping that. I would rather him be in charge right now than Brown, mind

Ruthless, but Kewell was so incompetent that it was hard to see how things can get better under him.

Brennan as "caretaker" - I think in practice it's his job to lose now.

Not sure TK sees Brennan as a manager at this level now. In fact given what went on at the Stones with him last season, I would tend to agree with him. Out of the frying pan etc with DB..
