Stockport County.
He's rang Stott begging it. Sorry he said no and all this. This was on Friday. Not surprised to see the Hartlepool players throw it in today.

It's up to Stott now, some people don't like being turned down once and never go in again. If Challinor is who we want, that is who we'll get.

The pull of this club is just too big. No disrespect to Hartlepool.

Lets see what we decide.

Challinor on Stockport job speculation: "I was odds on favourite for the Tranmere and Wrexham jobs over the summer and nothing happened there. "There's nothing to report, yet."

In fact the last minute of his radio interview after the match seemed to me like he wasn't against the idea and finished with 'if there's any news from myself, the club, then obviously press will be first to know, but there is no news at the moment'

Could've dismissed it outright there and then but didn't, consider me slightly more worried than I was a few days ago :ohm:
Would not blame him if he went, We don,t have a nasty bastard on the pitch, Stockport do.
By that i mean a player who is willing to get stuck into his team mates.
There,s nothing worse for a manager than watching his players pass the buck.

The likes of Donaldson or Noble were that type.

There,s nowt gracious. about defeat, Thats being naive.

Looks a lot more likely after the world’s worst denial. Think it’s pretty obvious he wants it but does want to hang himself out to dry in case it doesn’t happen.

Stelling looks a bit of idiot now. Not as in the know as he thinks.

I think Parkinson may see out the year but the job should be free in the summer. Take Pools to a mid table finish in L2 and then he can name his price.

I'm in the 'Stelling is an idiot' camp. He's always spouting utter guff.
He's way past sell-by, he turned into an idiot a long time ago. I haven't seen that show for years but dread to think what it's like these days amongst all the nu-footy Youtube banter that has taken over football.

I wouldn't judge the betting too much, it'll be a pretty small market and a few bets here and there will swing the odds massivley and make them pull the market as they'll think they don't know enough about it and could get caught out by people that do. Bookies are strategic.

I think we'll know more this week.

Just saw that Pools got slapped 5-0 yesterday, so no wonder he’s flirting with the Stockport job! He’s probably thinking he needs to jump before he gets pushed…:ohn:

Nah just another limp wristed away performance as per, DC could be caught on camera, shoplifting, kicking dogs, injecting heroin and Sieg-Heiling down the street and I don't think he'd get sacked.

If that’s what you’re after as a manager then just appoint Joey Barton instead.

Haha, course not. That stadium just dropped out of the sky, and Danny Rowe was playing for his love of Kirkham and Wesham.
Just going by what DC said when he came to us
He didn’t,t think it was. Maybe he was fibbing.

Seen on Twitter that Sam Byrne, some Stockport reporter saying…

“County are now “increasingly confident” of landing Challinor and aim to have their man in place in plenty of time for the cup tie at Bolton next weekend. Nothing done yet.”

Seemed the obvious choice, you’d think he will get Stockport right into contention with that side to work with.

“Hartlepool United Chairman Raj Singh has told BBC Radio Tees Sport that Stockport County asked for permission to speak with manager Dave Challinor. However, Pools have refused the advances and reaffirmed their stance on the matter.”

To be honest, If he's going to have constant hissy fits about the squad that he signed, heavy defeat and toys all over at the first sign of money despite all that crap about how he'd always wanted to be an EFL manager. Just signed a new contract, what does that tell you? Stick around, lead a woefully under-resourced club in comparison to its support base to mid table then ta ra mate. Go to L1. Massive gamble this job and it is a retrograde step if he is indeed as ambitious as he says he is.

If he goes, he'll lose a lot of respect in my eyes and we'll boo him with the Grimsby.

Could do with a DC statement one way or the other tonight like.

I reckon Raj has done the right thing, putting the ball firmly in DC’s court now.

The clubs stance is clear. Time to see where DC stands now.

He has already agreed terms and wants to go, let’s see if he wants to push his move now.

Challinor has done a great job at Hartlepool. Not an easy job getting back to the FL.

IMO, this Ray Singh and the supporters of Hartlepool should do the decent thing and let him go. Free him and let him fulfill his dreams. He's paid you back long before.

It doesn't feel the right thing to do now, but trust me it will in a year or two when the big picture emerges.

And that is why I ask the forum in my quest

My quest to #freechallinor

Lets get it trending.

Remember that guy who was tied to a radiator in Iraq? Like that, this. Challinor stuck up at Hartlepool. Do the right thing. The honourable thing.
