What an appointment that is. Stockports hand on the trophy just slipped off. Cook has it already in the Barley Mow and is drinking lager out of it. A tremendous day for the club.

Definite momentum shift in the last week, starting with Stockport’s laboured win over Dover, then Chesterfield’s point at Edgeley, and now the Cook appointment.

If Stockport aren’t 6/7 clear going into that horror run-in I can see a few teams fancying overhauling them.

Things have just started getting serious down here. Us bringing in a quality manager to get us out of here, Southend on a charge after bringing in new backroom staff and Wrexham spending millions to ensure they can still finish mid table.

After all this talk about Cook being the best manager outside the top 2 divisions, I’m looking forward to Chesterfields inevitable defeat to beleaguered Weymouth on Saturday.

Stockport County.
I think Chesterfield have made the right call. He's a proven manager.

The 2nd half collapse on Tuesday under Webb was enough to show he couldn't adapt to the circumstances. 10 men or not you have to try and relieve pressure etc. Dover under Hessenthaler showed more with 10 men just days before.

What’s your point? We still came away with a draw despite playing a full half with 2 men less after the ref swapped into his Stockport kit at half time.

As shown in the first half, 11 v 11 you couldn’t live with us :dk:

Good to see your management getting into the ref kings Lynn style against us, in all fairness you'd realised from your previous game at Dover your only good playing against 10 men and the cannon fodder in this league. Gonna be good seeing you drop down the table like Wrexham's poorer cousin.

8 of us booked a cheap B&B and having a night down there. The fact Weymouth has a popworld is going to be a highlight for sure

Sadly looks like more upheaval for beleaguered Chesterfield fans.
