Lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth on our forum about our complete inability to defend from set pieces. And Wilbraham's miss late on, which stopped us getting a thoroughly undeserved and unlikely win...
It wouldn't have been undeserved, you looked absolute leaps and bounds above us. We are by far the worst team in this league. Felt like Wilbraham could've had a couple late on.

Drew 1-1 at Accrington.
Had enough chances to win it, but was hanging on for a point in the end.
No Liam Boyce today as he was playing for Northern Ireland.
And you just knew billy kee would score against us.
Fairly happy with a point even if we are atill
Lower mid table

We should have been out of site by half time but unfortunately we just don’t have anybody who can put the ball in the back of the net.

We’ve been the better team in all 7 of our matches so far but somehow we only have 4 points. Like the Pompey poster has written, if we had a goalscorer then we’d piss this league. Hopefully Askey gives Okenabirhie a chance soon as he could be the answer that we’re looking for.

I reckon the game against Southend next week is the game where we finally get a win.

We’ve been the better team in every match we’ve ever played but somehow find ourselves in league one.

Shrewsbury pissing the league, give me strength. Think one good season has gone to your head, sir.

Apart from the game against Luton, we’ve had the most attempts over our opponents in every game. We just haven’t got a goalscorer!

Just because we’re called ‘Shrewsbury Town’ doesn’t mean that we’re not capable of winning this league. That’s not how football works, my friend.

No, but the fact you are one of only two sides that haven’t won a single game does.

You seem to forget that there are two ends of a football pitch and you obviously concede enough to put you in the bottom four.

I don’t mean to sound like ‘one of those’ fans that blame this that and the other, but we’ve had a few poor refereeing decisions go against. We’ve given away 4 penalties in our last 4 games which is abysmal and I’d say today’s decision was a bit soft to be a penalty for my liking.

Obviously it’s not just the refs though, Waterfall is not good enough to be in a League 1 side and Beckles gives away too many silly fouls which has and will continue to bite us in the arse.

Overall though, we’re not a million miles away from becoming a team that can challenge up the top. Just need a couple of wins and we’ll be on our way. Why Peterborough let Anthony Grant go I don’t know. The bloke is class!!

Much more reasoned than just saying “we would piss this league with a goal scorer” then listing off reasons as to why you wouldn’t such as giving away too many penalties and cheap fouls.

Shrewsbury were fantastic last season but I personally thought you would struggle this season after the comedown, losing players and the manager.

Peterborough seem to be doing ok without Grant in fairness.

One thing today’s League 1 results have shown is how to prevent Luton fans from hogging threads.

The real battle this season is who can throw away leads better, us or Bradford.

Bradford have us beat today but we will go again next week.

Cov fans, what's going on with Jordi Jones? Did he never make it back from injury?

Even by our standards that was spectacular. 3 individual mistakes just to make it worse, only a few minutes earlier I was complimenting how well the back 3 a keeper had played, I;ll be keeping my gob shut until full time in the future.

Hopkin was spot on though, he was only able to bring 3 kids on, where as they brought 3 men on, I know we have some injuries but we already had a few kids starting as well. Simply unacceptable, considering how good our team was in 16/17. It was always going to be difficult to hang onto some of the players we lost, but it's the replacements that are unacceptable. This is the chairman's philosophy, so I'll hold him responsible, not Hopkin, good luck to him.

Is David Ball a "kid"? He's 28!

Hold our beer mate.

What about Jack Payne, how is he doing? He created every chance we had in the first half of last season and it was enough to have us outside the relegation battle at least.

Apologies to anyone who saw us on Sky.

Jones was absolutely superb when Coventry beat us last season. In a perverse sort of way the injury has allowed you to keep him longer than you might have been able too previously, and if he gets back to what to the level he was prior to the injury you should get a decent league 1 season out of him at the very least. Although im sure you would have loved him last season!

Clearly a good player, got quality that is sadly missing throughout most of the squad. Top scorer so far not saying much, but his goals in our 1-0 wins against Shrewsbury and Burton are the only reason we aren't bottom.

Not easy to find a place for him however, we know he needs to play but he's hard to select for the reason he's more an attacking mid, at this level the best teams are hard working and organised imo and do the basics well. I'd say he's almost too flashy, and one of them I'd say would probably be better playing in the championship, where a lot of teams play 1 up top.

One of the more grating interviewees there is. Great that we no longer have to hear his whining on 3CR any longer, dont think they ever lost a game without it being the referees fault or some other extenuating circumstance.

And yes I am aware that we have Nathan Jones doing much the same!

Very gifted player. Will be interesting to see where he fits into our team.
His first stint in League 1 wasn't anything special.

You're right about not selling him. He would have certainly gone had he played a full season.

And you had the likes of Graham Westley/Darren Sarll who liked a good moan too!

Mind you Paul Tisdale sounds a bit dull and they probably don't get much out of our managers so some personality or good copy in terms of quotes is probably good for them.

Are you getting your Luton and Stevenage mixed up or am I missing something? Luton did have Money and Still who liked a good moan, though.

Yeah bbc 3 counties radio (beds, herts, bucks). They cover us, Watford, Stevenage, MK Dons and Wycombe. I quite enjoy there post game interviews they do as all the managers in the region tend to have certain tropes they always fall into, its somewhat enjoyable to count the times Ainsworth mentions the word “budget” and “my boys” for instance.
