I'm in my early 20s, so never saw the players you mentioned. Obviously, we used to play at higher levels, but I wasn't there to see it.

I see Burton's game has already been postponed. Are Ipswich going to postpone our game?

Look at my earlier post __ You just need to expand answer at bottom. But I think you've already answered my question with your answer above.

Can anyone tell me what the Football League record is for most goals conceded in a season? Least points in a season? Most consecutive defeats? Most home losses? The earliest someone's relegation has been confirmed?

We're really going for a record breaking season..

Personally don't think we'll get any of the records - most held by Doncaster circa 1998 I believe. Didn't Cambridge also have a season at this level in the 80s where they didn't win away and still hold the record for consecutive losses and games without a win.

Our season changes in January when Sol and co clear some of these wasters out and get some loanees and players that actually want to be here in. It'll be too late but at least we'll be competitive.

Utter fools, their kids would beat us, more likely this game is played in the new year now where we will put up much more of a fight.

Sorry to say Shrimpurh, but I wholeheartedly agree - you are absolutely woeful. Even big Hermann won’t get you out of this one.

With his track record of relegations, appointing Big Hermann was like bringing in the grim reaper.

How do you clear out the wasters? They’re all on contracts and decent ones as well if you’re to believe Ron. I think we’re going to have to suffer till May when we can have a massive clearout and start out fresh

The ones we want gone most are only contracted till May/June so I don't think it will be that difficult to cancel a few or just offer them to any club willing to be stupid enough to take them on.

We have no say in this sadly.

Interesting debate about JCH. A good player (when fit) - but "would walk into any League 1 attack" - no chance.

Ian Henderson has just been named player of the month for L1 for October. He's averaged 20 goals per season for the last 6 years in L1. But Hendo wouldn't walk into any other L1 attack, either - Peterborough (already sorted), Rotherham (was apparently crap on loan there 15 years ago) and Ipswich (Hendo is from Norwich) would all be unlikely.

Tell you what, though - Calvin Andrew has been a decent servant to us for a few years, but is now struggling for starting game time. If JCH gets fit, maybe a swap deal with the Gas?? :)

JCH had it for September before he got injured ;)

Henderson is a very good striker and would also walk into most, if not all attacking line ups in this division

Any Coventry fans on here know if Saturday is likely to go ahead or are you expecting some late international call ups?

Harry Lennon who is actually fucking shit was caught out having a beer in his Southend tracksuit with a Dover player appearing to be celebrating Dover winning on Instagram on Sunday night. He is now training with the under 23's. The whole thing was blown out of proportion but when there is a clear divide emerging between fans and players his complete and utter stupidity to let that be seen online has made him public enemy number one. Idiot

Liam Ridgewell is close to leaving too which is great news he played 45 mins was fucking shite and has been injured ever since. Awful signing see you later.

Good news both of these as I was beginning to think Sol will be thinking about walking away it's not like he needs the money(successful in property) but this show he is committed to making this work beginning to clear out the shed load of dead wood and punishing these idiots we have as players at the moment. They all need their heads knocking together.

I've just looked at the league table for the first time in a few weeks and I can't actually believe how shit Southend are! 48 conceded in just 17 games?!

Also didn't realise that Saturday's opponents Lincoln are in fact now below us in the table - I though they were supposed to be good?

Anyway, after last nights 2-0 demolition of some children from Tottenham, we look to try and improve on our frankly boring form of late. Tom O'Connor is away on international duty, so either Barry Fuller will switch to left back or Bradley Garmston will come in from the cold to take his position.

Bonham
Tucker - Ehmer - Ogilvie - Fuller

Jones
O'Keefe - Byrne
Charles-Cook

Mandron - Hanlan
Walsh, Hodson, Lee, Pringle, Jakubiak, Ndjoji, Marshall on the bench.

2-0 Gills. Cold day.

Where have you been reading that we're good? We were never as good as our opening handful of games, never as bad the few after that and October was always a toughie - Ipswich, Sunderland, Peterborough, Oxford. In fact, we've played 8 of the top 9 in the last few weeks.

We had a good result last night despite 9 changes. Our defence was a winger at RB, CM and LB at CB and although Coker is an LB it was his first competitive game in 12 or 13 months. It was also Frecklington's first minutes for probably around 9 months but also got minutes into others as well.

They'll be changes again come Saturday. Bolger is back from suspension but we'll be missing Lewis and Morrell who're on Wales international duty although Morrell would have been suspended anyway so it's worked out well.

O'Connor went off injured at Ipswich so we could be without all our first choice CM's.

Up to now under MA we're not conceding many (8 in 9) or giving up too many chances but we're not scoring many (8 in 9) but are creating more than our GF column would suggest.

Our mainly back up players/Academy players beat a weakened Crawley team (assume so anyway) 4-1 in the Abomination Trophy last night. A mention for Tyler Goodrham, who came on as a sub, and therefore became the youngest ever player at 16 years and 98 days in the professional era for Oxford. We got 3 penalties in the game and the Crawley player got sent off for the foul on the 2nd one.

Our next game is Southend away on the 23rd. Basically this has become a mid season break as Karl Robinson/coaching staff and the players are having a short break iirc. Gives the players a useful break considering all the Cup games we've had.

Coventry away. And an annoying two players missing through international call-ups. And Coventry are quite useful this season. Defeat expected, but it's Coventry, who seemed to have a knack of losing cup ties against us when we were really crap...

You're being incredibly unfair to shit, I don't think there is an adjective known that adequately describes just how bad we are.

3-1 win tonight. Play-offs are on

I wouldn't get too excited just yet. Only one of our side tonight would be a first-choice and we had 8 kids who started or came on as sub. Surprised we didn't lose by more!

It was only sarcasm. But a win of any kind is most welcome

Stopping the rot, however it is done, in whatever competitive game can't be underestimated.

Yeah, I know. Thought you actually played some nice stuff at times.

81 away fans were announced in the lowest ever Roots Hall attendance, I thought Wimbledon fans generally boycotted this competition? or was the 81 just club officials and players families?

You got us on the 23rd at home, that is always a positive result for you.

If we lose to Oxford you know just how bad we really are.

Ron's been on the radio again, changed his tack from 'these players are too good to go down' to 'they've been atrocious and we'll get as many out as possible in January'.

Was just checking our record v Coventry and we're a proper bogey team of theirs. That said I can't see us getting anything out of tomorrow. I'm going more as an excuse to tick of St Andrews rather than expecting anything.

Bit late I know, but we have no international players at all, unless there is some obscure player in the ressies who plays for Tuvalu .
We are at last getting some players back who've been injured for yonks, don't think they are in the squad for tomorrow but they will be next week.
You are such a bogey side I think I'll take the draw now and move on. Enjoy St Andrews, at least we are playing on a decent pitch this season
