You guys seem to be flying.
What’s happened to best footballing team in league,BPA must be some team?

They're bang average and will be mid table, but they did the classic away win tonight. Jam a goal from a set piece and park the bus. It happens.

Slightly more concerning is this has happened to us 4 home matches in a row (though to be fair Kiddy and especially Boston were really good teams)

Don't you worry about us, we'll be top 7 when it comes down to it.

Oh Maguire had to come off after 25 minutes...injured. Looked like a groin strain.

I actually hope MacGuire does well for you good player but always injured, deserves a break.
You would of thought after having your main striker (MacGuire) out for nearly all last season, you’d learn a lesson?
No not York, they sign Jack Redshaw with a bad injury record,Guess what starts season injured.
Let’s see which one plays the most.

I think we were far too distracted with the weekend game in sight in a few of the player's minds. I'm hoping and praying AA has kept his three aces up his sleeve in playing 'Hatfield, Wheatley and Holness!

Otherwise we might as well not turn up at the weekend.

As for the playoffs I still think we are quite capable of reaching those, even though our home form is causing a bit of anxiety.

They took Asante from us and gave him a two year contract allegedly on a grand a week. A bit of a risk considering he's made of glass. Apparently if he'd still been with us we would be up there. We are toothless in attack w/o him and we always concede immediately after scoring.

Wow! that's some pay rise. I see why now he opted for a two year contract. Aye i remember you saying he needs wrapping up in cotton wool last season. He's definitely got a touch of class about him like, no doubt he'll be sorely missed by you guys, which is a shame like.

Pathetic from Alfreton tonight. We are bang in trouble.
I look forward to posting this time next week after defeats to Southport and Chester.
I doubt Kidderminster will have an easier win all season.

I say DSL your board of directors must be very patient.

Fed up of this already. We can’t hit a barn door. Fucking pathetic

I wouldn't be too disheartened, 3rd in the league with two games in hand.

We can't win a fucking game at home, not to worry i feel quite mellow.

FFS this nonsense about a grand week, he's on a good wage but nowhere frigging near that. He came because James Rowe developed him as a player at Birmingham, which ultimately is the biggest concern now because given that if anyone follows him to Chesterfield I have no doubts it'll be Asante.

First defeat of the season last night, with a narrow 1-0 defeat at Gateshead. Keeper should have done better for the goal but a good performance overall considering the suspensions and injuries we had (5 first team players out). Gateshead pressed really well, they always seem to be strong at home.

Rowe was a factor, certainly. But he was on £750p/w here and Asante himself told our press in the summer that you offered him more money on a two year deal at an uncertain time.

How ever much you don't want believe it, you should do.

We need defenders not strikers. Still not been announced as manager despite lots of noise from Gloucester based journos.

Well there is only one person with the casting vote and thats Wayne. Problem is he likes that still of football...doh. we are in big trouble

Yeah we replaced Max Taylor with Moyo for that added experience to counter Heath-ball and it worked perfectly. In the air Day had no joy. With Heath I can't see you challenging as he has no real plan B and you're not utilising Bradley at all.

Challenging? Lol Id settle for staying up and 20th place at this rate.

Id like us to go for John McGrath from Mickleover Sports. Working miracles to have them top of the NPL. He can bring George Milner with him too. Used to play for us too - McGrath that is.

Another late goal for Leamington. Fylde will be wondering how they didn't come away with three points..

With the greatest of respect I don't need to believe what he may have said to the press because I know the facts. He is not on that kind of wage and he came because of Rowe, as a consequence we got him on a financially prudent deal wage wise. However I have no doubts whatsoever that he'll follow him because of it.

Haha, ok.

Not sure why you think he would lie about that.

But carry on.

I shouldn't worry too much about Chester, we can't defend and we can't finish. We were lucky to play Kidderminster before they got into their stride. Doubt we're good enough for playoffs. Looks like we're going to be down here longer than Stockport.

I think we've got an half decent squad, but Bern and Jonno are clueless from a tactical point of view.

He was on top wages at Chester and he wouldn't have moved to a little outfit like Gloucester unless they made it worth his while.

Blimey. I dont think you realise how poor we are. If you think Bern and Johnno are clueless I dread to think what impression Billy Heath`s hoof would have on you. Time for some perspective.

Will he be the only one? Or will he have a clan following him around like a few lower league managers seem to have. A bloke called George Foster is being touted as his assistant

George Foster was No 2 last season, we played at Leamington and lost 3 nil in a useless performance and he did the interview afterwards, he came across completely clueless. Was never seen again.

I’d been stalking this forum for a bit and saw your concerns over Heathball. Darlos manager after the game made it sound so simple how he countered it, then I watched you against Harriers Tuesday... Jesus he can’t last much longer can he?

Welcome mate. Saw your posts on the Kiddy forum. You nicked my stat about it being our worst start for a while!

Difficult to say. All down to our chairman - Wayne. His interest has been waning for a while. With no fans in and more importantly these poor performances having no impact in falling attendances. I fear he will take his time and he may even not act at all. He is deluded enough to believe that relegation wouldnt be a disaster financially. That said in 2017 when it was clear we were heading for the drop he acted then. Gone for Christmas I hope.

Nuts... there’s me thinking changing my alias for on here would keep me anon mate that stat was a cracker, had to steal it! Reckon the fans and the chairman himself are happy being “good little Alfreton”, it wasn’t that long ago you had a good amount of ambition in the league above?

We have very little ambition. I believe the ambition is to remain at this level. Many other fans he wouldnt be overly bothered if we were relegated. Diffcult to say what impact the absence of fans and being classed as "elite" has had on his outlook on things.
I guess we will soon found out by how long he takes to pull the trigger on Heath.
What I will say is Wayne likes Billy`s style which is part of the problem

Really feel sorry for you in that case, not that it means much. Being happy to stand still makes you go backwards and I honestly think that’s something we’ve done in the recent past. The thing is you actually have some half decent players. Reeves’ record looks a find and we all know what Dan Bradley can normally do

Exactly. Reeves is excellent. Dan Bradley just simply isnt being utilised at all. Our defence is more than good enough to. Problem is its being put under too much pressure due to the lack of someone to hold the ball up upfront. Sad times at the min but nothing a semi-competent manager couldnt fix IMO.

Like I put in my report for our forum, that third goal summed your week up for me
