Kettering making some very uninspiring signings. Cameron Gregory signs after being released by Shrewsbury he was on loan here a few seasons back and looked good in pre season but wasn't good enough. Could've changed but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

And Andre Wright joins who has consistently flopped in this league. Fairly sure Gloucester, Telford and Hereford have had him among others maybe.

They made 2 other signings Brad Gascoigne who I don't know much about and Neo Richard-Noel who I also don't know about

Brad Gascoigne is absolutely awful. Barely NPL Standard

We've signed Keenan Quansah from Stalybridge today. Was their supporters' player of the year last season, and he looks a bit of a unit. Our only other signing this summer so far has been Michael Carberry from Bootle, who finished last season with us on dual registration and looked decent. Like last season we seem to be doing bargain basement signings with age on their side and a determination to progress themselves.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Have to say I admire how well Curzon have worked this summer considering the size of club, that they lost a lot of their attack talent and have all business done and dusted and squad complete…with others having about 6-7 players on the books.

Hard to say what happens. Last summer Curzon were as normal faves for the drop, at new year they had in my view the 3rd best side in league with lots of good attacking talent then through management change, injuries and players leaving it all fell apart……..how we did last year was an out the blue shock.

This summer a good chunk of that attack talent has gone and no surprise it’s a rebuild, but this summer we have signed dependable good at this level players, many who developed at Curzon then pushed on and have now returned.

Don’t see relegation at present, team to me is stronger than half the league currently, do I see a top 7 challenge, hmmm tough to say.

Curzon midfield may be best in the league, in centre and wide has a lot of good experienced players at this level if we can get them into form it’s easily the strong point, a lot of goals there also.

Key will be up front, I expect a more possession game now so need ability to hold the ball, and defence.

Bernard Mensah has gone. Signing permanently for Redditch, where he had a short spell on loan last season. Ultimately a major disappointment, he took a good proportion of the budget so hoping we'll see quality replacement(s).

Must admit when Clarke first brought him to Rovers I thought "Now thats a good signing". ( Based on what Shots fans had said ). But the lad had no idea -- simply lacked any cohesian and was running around the pitch like a young schoolboy. Hope this move works out for him.

Elliot to Borehamwood. I wish him well, but see that ending badly.

We've re-signed Ben Morgan after his release from Weymouth. Obviously a poor season overall for them, but with us the season before he was outstanding. We've hopefully got decent strength in depth at CB with Leadbitter, Nugent, Dignie and now Morgan who were all playing at NL level or above not long ago.

Went to watch Goole Town v Scarborough last night.
Scarborough are going to be in for a long hard season.Goole are a level 9 team and played them off the park for 60 mins.
Scarborough striker Luca Coalville looks a good player though.
Only having a plastic pitch will save them from drop.

We've re-signed Joe Foulkes on loan from Walsall, another good addition. Was brilliant before us before he got a nasty injury. Hopefully with another pre-season under his belt he'll find that form again

Another new signing Nat Knight-Percival 35 Yr old CB who spent most of his career in the FL was last at Tranmere last season. If his legs haven't gone that could be a great signing

That's an impressive signing but he's no David Wheater.

Looking into our squad with our recent acquisitions this season I think this year could be our best opportunity of reaching the play-offs?

I'd be very disappointed with our current squad that we've built up from last season that only just fell by the wayside towards the back end of the campaign that we couldn't ruffle a few feathers with the big financially backed teams like Boston and Fylde and one or two others come August!

We shall see! Come on Darlo!!

3 nil win at Bishops Cleeve last night in the first friendly, 8 trialists played. Three in particular (one a return from last season..) really looked very decent. Matt McClure I'm hoping is back to full fitness, played entirety of second half and scored. Definitely one of the best if not the best forward in this league, we massively missed him last season.

I already said that we will win the league or come close.

Providing that Wheater is able to play regularly and Maddison can get near the form that he is capable of...and we don't sell him after 5 minutes if he does...just those two will help immensely because they are way, way above this level.

A bit of an idle boast coming up now but I don't think any one else in this division has a player of the quality of either.

We're good to go.

I like your optimism and confidence of the best possible outcome. I'm not knocking it I think It's good....I think I'd somewhat agree in saying we shouldn't be far away this season that I do know of. I wouldn't be very happy as a fan if we failed miserably again with the improved squad that AA is putting together....

Those two alone are head and shoulders above this standard of football in this league, again like you say providing Wheater stays fully mobile for at least the better part of the season and Maddison can get back to the form that we all know that he's capable off.

Not an idle boast the honest truth nobody has the calibre or the level of their ability in this division.

Ready and raring to go.

He did ok,but didn’t stand out either. Suppose he was similar to many at Curzon last year, played well until end of December, lost some confidence early this year as form slipped then as season went on collapsed.

Defence was never the strong point last season with Curzon we leaked a lot of goals at times and relied on the attack to keep ball in other half, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is poor, at the end of the day we played an all out attack based game last year, most defences will leak goals when you do that, he may fair well in a more balanced approach.

I liked Beck but thought he would of done better at York.
For me Hazel is a very good striker, watched a quiet a few games last season at Whitby and will work off him brilliantly.think you will get play offs this season.
Would not expect much from Sukar though, he was poor for Whitby and made worst ever team of players that appeared for us during our time in NLN on our forum.

Really happy with Kenyon, needed that bit of experience in there. Heard nothing but positives from Morecambe fans.

I liked Beck when he was at York. Should do okay at Darlo.

He had a good season with us back in 2016/2017- finished the season as our top scorer with 18 goals.

If he can find his old scoring boots from a few seasons back he should be okay at this level.

Chester sign Alex Kenyon, ex-Morecambe, Scunthorpe and Ayr United.
We should be good for a play-off push with all the good stuff going on at the moment.
