Colchester at home to us final day so if we’ve got something riding on it would be good if they don’t.

Personally it would be ideal if dale and hartlepool stop up though that looks a push

The wheels seem to have fallen off Colchester's little revival.
One point from the last four games ,with no goals
scored, could see them having to scrap it out.

Tricky run of games to be fair - but a one goal defeat away at Carlisle thanks to a defensive howler and an unfortunate late defeat away at Bradford for two of the games is no disaster. Will get worse before it gets better I suspect looking at the next couple, then from late March we can hopefully get the three wins needed.

Hoping for a new manager bounce now too.

Colchester will have nothing to worry about based on last Saturday, too many far worse teams.

5 of our last 6 matches are against Bradford, Northampton, Stockport, Salford and Orient (with only Newport away tucked in there for respite), so I’m not ruling us out of this thread yet despite a remarkable upturn in form since Uncle Brad rode in to town

Crawley's games in hand are disappearing having made no progress. It's them and Rochdale heading to the National League for me, Clive.

Harrogate, once again proving that despite being utterly shite, they pull some random big wins outta nowhere

In a shocking development relegation certs Carlisle will be safe for another season if they win at the weekend or if Hartlepool fail to win. In fact if Pools lose then potentially the top 5 will be mathematically safe.
By a week on Saturday all the current top 10 could be mathematically safe, although all realistically on 45 (40 maybe?) points or more could probably not get another point this season and still stay up.

6 points from last two matches and an away win at the Wombles yesterday has given us hope - three big home games and all winnable - Doncaster, Rochdale and Grimsby - with players now coming back from injuries and getting match fit we look a much better side - it’s all still in our own hands

we have 7 home and 4 away matches remaining incl Hartlepool away

Said it yesterday but this Crawley renaissance will be the death of us and Rochdale, will leave us both with too much to do with so few games to play, we're playing well and if we weren't desperate for wins a point away at Bradford and one at home to Northampton would be seen as a good marker for us.

We still have some stinking home games to come as well, next three homes are Orient, Swindon, Stevenage, a midweek win for Crawley will probably knock the stuffing out of Rochdale and leave us punch drunk on the ropes.

Really want you and Dale to stay up. Is it too much to ask?

More than likely.

We fucked our generous run of games in January/Feb and we will pay for that.

To be honest, bit of a downer at the minute pal but i suppose it's not quite done yet.

Can,t remember the last time Wimbledon won, Know its at least 10 since they did
And rank bottom of the form table.

Colchester, Crawley and Rochdale have all got home games against Rovers, which on recent form suggests an easy 3pts...

This is how I feel unfortunately. We have definitely stepped up since Askey has come in, the football is nowhere near as bad as we have had to watch all season long, and on the face of it points away at Bradford and Tranmere and at home to Northampton aren’t bad. It’s just the fact it’s simply not enough with the time we have left and Crawleys games in hand plus their little resurgence in last couple.

Fairly confident we will pick up a few results between now and end of season, which I wouldn’t have expected previously. I just think it’s going to be too little too late.

Really, really want colchester to go down after their disgraceful chants on saturday.

Use to be a proper lower league club with Layer Road but what is the point of them now with their grim motorway lay-by ground and bleak fanbase.

Send them down and keep proper clubs like Rochdale & Hartlepool up please.

There is a group of lads probably aged no more than about 16-21 that always behave pretty appallingly and, from what I've read from a number of accounts (from very respectable guys who you would always give credence to) it would have been the same small group at the weekend, backed on by a few extra day trippers who only go to a game once a year because it's the easy London day out. I wasn't at either game, but by all accounts, it was similar at Ipswich in the cup too back in August.

I always found that we had a good following really - small home attendances, but a respectable % of that travelling away, particularly considering the usual distances involved, and generally creating a fair atmosphere too. Six or seven years ago it was noticeable that there was a much younger group getting involved in the noisier part of the ground which is a good thing in that you'd hope it will gradually help to grow the crowds, but now they're of an age where they can drink too much and whatever else they're doing and they seem to have developed into Milwall wannabes.

I'm not sure why football tends to attract these people who think that they can behave as abhorrently as they like simply because they're at football, but you don't half get some right dickheads.

Every club has some dickheads mate but I would expect the fans to police themselves to a certain extent because that was dickheadery of the highest order.

What do you suggest? Wade in and deck them all? If every fan base policed itself then there would never be anything unsavoury shouted at a football match.

Pretty much. We had a EDL jolly boys day out at Brentford around a decade ago. Rest of the away end sang “Fuck off you Nazi scum” and faced them down until they left. They haven’t been back in any numbers since.

As for relegation, Hartlepool fans will no doubt be delighted to hear that we’ve got an EFL virgin referee for our game this weekend. Pretty sure he’s spent the past eight years stuffed in a school locker.

Yes.
Tell them to shut the fuck up, or shut them up!
I don’t think signing about JED being dead is “unsavoury”, it is fucking despicable.

Of course it is, but pinning it on the fans that didn’t go and beat them all up is a bit much. Didn’t Gillingham put out a statement earlier this month because of the number of racist incidents? Why haven’t the fans put a stop to it?

It was aimed mainly at the sexiest chanting towards female Physio’s, and there were a lot of Gills fans shouting them down.
By the way, I am not blaming all Col U fans for not shutting them up but the longer they go unchallenged the more empowered they feel, the fucking weasels.

Chances are it's some lads who've watched green Street or football factory one too many times. Sprinkle in some stories about hooligans in the 80s and they think they're in a "firm" and go round giving it large home and away.

After today's games time is fast running out for Rochdale. realistically they need a miracle. Today's loss leaves them 10 points behind Crawley and much as i'd like to see them stay up i can't even see them getting 10 points.
As for the other place it's between Colchester, Crawley and Hartlepool - but all are picking up points - so it might need 42-44 points to stay up. It's not looking great for Pools - but 1 win for them and losses for the other 2 changes everything.
