Same here, we looked buried at Christmas. Rochdale were above us for heavens sake

Thank god the Galinsons came when they did

Think the jaws of relegation have consumed rochdale.

Ideally id love to for 2 southern sides to go down (sorry) but it’s hard to see how rochdale and hartlepool will survive.

The only benefit is that they look to be replaced with proper northern sides coming back up.

No-ones a southern based league, it’ll be more limp wristed than the french

You mean like Woking or Barnet?

Barnet have Cropper with Exocet throw which created 3 crucial goals in our play-offs campaign - including the winner in the final.

Great result for us today. Would have helped if Pools, Harrogate and Colchester lost.

I think we have four away games left. One agaist Hartlepool could be crucial. Now if Grimsby could please stop being our bogey side on Tuesday it would be appreciated.

Do Wrexham count as a proper northern club? I’m not sure what with being a limp wristed southern softy an all

Colchester can go though, especially after the JED chanting last weekend and that fucking awful ground

Sadly Rochdale do look doomed and with a tough list of remaining fixtures mainly against sides in the promotion/play-off mix.
Colchester look as though they’ve enough to survive, with depth in their squad, which the other contenders lack. Crawley look to have hit some form now. Wouldn’t write Pools off yet, as Harrogate still in reach, but it will require some draws turning into wins to succeed.

Wrexham are northern in the sense they're from North Wales, but can't see much Northern participation in the play offs with Notts and Chesterfield throughly Midlands sides and some properly non league southerners such as Eastleigh, Woking and Boreham Wood.

No actual northerners in that lot.

They’d certainly define as northern than the alternative, i mean ultimately whoever goes down or up from a division does so on their performance over a season than their geographical location.

I suppose the contradiction is that i wouldn’t want county or chesterfield to come up.

All these draws have killed us, if we were a midtable side we'd be championing these points against promotion chasers, now it'll be the death of us.

It was more the “proper” part I have an issue with - they’re the fakest hobby club on the planet right now.

I know there’s a little gap now to safety but I’m still backing JA to get Hartlepool out of this. From a distance it looks like he’s got the teams performance improving but not the wins which is what he did at Vale. Eventually we got a win over Mansfield and from then on never looked back and I think the same will happen here.

Notts County are gonna end up on 100+ points and not win the league, given what absolute ball bags their fans are on Twitter I think it’s funny as fuck.
They will then go and bottle the play offs again too.

While I am still hoping Wrecsam implode and fail to go up, that seems unlikely. Despite being a local rival and these days a hobby team, would still rather see them up than the likes of Eastleigh or BorehamWood. Though with no rivalry issues with the midlands pair of Notts County and Chesterfield would be happy seeing them back in the FL.

No real preference and it could well be us who are replaced, but Woking have been a big non league clubs for ever and we have to allow progression for such clubs to avoid stagnation.

Eastleigh have gradually progressed over the years so they are not a Wrexham, bankrolled by wealthy hobby owners. So, like Sutton, they should be welcomed.

Not safe yet, but would be surprised if you don’t stay up.

Eastleigh were something of a hobby club and one of the masters of the dark arts when we were down in the NL, plus the ground’s in the middle of nowhere. Although the past owner moved on to Sunderland and don’t know much about current ownership, unsure they’d be an asset to the FL. Would have no issue with Woking coming up though, having been denied seeing them on home turf due to a frozen pitch.

Eastleigh used to go about calling themselves the Real Madrid of non-league and were paying players ridiculous wages with crowds of a few hundred.

Eastleigh. Hmm, I just remember them gradually getting promotions and building (we beat them Iin a FA cup game years ago and they grew from there). I didnt know about the Real Madrid claims....they can stay put.

When a bit of cash comes into your club it's nice and to be celebrated but you shouldn't get big headed about it. A few jibes about finally getting out of this tinpot league are fine and just part of the banter.

Eastleigh's sugar daddy went to Sunderland, didn't he? Left a healthy club behind, at least.

Eastleigh are fine as a club these days, but I'm perfectly happy for them to stay in non-league. In theory they have a good potential, with the site of the ground really quite large for the size of their current set up - they could build a good sized stadium there for sure if they ever needed to.

On the pitch they're what I'd call functional, better than the sum of their parts. They have a good defensive record but don't score many.

Either way, I'd much prefer Barnet to come up if it's to be one of the Southern lot, with not a lot between Chesterfield/Notts County in terms of preference if it's to be a midlander. Based in Northamptonshire neither are a million miles away.

I would class Chesterfield as being a Northern club, only 13 miles south of Sheffield.

But in the same county as Derby, who are thoroughly midlands. For me the North starts at Sheffield on that side of the country.

Basically draw a line on a map from Chester in the west to Grimsby in the East, that's the cut off and it goes more or less straight through Sheffield!

But then you're discouting somewhere like Crewe which is definitley Northern.

I would go along from the Welsh Border and just shave it to the top of Stoke-On Trent.

Chesterfield I would class as Northern and therefore I reckon Mansfield just makes it but they're in on a techincality.

The Peak District is in the North.

Stoke, Derby and Nottingham have a general Northern vibe but they're just too much on the way to the Midlands for me.

IF you've got one of those West Midlands accents you're out on your own as being one a Brummie/Black Country type and then if you're anywhere south of there you're a Southerner.

The general rule of thumb is if you’re north of the A500 roundabout off J16 on the M6 you’re a northerner and anywhere south you’re into Staffordshire and therefore a midlander.

Rectum will deffo come up with the amount of money that pair of talentless turds are throwing at it, and they will be joined by Woking when podge fires them through the playoffs.
