Just when transport issues can't get any worse:

Strong chance I may have to skip the game now, but we shall see..............
This looks bleak.

I'll still be going via Newcastle myself, but this just makes an already tricky day of travelling all the more difficult.

But it would be rude to miss away at already-relegated-to-the-National-League-North-Carlisle.

Stevenage away. They’ve won 13 on the spin at home so will be a very tough game.

Wimbledon at home. Missing this one as I'm off to watch England v France in the RLWC. Shame as we always seem to have entertaining high scoring games v the Dons. Before Tueday I was fairly confident we'd get another win on Sat. But Quigley went off injured. If he's out of action for a few games we'll really miss him. That said it looks like Wimbledon have had a fairly shite away record so far so I'm hopeful we'll still be above the bottom 2 come FT.

That line won’t affect the services from London. Or are you travelling from elsewhere?
Avanti only are on strike this weekend, only one train up before the game and none back. The only way to get back on the same day as the game was to cut across to Newcastle and get back from there which I'd already booked to do.

Staying over night is a bit of a shit show too because the first train back the next morning is at 10.49am and takes 4 and a half hours to get back because of engineering works on the same day, meaning I will probably end up back home by around 5pm Sunday, which I can't justify doing right now.

I've done Carlisle by road a few times, don't really fancy doing it again.

For the first time in 18 years of only missing around 14 games in that time due to other commitments, this will likely be the first time the transport system has beaten me.

Probably watch on the stream instead, but won't be the same.

Nightmare isn't it.

We're going up to Newcastle tomorrow due to the Avanti mess, but now looks like we won't be able to train to Carlisle on matchday...

Hoping we can get the train as far as we can and catch a bus or something but god knows.

Will stay overnight in Hexham after the game as well so it's a long old weekend.

Can't wait for that tepid, 1-0 defeat now...

Best of Luck mate - Looking at things I think you will be able to get back to Hexham at least afterwards!

Sutton away expect us to spend the match hoofing it to each others defenders draw in a piss poor advert for the division.

We will get twatted. Expecting pretty much the same for a while. Hoping Menayese is back fit. Because if Murray and Lacey only fit CB’s it will be another proper pumping.

Just got to hope those around us keep dropping points and we aren’t too far adrift in January

We'll obviously kick-start Gillingham's season. How many goals have they scored this season? Two? They'll double it.

Now maybe somebody can explain to us thick fucks, WHAT benifit it is staying over night in a hotel
Costing god knows what.
Today I drove from Hartlepool back home to Swindon. 5 Hours in the driving rain. For the sake of £1,500 or so I wouldn't suggest that your boys attempt it on Saturday morning

Stevenage obviously aren’t bad, their record speaks for itself, especially at home. You are right to expect a tough game, particularly in trying to score. Anyone saying otherwise ignores the defensive aspects of the game.

Stevenage beat us, essentially, because they outmuscled us all over the pitch. Much as Cobblers did to win at the CG earlier.

I can’t see them being brushed aside as easily. I’ve backed Cobblers for a win.

If you can still get as far as Wetherby then it's not too bad a walk from there if the weather is alright, maybe half an hour.

EDIT: I meant Wetherall, obvs. Don't, I repeat, don't get off any trains in either Wetherby (in Yorkshire) or Weatherfield (fictional)

I've never seen a game that's got a 3-1 loss written over it more than this one.

Us? Score three goals?

I don’t think so.
I said the same before playing Hartlepool away last season, at which point they were PRECARIOUSLY sliding towards the relegation zone.

We've had an excellent start to the season all things considered, certainly in terms of points total if not overall performance levels.

But for me there are two standout teams this season in League Two. Stevenage and Leyton Orient. We've already faced Stevenage and were comfortably beaten without them even getting out of first gear. It was so easy it felt like watching a training session. With our injury crisis, particularly in the forward areas where we have 1 possibly 2 players at a push, I can only really see more of that dominance tomorrow with Orient. Think they'll simply have far too much for us even if we perform admirably.

Plus there's home record against Orient. Honestly can't remember the last time we beat them on Brunton Park. It must be well over a decade.

Carlisle United 0-2 Leyton Orient

Not a crisis as they are a good team.

That was the start of our mini run of wins that BOLSTERED our position as mid table Andies last season.

Doesn't look like it affects the west cost mainline
Avanti on strike tomorrow though so if going by train you now can’t get back on the same day. The next day the first train back is around 11am and takes nearly 5 hours to get back, due to engineering works, sadly for myself and a few others due to all this we’re having to admit defeat in going. The only way of getting home tomorrow was getting to Newcastle afterwards and that option has been taken out of our hands.

In terms of the game, we’re similar to Brighton at the minute - lots of possession but not being effective with it and not taking chances we do create. We need to learn how to break sides down who sit deep if we’re to maintain our good start.

If Paul Smyth and George Moncur can get on the ball and have a good game each we have a chance of getting something.

A draw here wouldn’t be a total disaster or unexpected given we’ve both lost once, we’re unbeaten away and Carlisle unbeaten at home.

I know it’s early but I’m really hoping we see some semblance of a style of play we are going to try and achieve

There is also the Carlisle to Leeds line?!
