I was right about it being a tight game...

Both fans saying it was shit because neither side were passing it around at ease. Neither side let the opponents do it IMO. Two evenly matched sides. Would have been a draw 9 times out of 10 that.
We had multiple chances including two headers from point-blank range and they had none. I’d suggest that would lead to us winning most times.

We were more likely to nick it but it was a draw more often than not.

I personally enjoyed it. Two sides battling and not giving either side an inch. I don't mind a draw, it's good to test the waters of this league. I know our fans want us to do a double promotion, I'm happy going again next year and not having the handicap of our dreadful start.

Disappointing as this is, Colchester is much more important on Saturday
The only positive is that we've played most of the top 7 and all the top 4 away now, realistically we were getting nowt tonight but it's disappointing that we keep shipping horrendous goals, we have to be stronger. Hartley and Menayese from the highlights, absolute liability. Less said about Spillip the better. We have to find a way to compete with other sides that aren't bottom 6. We aren't reading their runs, completing basic clearances and we don't have the legs when we get countered on. Colchester is no gimme either but it's simply a must win. After that we don't have too many games you'd say we have a strong chance in.

Kristian Dennis joint top scorer in the league now and with 17 in all competitions.

I bet Mansfield fans will now wish they had him in their team.

Kristian Dennis has always been a good goal scorer. 2 niggly injury seasons with us and he still scored 26 in about 50 games!

That was in the NLN though.

Killip looked awful on crosses, but I thought he made a couple of decent saves - particular from Senior when he followed up the save that denied Dennis a hat trick. I thought we played well at times but still get the feeling there is more to come from this squad.
This description is Killip in a nutshell, yes he is a good instinctive shot stopper, but has nothing else to his game, won’t ever leave his line, petrified of balls into the box, his distribution can be piss poor as well.

I know our defence has been piss poor all season, but it can’t be easy when the GK behind you instills absolutely no confidence throughout the team.

I get the feeling Curle would’ve fucked him off sooner had we anyone else who could’ve stepped in, hopefully this lad loaned in from Leicester us into the side on Saturday

Yep he’s an absolute menace whenever we play against him he always scores against us, even playing in that awful Chesterfield team that got relegated to non league he still managed to score against us too.

I didn't particuarly expect him to have the goal return he did. When we signed him last January (and to be fair to him the fact Millen was manager at the time probably lowered my expectations) I thought it was just a case of getting in an experienced head in the hope he could get one or two and contribute to a relegation battle. Mostly that's what he did for us last season though looked like a better player under Simmo. This season he's been a revelation sniffing around for defensive errors, with a few goals on the back of good attacking play thrown in.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Watching the Carlisle highlights the loan forward from palace seems a right handful, looked well involved on most attacks.

Gordon looks a cut above most premier league loanees - he's clearly got class, but what impresses me is his work rate - the lad gives it everything. Big future ahead of him, and could easily have gone to an upper league 1 side.

For what it's worth, I saw enough from a few of your lads last night to tell me you'll get out of bother. Hopefully we can do you a favour at Rochdale on Saturday.

Unfortunately, every team know‘s Killip is weak as piss in the air,so bombared us with crosses.
If the new keeper doesn’t start Saturday,I reckon he’ll be on the phone to go back to Leicester & proof that Curle has lost the plot.

Can’t help but feel the ‘linked with’ Hartlepool team is very different to the one they’ll have on February 1st.

Wasn't he Bradford's main scorer earlier in the season - now out of favour?

16 goals in all competitions - even though his last goal was on the 19th Nov.

Piled on weight like he usually does around Christmas time. Started his last game on Boxing Day at Carlisle. Had a shocker and was dropped. Vadaine Oliver came in and scored a brace and Cook’s been benched ever since.

It’s like playing with 10 men with Oliver on the pitch, largely due to lack of service. But I think Cook will start Vs Mansfield. It’s his ex club and he’ll be up for it.

Back on topic, Cook isn’t going anywhere.

Remember when he started at left back for us one game ffs. Played a fair bit out wide too.

That berk Neil Young came in and told him “i can better two better players for your wage” and replaced him with Lamin Colley whilst we paid part of his wages on loan to Macclesfield. Scored about 25 goals for them and they got promoted to the league!

Classic county.
