From our starting lineup you'd think Brabin had picked the names out of the hat. Mackreth and GTF both had decent games last week and neither are in the first 11, Mackreth not even on the bench.

Again, as it stands, Lincoln, Bromley, Barrow and Woking will all be here next year.

We're poor, Aldershot are worse. On initial viewing Lafayette should have got a straight red but got yellow. Brown (?) should also have got a second yellow for a cynical one.

Half time at Meadow Park, what a difference half a season makes. Wood have some good players, but fuck me they're Kidderminster / Welling levels of bad today. They haven't had a shot on target or one closer than 30 yards.

Southport by contrast look very very good. Fancy them to get another, completely in control. Bishop, Jones and Almond running the game.

Matt Robinson put us in front before Brian Saah gave away a stupid penalty and Bowman converted. There's no one here and neither side really looks bothered. About 10 Gateshead fans.

Higdon is forgiven for his previous awful performances.

1-0 Rovers.

Keeper flaps, so he gives a foul. Absolute joke.

Only listening on the radio, but you sound equally toothless. What did Lafyette do? Comms barely mentined it.

Oh we were dire as well. It was like a conf north game first half. Big studs up one on our left back. Could well have been one of those ones that looks worse in the moment mind.

Fair enough. As for the keeper flap, apparently your man just jumped straight into the keeper with no chance of getting the ball.

Two chances. Two goals.

We're down and we deserve it.

More than enough of the ball and the game to make a very poor team pay and we haven't been able to do it.

Two chances?

According to the BBC we've had 13 shots and 6 on target. We've certainly sounded the better team, you haven't turned up second half.

I'd be surprised if there's been 13 shots between the 2 sides. If speculative dribblers count as chances then fair enough. On reflection there was a decent free kick save first half and one other very good chance. But you've honestly neither deserved it nor been the better side.

Haven't really turned up today. Disappointing (probable) end to the play off hopes. Credit to Dover though.

Aahh well, never mind. The three points secures us in this division next year, hopefully you'll be here too. Good club Halifax, nicest staff I've met on a matchday.

Back in our hands. Makes last Saturday no less frustrating though.. crazy league.

Cheltenham now only need 3 points to win the league. Kiddy and Welling down, 2 from 6 above them..

Halifax (h), Macclesfield (a) and Lincoln (a) left for Cheltenham. They're up.

Congrats, cracking achievement.

No surprise to see Rhead returns from injury as a sub and sets up the winner!

Bloody hell about 80 shots and 50 corners and no goals to show for it, now down to 4th and even though play offs are virtually guaranteed it's important to get that 3rd place and get the home leg 2nd as every time we've played the away leg 2nd we have ballsed it up.

It wasn't smash and grab by any stretch either side should have grabbed the game and bossed it. Neither did and you took your chances. Fair play, hope to have another visit to Aldershot next season.

Predicted a draw between Barrow and Macclesfield, and it was pretty even. Definitely one of the better visiting sides, but not a classic match.
Walker dived for - and converted - a penalty, and Livesey got announced as Man of the Match despite just about his ropiest performance in a Barrow shirt.

Also, some genius let Macclesfield's fans in through a home turnstile and both sides' idiot element exchanged handbags on the terrace with no police present...

Well that was a tad frustrating. Tranmere played some neat football at times in the first 20 minutes or so, but this was quickly overtaken by hoofball and a hell of a lot of play antics. Unfortunately the ref seemed to lap it up and allowed them to run the show, especially with regards to time wasting in the later stages. Decent header by Higdon in his only real sniff at goal. We could easily have equalised but for a few decent stops by your keeper.

Pleased to see we've not lost any ground though - Tuesday is a bloody big game now though.
