Coleman was very complimentary of us in the post match interview, saying he had no idea how he hadn't won more games this year. Think a draw was a fair result but it's a shame as a win today with 10 men for nearly all of the match would have helped our form massively going into a few easier games over the next couple of weeks. Need to follow this up with a win on Saturday now - if we drop points at home to Stevenage then we really don't deserve to be making the play-offs anyway.

Knew they'd equalise as soon as they went down to 10 themselves, it was just that kind of match; and like it probably was with us, going down to 10 maybe makes the players adjust their mindset from trying to play possession football and make the numerical advantage count (and Accrington were never going to score at that point) to 'what the hell, let's just attack whenever we can'.

We're a better team with Jabo, but we don't lack attacking threat without him with Asamoah, Gillead, Hope and Wyke all there to call upon. It's Danny Grainger we've been missing, with Grainger in the team we create far more chances and also have a very strong possibility of scoring from any direct free kicks around the danger area (to be rechristened the Grainger area) we get.

Not a bad point really, keeps us just 5 points off 7th with games in hand on everyone between us and 4 in hand on Mansfield.

Yes we did great but the awful referee ruined what I think would have been a great match from the first bleeding minute for the worst sending off I've ever seen given to a Carlisle player, I know the Stanley players bullied the ref into sending Jabo off but ref's should stand their ground and not be intimidated, this ref though was a complete wimp who had no control over the whole match whatsoever.

Even Accrington's manager said it was a terrible sending off and he also said we were superb and was surprised we had not won as many games as late. John Coleman seems alright all of a sudden now. :gr:

Our season really has been eventful with silly sending offs and crazy games, but all of this is very harmful to our chances of making the play offs as we are not getting enough routine wins, most of it is down to bad luck I think.

You don't see teams like Northampton getting players wrongly sent off do you? I wonder why.

He's been less effective recently, I think his last goal was mid-December. I'd rather have him in the side, but I'm not as worried about his suspension as I would've been earlier in the season (though Curle said on the radio he'd be disappointed if it's not overturned - that doesn't happen very often in the lower leagues).

Stevenage, Wimbledon and Morecambe up next, at least 2 wins from them I hope.

If its any consolation we've had two straight red cards this season and both have been rescinded.

Really? Well if ours doesn't get rescinded then there is something seriously messed up.

Ibehre's won't be rescinded even though it should be.

And I don't think the Accrington players bullied the ref into showing red. They didn't get the chance, the ref couldn't wait to pull out the card. Think it took him all of 3 seconds to take it out of his pocket and hold it up.

I've just seen some still photos of Ibhere's foul and I'm sad to say that it does look quite reckless even though his eyes are on the ball his foot is pretty high.

Do you remember when Nani was sent off for Man U against Real Madrid a few years ago? It was for a high foot/dangerous play. Similar to Ibehre's last night.

But Nani's studs made contact with Arbeloa's ribs. In this case Ibehre's leg just brushed past the side of the player.

I don't know if that makes a difference in the refs books, but for me Nani's was much worse.

I think it's a waste of time and money appealing. There's no chance they'll rescind it.

No chance that'll be overturned. Probably a bit unlucky it was given as a red so early but it's hard to argue that it's not dangerous play.

With studs showing. Would be very surprised if it was rescinded.

Can't see it happening, even if his studs weren't showing they still wouldn't rescind it because we never get these things go our way.

It's that Ibehre can't see the guy coming, and if anything the AS player runs towards Ibehre's foot as he's trying to get the ball. That's what makes it harsh. If Ibehre could see the player and had gone in And planted his foot into his ribs then I could see why it would be red.

I don't even think it was a yellow in this case. Minimal contact and the player ran towards Jabo's foot rather than the other way.

But no chance of a successful appeal. If we were premier league then maybe, but the FA can't be arsed to even look at these decisions.

This ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Ibehre was only trying to control the ball and didn't see their player coming in. At this rate, we'll soon revert back to the early days of footy, when not one player made a challenge, because players will be afraid to control the ball without lifting their foot off the ground.

Harsh red.

Wasn't Hackett's a foot in the face and a Hackett the aggressor rather than the other way round? Maybe not as the incident is out of my memory now, and it isn't on the YouTube highlights.

Hackett raised his foot to try and control a ball in the air and caught the Carlisle player waiting to receive the ball in the chest. Interesting to see how incidents get exaggerated in the mind

I'm surprised they've rescinded it, but think it's the correct decision and glad he can play a part in the next 3 games.

I'm shocked that they've rescinded it, but it is the right decision. It bugs me now that we wrongly had to play 90 minutes with 10 men.

Ref should have some sort of action taken against him in situations like this, who knows how the game could've gone had we had 11 men all match. Always bugs me that they're entirely unaccountable for their actions on the pitch unlike players.
