Hibs boss Alan Stubbs, fresh from winning the Scottish FA Cup, has now been officially unveiled as the new Rotherham manager. A three year deal has been agreed and his backroad staff may well join him, according to reports.

Now that's been sorted, I just hope he has enough backing and ability to allow us to enjoy next season. With Toon, Villa an Norwich coming down, Wednesday staying put and Barnsley joining us, it'll be a real shame if we spend all year fretting and chewing our nails, again.

Welcome aboard Stubbsy.

Not sure on him as a manager (hadn't even realised he had gone into Managing if I am honest) however was always a bit of a cult hero of mine growing up.

Same here. He's a complete unknown as a manager to me, but I regard that as a positive, as opposed to us appointing a serial sackings victim, which has so often been the case before.

Fantastic appointment. I can now lump every penny I have on Rotherham going down then retire early.

Nice. Just the sort of bloke you would want to employ and manage your side.

Yep, knows what he wants and goes for it, he ever left us in that fashion it'd be because he's done a cracking job where we'd still be in this division, so I really wouldn't give a fuck.

I say this with all respect to Rotherham, but Scottish cup winners to violent relegation battle with Rotherham in a fortnight says a lot about footy North of the border.

Hmm. Warnock back firefighting as the new year rolls in.

I tweeted that hibs physio earlier on (who's just as nice) her most recent tweet is to Stubbs' daughter.

I'd stick username on but I'm at work at minute so can't check.
Just checked, both have caterpillars for eyebrows and the daughter has the Stubbsy pecker

Who can ever be sure a new manager will work out or not?

You can only welcome them to the club, wish them well, and hope it works out.

Good luck Alan so long as we see the team is working hard and doing their best, the fans will back you.
I'm sure TS will do all he can to give you a reasonable budget.

He's one of those who will either do fantastically well and have Rotherham in the top half, or he'll be dog shite and they'll be down by March. His stint at Hibernian isn't all that impressive, the Scottish Cup win was fantastic but masks over his failings to get them promoted. Time will tell on this one.

Glad you've still got your humour flower cos you won't in February when you're relegated and can get back to your natural level.

No way on earth the promoted teams will finish above us let alone the others in dire straights like Blackburn and Reading.

Hope Alan Stubbs going to Rotherham will means we can sign Jason Cummings from Hibs. Good appointment though, if Rotherham sign quality over quantity they should be fine.

I agree with first part of your post, but it think it's a bit harsh to speak of failure to get Hibs promoted. Qualified for play offs twice in succession after taking over a complete shambles of a club (according to Hibs fans) and, as you well know, play offs are a total lottery.

If you can't get promotion from the pub league standard that is the Scottish Championship then this will only end badly.
Relegation for Rotherham next season, put your bets on now

I'd be wary of this after Griffith, especially as what I have heard Cummings is similarly a bit of a dick, factor in they apparently wanted a million for him and that he is 5ft10 so doesn't match the 'power' mould that Jackett has been going on about again.

I don't see why Wigan couldn't finish above you?

When Grigg inevitably goes they have nothing. They were inconsistent for most of the season in the poorest league in in many of yeas (and I thought last year was bad).

When we came up Craig Morgan was our captain and we were told how shite we supposedly were, he's captain of the, now and without Grigg (who's never done it at this level anyway) and there even worse.

I mean Max Power ffs.

Nope, neither do I and they probably will, just like we did.

I can't wait for your season to go tits up, Adam Hammill as a marquee signing and Lee Johnson sacked by Christmas after spending all summer stalking Barnsley and paying millions for unknown French kids.

I was hoping we'd stand a chance of signing him now along with that McGinn from them but Hibs are massively fucked off with us so imagine we'd have to pay over the odds.

We'll probably have another poor season, but still end up finishing above your shower of shite - along with most of the league.

Nah, play-offs are a matter of whether you can win games under pressure against good sides.
