MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

  • This is the third consecutive season these teams have met in the FA Cup - Arsenal won the previous two meetings, including the 2014 final.
  • The Gunners have won nine of their last 10 matches with Hull in all competitions, drawing the other.
  • The Tigers have won once away to Arsenal in their history - that was a 2-1 victory in the Premier League in 2008.
Arsenal

  • Arsenal have won their last eight FA Cup matches at home.
  • Their defeat by Blackburn in 2013 is the only time the Gunners have lost to lower-league opposition in 40 FA Cup games under Arsene Wenger's management (W31, D8).
  • They have been knocked out in the fifth round in two of the previous four seasons.
  • Wenger has won 71 of his 99 FA Cup matches in charge of Arsenal, with 15 draws and 13 defeats.
  • Alexis Sanchez has scored five goals in six starts in the FA Cup. His first goal in the competition was scored against Hull City in January 2015.
Hull City

  • Hull have won four of their last five away games in all competitions, including a victory over Bury at Gigg Lane in the last round.
  • They have conceded just two goals in their last eight matches in all competitions.
  • This is the third time in eight seasons they have reached the fifth round - they won on the previous two occasions in 2009 and 2014.
  • On-loan Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom scored a hat-trick for Hull in the last round but is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Should be quite defensive from Bruce today. Still nothing to lose for us (that's right) and knocking them out would be very funny (and great entertainment for the neutral).

3-0 to Arsenal.

Also, whites, I appreciate your making a thread for each FA Cup game but I reckon most of them will remain empty. Sadly, lower league fans talk about the FA Cup in their lower league forum.

"Anti-Arsenal Dean" books a Hull player for diving in the Arsenal box. Very interesting.

They struggled against Las Palmas today though. Upset on...

When will the replay be played - probably the last thing both teams wanted.

I would think March 2nd. Or something along those lines.

I think you can postpone those. FA Cup obviously takes precedence over the league but not sure about replays.

They could play it the week after when Arsenal aren't playing but UEFA don't allow live TV games of other competitions on when there are Champions league games...

Well apparently they do as the replay is on the 8th.

(Unless it's not televised.)

How does Meyler think he can get away with lazily passing it across his own goal in that situation?

Per, Ramsey and Gabriel all injured. This replay has been a catastrophe especially as we should have swatted them aside in the first game.

Blame Wengbot Femputer for not putting out a stronger side in the first instance.

Great ball from Campbell, good finish by Walcott. Get everyone behind the ball now and don't exert any energy.

You must have been celebrating at the sight of all our players going down injured, one by one, brought low by the violent Humberside heavies.
