Sheffield Wednesday (A) - Draw at best
Brentford (H) - First home match. Win!
Leeds (H) - Probably draw.
Boro (A) - Anything more than 0 points here I'll be amazed.
Burnley (H) - Another toughy, will take a draw.

Wolves (H) - 2-1 loss, play well but Wolves too strong. Rhodes with a goodbye goal.
Shrewsbury (H - Cup) - 1-0 loss, we don't do the League Cup.
Huddersfield (A) - 2-0 win, Chris Brown steps up to score twice.
Cardiff (H) - 0-0 draw, dull game.
Brighton (A) - 1-0 loss, another dull game, but a Hanley own goal is the difference.
Bolton (H) - 1-1 draw, two goals in the last 15 minutes.

5/15 points to start off the season. Above average for the season as we'll finish with 39 points.

Strange. Surely you expect better than a draw at home to Bolton? Judging on the finish to last season you seem far stronger.

Tough to call as we have a plethora of new players....and a new style it seems but here goes

Bristol C (h) a 2-0 win, we've only lost 4 of our previous 15 opening League fixtures although once was against Colchester in 2004/05 after a high turnover of playing staff that summer.

Mansfield (h) Cup - A steady 3-0 win

Ipswich (a) A stern test against a side that finished inside the top six and our record at Portman Road is pretty poor in recent times, defeat

Reading (H) A frustrating draw beckons, Clarke will have them defensively sound

Leeds (a) Another draw, two Yorkshire "rivals" live on Sky, lacklustre game.

Boro (h) We have had the voo-doo sign on Boro at S6 in recent times and another Nuhiu inspired 3 points on the horizon

8 points from 12, ambitious but doable.

OK here's my slightly more optimistic revision on the back of some new signings and the buzz of feeling like a kid on christmas eve!

Wednesday (A) The momentum of last years promotion could help us out. Wednesday will have a decent season but I think this is the ideal time to play them with all the new faces settling in. I'll back us for a point and a clean sheet 0-0 Draw

Brentford (H) Got a feeling they will be too strong for us. 0-2 defeat.

Leeds (H) A sellout Ashton Gate infront of the floodlights should give us a good advantage. A win against these bastards is long overdue - the law of averages says we have to at some point and they don't look anything special this season. 2-0 win.

Middlesbrough (A) It doesn't come any tougher than this. Can't see us getting anything here although i'm sure we'll put up a good fight and maybe take an early lead. 1-3 defeat

Burnley (H) Think we've got enough to win at home against a Burnley side that have lost some key players. 2-1 win.

2-1-2-5-6- 7pts - Would take that now.

Wednesday (A) 2-1 defeat. Don't think we will get off to a winning start, but think we will run it close and concede late on.
Cup- Luton (A) 2-0 win. Will probably see a couple of youngsters but a pretty strong team still as we don't have the squad to rotate much.
Brentford (H) 1-1. Think they probably have a stronger side, but having a settled squad vs one that has seen many come and go will help.
Leeds (H) 0-1 defeat. We are due a win against Leeds, but think it will happen at Elland Road, think we will play better of the two, but Leeds to steal the points.
Middlesbrough (A) 2-0 defeat. A very tough game, which I can't see us winning.
Burnley (H) 2-1 win. Think we can get a good result against Burnley, but it won't be easy.

Only 4 points from the opening month, but hopefully I'm wrong and we get more.

Hopefully we can take a bit of momentum in the season and start well.

Middlesbrough H - DRAW - we seem to draw a lot on the opening day, expecting a dour, edgy game.

Crewe A (League Cup) - LOSS - play the kids, lose on penalties.

MK Dons A - WIN - good record against Karl Robinson and i'm hoping it continues, don't think they've strengthened much.

Rotherham A - DRAW - Expect Rotherham to be down near the bottom again and I think we will go down there to grind one out.

Ipswich H - WIN - Good team but don't see why we can't beat them at home.

Hull A - LOSS - One of those standard 2-0 defeats you get away from home every season.

Not bad...

Bolton (A) - Don't see us getting off to a good start, even with their injury problems. 1-0 loss.
Charlton (H) - Full house no doubt. Pride Park rocking. 3-1 win.
Middlesbrough (H) - Boro like beating us. At least Bamford can't get the winner this time. 1-0 loss.
Birmingham (A) - Dull. 0-0 draw.
Leeds (H) - Uwe Rosler was an absolute expert in beating us whilst at Wigan. That'll probably continue. 1-0 loss.

4/15. Probably a bit too pessimistic, but I'm sure we're going to have a slow start before picking up

Spot on in terms of points. The slow start I knew we'd have, but todays performance was concerning.

Burnley (H) - Probably be a tight game but got a feeling the crowd will get us a tight win (3)
Reading (A) - Think we'll nick a draw down there (1)
Bristol City (A) - Surely our winning run against these lot have to come to an end at some point? Or not. (3)
Sheffield Wednesday (H) - A typical derby draw. (1)
Derby (A) - Nah you're alright. (0)

That would represent a really good start so it's unlikely but this will probably be my most optimistic 'monthly' post of the season...gotta have faith at the start
1 point off. My first four games were nearly predicted to perfection if it wasn't for our late concessions! Not too bad in the end, and getting to the break unbeaten, I'll take that.

On first look at our August, it's horrific.

Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself but looking at it now, the first two games of the season might be the best time to play QPR and Derby, before they've had any time to get into their stride and going by comments from the Wolves fans on here, their confidence has dwindled.

If we can get through August with 5 points, I'll be pleased with September looking a lot more favourable.

For what it's worth, I think we'll actually beat QPR on the first day.

Surpassed all expectations.

Spot on about QPR but Derby don't look like ever getting into their stride.

Wanted 5 points, got 8. Over the moon with that. That's our hardest month on paper already out of the way.

I said we'd get 5, we got 3. So even the pessimist in me didn't think we'd do as bad as what we have done

I only predicted two games correctly, but I was right about getting ten points and that's what counts. Very happy with the beginning to this season.
