Isn't it just fate that the last FL fixture at Underhill happens to be the same fixture that opens our FL campaign at The Hive. Spooky...

As for our line-up, off the back of our cup upset against Millwall, I expect confidence to be high and this to be the team:

-------------------- Stack ------------------------

Hoyte -- Dembele -- N'Gala -- Johnson --

Yiadom -- Togwell -- Weston -- Gambin --

------------- Akinde ----- Gash ------------------

Subs: Stephens, Nelson, Muggleton, Champion, Vilhete, Tomlinson, Batt.

I don't expect to see Nelson start as he played 89 minutes on Tuesday and Gambin deserves to start after an unbeliveable game against Millwall.

I forsee us reverting to our 4-4-2 formation, although I wouldn't complain if we kept two holding midfielders in Togwell and Champion and one attacking midfielder in Weston in the starting XI.

My prediction:

Barnet 2-1 Wycombe, with Big John getting one and Weston getting the other.

Will hopefully see an attendance of 3000 if Wycombe bring in excess of 800.

COYB!

Hoping we get some revenge on them for their diving cheating antics in the FA Cup last season.

Be surprised if the attendance reaches 3000. Agree they were lucky to get away with a victory and we owe them one.
Have a sneeky feeling the line up will be more radical with perhaps Gambin,Togwell and Gash rested
Maybe Yiadom as well with Vilhete on the right and Tomlinson on the left

Looking forward to this one, I really liked Underhill (best away pub in the league) but good to see Barnet move onto a ground better suited for their needs (possibly location aside).

Didn't go last season but am well up for it this time round, I think you will find many dislike us for our cheating and if I had one wish about the side, it'd be that they cut out all that crap.

The 500 advance tickets have all been sold but we can still pay at the gate. Think we'll nick this 1-0.

Like I said, wish we'd cut out that crap, no need for it. Barnet could have been well up had they a decent finisher. Gambin had a really good game but lacked the end product. Penalty looked ultra soft to me.

Ingram is a disgrace of a human. The 4 or 5 times he wasted time, not one of them a foul. Wycombe sportsmanship is far worse than any Westley team I've encountered!

The Akinde one looked like a foul to me. Others looked more ropey.

Just have to laugh at that. If I were a Wycombe fan I'd be embarrassed of the playacting, timewasting and general dickheadedness shown by their players today. Used to have some respect for Ainsworth, gone now.

Ingram is an absolute joke. It's a shame as he's a very good keeper (as shown by his save at the end during the goalmouth scramble) but my God, he wasn't even subtle. One he flat out hopped over the ball and rolled around. Every challenge was either faked or highly acted.

The linesman was a joke, incorrect offside calls made all game. One time the ball was passed to Gash, the defender messed up the intercept and it went straight through to him but he was apparently offside there. The referee allowed a player on a yellow to push Tomlinson aggressively, right in front of him, and done nothing.

The game itself was shit too. We played shit football, so did Wycombe, Akinde played shit (hurts to say that) for once and the tactics in show from both teams were awful, just hoof. Jombati is a grade A dickhead too.

The pessimism is setting in, folks. :(

What irks me most is that at some point Ainsworth has said to the players 'I want you to pretend to be injured' - it's just wrong. Having said that we need stronger officials in football, the ref and the linesman down our end was just not upto it.

In terms of the match, it was the one real moment of quality that decided it, fairly certain the second is a blatant dive but the game was over by then. We don't have enough quality in the team and if Akinde isn't firing (like today) we struggle for creativity.

This match was just a huge bleeurgh! The performance was not penetrative enough and the atmosphere from us was flat (the Wycombe fans were great).
Very disappointing that Akinde has these two great chances and doesn't even hit the target whereas Thompson took full advantage of the one opportunity he had. After that Wycombe slowed the game down, while we put on Batt (Mr frustrating) and Tomlinson (who could be useful for us). However, we never took control of the match, apart from Gash's overhead kick and subsequent scramble we never came close to equalising and we never got behind the Wycombe defence. Wycombe didn't really do too much offensively but they were streetwise. We need to wise up quickly.

I wouldn't call it streetwise as they were so blatantly obvious, the officiating team just lacked the gonads to do anything about it until the 93rd or so minute, and what's the point of booking Ingram then?

I get the feeling they do this in most away matches and that they just ensure that they don't do it so blatantly that it makes the officials clamp down on them before their antics have achieved their purpose.
I'm not saying that we should emulate them, we need to be tougher and be able to impose our own game on them, which would makes their antics redundant.

Ainsworth is a scumbag and that Ingram is quite close behind.

I'd be embarrassed if my team played like that.

Well done on the win.

We do - well, I only see about 8 games a season, but out of those our gamesmanship is consistently tedious.

I don't blame Ingram as he's clearly been told to do all that shit, but it's just turning our games into pro wrestling playacting nonsense.

The thing is, I don't get it, because we consistently get 6, 7 mins added time precisely because of timewasting...during which there is clearly nothing to stop the opposition scoring, I don't see the point. It just isn't an advantage, unless it's just a play to rile the oppo players or something.

That was my impression at the time so I'm not surprised to see that their player tripped on a blade of grass. Never seen a team have so much difficulty staying on their feet as Wycombe did second half. Half their bookings were for time wasting. Pierre was lucky to stay on the pitch after shoving Tomlinson in the chest when already on a yellow.
Overall Wycombe are an effective but unpleasant team.

I still want to know in what world someone can raise their hands and push another player in the chest, less than a metre in front of the referee, and get away with it.

So that's two visits they've made to the Hive, two dives, two bottled red cards and shitloads of gamesmanship. Real nice going Wycombe, now I remember why I so enjoyed it when Southend done you over in that fashion at Wembley.

For the ref's own sake I hope there wasn't an FA assessor there yesterday as he would get an absolute caning for failing to send Pierre off for shoving a player in the chest when on a booking.

Jombati is a scumbag as well, rightly had a foul given against him for a clear push only to then start shouting in the linesman's face. The officials shouldn't allow players to behave like that, absolutely spineless. Wycombe's behaviour was a disgrace but who can blame them when the officials in this league are so sackless?

Absolute despise Wycombe, the diving, cheating, time-wasting scummers.

Do you actually play like that every week?

It was genuinely painful to watch, especially when your 6'3' goalkeeper started writhing about on the floor after he dived over Akinde's feet. Little cheat.
