We haven't played spectacular football, we've just finally become secure at the back for the first time at this level. I don't remember Sutton having a genuine chance in the whole 90 minutes today.

Thought the conditions today suited the team attacking the Cowsheds. As for the goal, 50/50 challenge with the keeper and defender, on another day the ref might of chalked it off, but then again on another day Maccs no14 would of been sent off for his challenge on Wallace, and McNulty might of gone for his challenge on Maccs no20. Any way Santa defo delivered at Prenton today with Maccs incredible miss and the scruffiest goal i've seen in a long time. Final touch for the goal came off a Macc boot too.
Not suprised Lincoln struggled today as teams tend to switch off agaist lesser teams after big results.
Congratulations to the long suffering York fans with their win today too.

Dover's last 3 league games is LDD though + a trophy defeat. We're not exactly doing that well

The standard of this league is beyond terrible and only getting worse. The 'high-flying' BELTs will disagree.

We've been here nearly 10 years now and I can tell you that the general quality is getting worse each season. A few years back you'd have a genuine bottleneck down here of good sides who could make an impact in L2. Imagine a side like 2011 Crawley, 2012 Fleetwood or 2012 Wrexham in this league right now, they'd have it wrapped up already. Even the Newport and Kidderminster sides of 2013 would probably win this league at a canter.

Think you only need to see how Cheltenham are doing this season to see that you can we this league easily but going up is a different kettle of fish and the gap is just going to get much bigger.

To be fair they're a small club compared to us or even Lincoln.

We'd have a top 6 budget if we went up with FFP.

I await GuiseleySteve's comments.
First defeat in 3 months and 2 days, time to panic? Nah!

This is the thing. Now it's the likes of Lincoln, Forest Green and Dover challenging. I'm rarely impressed by any opposition these days.

I thought it was a fairly even hard fought game in tough conditions to be honest. A draw would have been fair but glad for the three points. Damned cold too!

Replay of Tranmere's goal: https://gfycat.com/LittleLittleArctichare

Jokes aside, looked a foul to me and every local I spoke to agreed. Tranmere started better and looked decent for the first half an hour ish, then we changed the system and it became more even. Second half we were perhaps the better side (had the best chance of the game at least) as Tranmere ran out of ideas and overall looked very impotent (almost as much as we do!), perhaps enhanced by the absence of Cook. Danny Rowe's possibly been our best player this season but looked completely off it today and disinterested, maybe someone's come in for him, and he managed to inexplicably miss from 6 yards out midway through the second half... Disappointed to not have come away with something from what was really a poor quality game between two largely average-looking teams.

Slightly baffled by this given we passed the ball around you the entire of the first half and but for some woeful finishing could have scored 4. Agree second half was about as dire as it gets though.

Until we changed to 5 in midfield you were comfortably the better side, but it seemed like 80% of your shots was Tollitt doing the same shot groundhog day-style putting it 4 yards over the bar from near the edge of the box! Wallace was good, Mangan quick and dangerous in the first half but I just don't think you looked anything "special"; being better than us for 45 minutes is all well and good, but we're not that great! Again, the Tranmere fans I spoke suggested a draw would've been the fairest result.

I expect you to be much better in the game at Macc as we're shite at home and play better on bigger pitches.

Prenton Park was the smallest pitch in the football league, unsure about this one

That's fair, and isn't too dissimilar to the way most of our fans viewed the game. We look very toothless without a target man, and on another day the scoreline could easily have been reversed. The winning goal's legitimacy is debatable, as well.

Let's hope for a better game on the 1st!

What on earth is Farman doing for Guiseley's winner? He's gone and dropped the same clanger in consecutive games, both in injury time.

We're enduring the effects of a manager who persists with a bizarre system, rotates players for no reason, puts players out of position, has wasted £30k on a donkey from Chelmsford and is now insisting on playing his son. Another season in which Dale Vince has wasted a small fortune. Fair play to Torquay though as they deserved their win.

Will FGR even make the playoffs?
On that showing and our form against the contenders wouldn't be doing anything other than make up the numbers if we do. Wet paper bag defending after a scrappy first half we maybe even edged. Even as the comeback started had a sick feeling it was only to make it feel like losing twice when we conceded again. Still seen nothing from Mullings, seemed to have no touch and win nothing in the air despite being a giant. Can only hope he's a slow starter. Doidge put in a shift when he came on to remind you it probably wasn't the forwards we had but the way we're playing is at fault. Make me eat my words, Cooper.

Wait.... That can't be right. Chris assured us he's a football genius

Was only kidding with a 6-1 prediction, but did expect us to win today - game was ruined as a spectacle by the wind though. Gateshead weren't a bad side, but were only really limited to a couple of shots from outside the area. They defended really well, and for the second season running I thought Jamal Fyfield looked brilliant!
We definitely draw too many, though I never feel like we're going to get beaten. Nothing wrong with our performance today, really, just couldn't get through a very good defence.
Some bad news for us though: our keeper Erlandsson has gone back to Forest as he's apparently off to Sweden, and his fellow Forest loanee Ryan Yates is out with injury. We only just managed to fill the bench today, so a few signings are probably on the cards.

With Cook out for the next three weeks and Norwood/Mangan not firing on all cylinders, he would have been a good option to have, when the loan spell ends. So bad news.
