This is going to be some sight as well. This framework is going to be the full length of the pitch, weighing in at 100 tons and has to be lifted to the top of the Dolman stand in one piece. That's going to be some process.

seems like that new stand is set a bit further back from the pitch than the Williams stand which would be a shame

The pitch is moving by 5M towards the new Williams / West stand over the summer. once the old Williams is levelled. The Dolman stand rake is being extended down towards the pitch so the space is needed. I do agree, the new West stand does seem a bit further from the pitch than the old one though. I assume it's to do with sight lines and the upper tier.
If you're on about the stand currently being built, there are 4 (I think) additional rows to be added to the front of what we can see at the mo so it won't be much different apart from the disabled section in the right hand corner which can be seen already.

Never really understood peoples desire to be so close to the pitch, it often gives a terrible view, the new stand will still be very close as most english stands are compared to anywhere else.

I do agree with you as I'm heading near the back of the new South stand for a year which should give a decent view of proceedings.

It HAS to be finished though, certainly open to supporters at least or the Williams can't come down meaning the pitch can't be moved meaning the Dolman can't be finished.
Gawd knows what they will do if it IS late!

All the fine weather and longer days in front of us, plus Barr contractors getting their fingers out, with clause in contract overtime rates ? :bg1:

I reckon the seats will be ready, it the internals that'll be behind shedule, so maybe portaloos, no bars/food outlets and corporate areas not open until weeks into the season.

No real problem then? We have lived without all the corporate bollox for long enough so a few extra weeks will be ok.
As long as the Williams demolition has started by the end of May, there's no issue as far as I can see.

ah good news. the stands at Vale Park are kinda far away from the pitch and it doesn't help the atmosphere I don't think. Always preferred the grounds where it almost feel claustrophobic.

Vale park certainly has an 'open' feel. Maybe it's the rake of the 3 original stands which seem quite shallow? Bearing in mind what Vale park was supposed to become, it's understandable I suppose.

Looking good, you'll soon have a stadium worthy of the Premier League....you never know Ciderup.
The stadium will look nice, maybe Prem standard (certainly would if we ever did the other end) but we're still in bleedin' League 1.

You know what, that stand will probably be ready for the new season. The internal stuff like seats, toilets, fixtures & fittings etc, can probably get thrown up in a few weeks once the main steel and brick work is complete. I mean, don't forget that its 3 full months before you'll need it open for even a pre-season friendly, let alone the first game of the Championship season, which is closer to 4.

That stand will be ready I think. Is the demolition of the Williams supposed to happen in the summer? Minor thought, but where is the highlight camera going to go once the main stand comes down?

Heard that the media department/comentary will be located at the back of the Dolman so I guess highlights will filmed from there too!

I reckon it will be 'open' JJ but not finished. If you look at the video, there's a hell of a lot to go in the new South stand including a fully functioning pub / restaurant. I can't see that being ready in time but as a football stand, it has to be as it's all but sold out for next season already by all accounts.
The Williams is coming down immediately after the rugby play offs. Once that's done, the pitch is being moved, the front of the Dolman finished and the new West stand commenced. It's a 12 month build.
The TV gantry is being moved, temporarily to the back of the Dolman stand.

Despite the whinging and whining from the pr**ks on OTIB about huge delays,, I think it will have a safety certificate in place for the new season, even though some of the internal parts might not be ready. This is a professional construction company who I'm sure are used to working under tight deadlines.

I believe it is behind schedule Luke (steel issues with supplier apparently) but unlike some on OTIB I think it will be open on time with the exception of a few amenities not ready from the off, we have been fortunate with the weather which I'm sure Barr would have catered for a period of poor weather whereby construction could of been delayed and still allow the stand to open on time.

Also the total build or should I say construction is constantly evolving so what may be assumed to should have been done by now i'e the steel framework by some isn't the be all and end all to show progress, the web cams don't show the complete picture, unfortunately some people don't realise that just because one part of the jigsaw isn't in place that another part couldn't be ahead of schedule.

I'm sure Barr will be going all out to get it open on time, they're not going to be wanting to pay out massive penalties should the opening be delayed, as shown by the amount of work that's be done over the weekend.

I was told by a relatively reliable source (not OTIB) that we are 4/5 weeks behind. That's not insurmountable IMHO with the weather set fair.

The south stand is certainty starting to look very impressive. I've certainly had mixed feelings about moving into the Atyeo next season rather than the south stand.

I can't wait to see the start of the new Williams go up, that's going to look phenomenal.
