Given Smith going back to Fulham and how many he scored for us, I reckon we are actually playing better now Wilbs and KA are back.
The Gills have obviously improved a lot recently but we are in an ominously good place and playing as such with power and no lack of very good football. If the Gills can stop us then all power to them but the City machine is currently as good as they have been for a good while and I just cannot see them being beaten.
3-1 City (Wilbs, Agard, Freeman - McDonald) Yep, Freeman, at home, at last!

In true Johnson style , this is the battle of 22 points v 21 points from the last ten games. Sounds tough. Who should we be looking out for? Macdonald, Rack and Egan?

Who is this Rack you speak of?!

Our danger men are McDonald, Marquis, Dack and McGlashan, although it's rare they all fire on the same day! Egan is a ridiculously promising centre half, and Max Ehmer is a very good partner for him. Our weak area is our fullbacks, with neither Hoyte nor Martin particularly 'safe'.

I reckon we'll line up:

Nelson
Hoyte - Egan - Ehmer - Martin
A.Morris
Hessenthaler - Loft
Dack
Marquis - McDonald

Subs: G.Morris, Legge, Galbraith, Norris, Dickenson, Muldoon + McGlashan

Dack got a lot of room in the JPT game as he plays in the hole and you didn't play a holding midfielder (or if you did, he didn't do a good job!), so that's probably our best chance of success. The movement of Marquis and McDonald up top will cause problems for anyone in this league too.

Imagine if you could do accumulators on a teams starting line up, could make a fortune off City this year.

I notice Cody MacDonald has signed a new contract. That's good news for the Gills as he's a player I, for one, rate highly. It certainly protects the club if a decent offer comes in for him.

Should feel buzzing with excitement every Friday night before a home game with the season we're having, but I just don't - I miss the atmosphere the EE had :'(

Being a ST holder living in Southampton, following city has been a bit mental since Christmas with all of the fixtures. Feels I've been consistently watching two matches a week! The stamina the players must have is immense. It has been an absolute pleasure though and I look forward to tomorrow's 4 hour round trip to see city move another step closer to the championship! Yoouuuuu Reds!

I think I've said this before, its completely different to our last promotion, even the play off campaign the year after. While the EE has definitely got something to do with it, I think the fact we are so much better than everyone else also is a factor. I just go in to every game expecting to win which takes a lot of the edge off.

Got to make the most of seasons like this though, they don't come around too often!

BCFC David, I know exactly what you mean; when we won league two a couple of years ago it was the same. We were top of the league, expecting to win every game, when we didn't, at the end of the game the boos rang out from some areas! Yet we were top of the league FFS.
After you beat us at our place so convincingly in the last league game, me and a mate had a bet on City to win the league, so we're obviously delighted with your progress, but today I'll allow you to slip up for once!

16/1, Kinel! No I've got £50 at 8/5, my mate got in about a week earlier at 9/4. I did get Gills @ 25/1 pre season the year they won league two so I know how you got such good odds at that time of year.

£40 at 16's and (keep it quiet mind) a tenner on the gas at12's. I always put a little bet on them to sweeten the pill if they did ever win anything.

£680, that's sweet. Can't believe Rovers were 12/1, very generous.
The year Gills got relegated to league two about 4 years ago, they had to get a draw at Wycombe last day of the season. After beating Leeds and Southampton in our previous two home games we thought it was a cert. For us to get relegated about 6 other games had to go against us. So as a covering bet I bet on all those 6 results to happen plus Gills to lose, and they did. I won £540 that day, but got slaughtered by my mates for betting against Gills, but paid for it in the pub at Wycombe cos I had all the money to pay for us drowning our sorrows.

At least it covered the cost for the next Season Ticket if that's any consolation ;)

Shame to draw but Gillingham are no mugs, been very impressive over the last month or so and beat Swindon 3-0 on their own patch.

On to Tuesday.

FT 0-0 - Not a bad performance at all against a much improved Gillingham team, shame the referee and his assistant were a pair of tossers and bottled the two most clear cut penalties your ever likely to see.

Big psychological boost to get to 80 points.. At least it feels that way to me!! 3 more wins should see us up, 4 should take the title. Nine games to go!

How the hell did we not win that?!

Most one sided game I've ever seen.

Sounded like a draw was a fair result, as long as we have our shooting boots on next match we'll be fine.

Would like to think your right Luke, but I feel we'll have to go to Preston and at least take a point to take the title!
