Haven't seen the past 2 games but it sounds like a mixed bag, shit against Millwall but brilliant against Watford. I would say we'd lose this one, but Villa forget how to kick a ball when playing away from home.

1-1 draw.

Heard Villa haven't been coping well against pacy strikers, if true I hope we go Bobby and Hinds, not rapid but their movement as well would make for awkward opposition.

Well we've scored 8 in two games, but Bruce will go negative as fuck here as he does when we're away (I pray he's learnt his lesson over the past week regarding that) and we'll lose 2-0.

We are in the form of our lives and chasing the championship title. We are scoring for fun and playing like it's 1981. So yeah back to reality and a 2.1 Bristol City win.

Villa's main problem in this league is that they are a massive club with a great following, and every team will raise their game as they want to take the "big boys scalp".
Given that this is also a Friday night, under the lights and on Sky, will no doubt mean that our players will raise their game even more, so I think we have every chance of winning this.

Besides, I believe we have the makings of a much better squad than most people (including our own supporters) give us credit for.

City to come out of the blocks firing, 2-0 at half time and 2-1 at the final whistle.

I don't even think that's the problem. Our problem is that we've just been plain shit.

Yup.

This has all of the makings of disappointment though. We don't win on Sky and we don't win away... Seriously. If Bruce sets us up as he has the past two games (please for the love of God do, Steve!) we should do alright and I'd back us to win, I just don't see him doing that, I see him setting us up defensively and in a hoof ball tactic which is a recipe for disaster.

The long ball tactic is all well and good if you have someone that can hold the ball up. Davis held the ball up better than anyone I've seen in a long time on Saturday. Sounds like Hogan will be in to replace Davis though so hoofing it towards Hogan is not going to work.

BC looked good 2nd half against us playing with pace and lots of width.

Will that Hines start or the bjg French chap?

Diedhiou will start I would of thought, hinds does look a real prospect though from what I've seen of him so far. Signed him from Luton last summer and Johnson has said that he's about a year ahead in terms of development than what he was expecting, so he will get his chance soon enough I'm sure.

Agreed. Shame that Davis is ill. Hopefully Hogan repeats Tuesday's performance tonight.

Been injured since the end of last season mate, not expected back for another month or two yet.

What do Villa fans think of him? 19 goals last season is decent.

Fantastic player, we genuinely could have seen ourselves in a (more prolonged) relegation battle last season without him. We can't wait for him to be back either, as Hogan hasn't shown his best form whatsoever yet, Davis is 19 and Agbonlahor is still shit.

Just look at our form when he was at the ACON last season for proof of how important he is/was to us.

Shocking with 5 at the back and we switch to 4, be a bit more ambitious and start to take control. Hopefully we continue where we left the first half off and we should be able to nick a win here.

Not a good game this. Don't see either team scoring from open play.

Can anyone tell me why Korey Smith is still on the pitch. 2nd straight home game where I can't remember him doing anything.

We didn't lose...

Still shite though.

Ref was awful (not just for us, clear Terry handball wasn't given) and stifled the game in the last 15 mins or so.

Meh.

Still think Bruce is a tit.

I'm good at this predicting malarkey...

Sounds like we played alright. Will take a draw vs Villa every day of the week.

Hinds was only signed in January.

We played OK. Didnt get to our best. Same can probably be said for Villa.
IMO we should have had a penalty, but a draw a fair result.
