They are, the expression is "damp squib" a squib being a type if explosive used in mining, hence a damp squib would lead to failure to detonate.

So no damp squibs please, let's finish our stint in league one with a bang.

4-0

Not a damp squib in sight, although to be fair Walsall did give us a scare first half.

8-2 now that is how to end a season in style.

Well done lads, you are the history makers.

Fuck the game, I enjoyed the shit out of that. Felt our fans were excellent and sang more than the champions on the last day of the season whilst losing 8-2. Take a bow Saddlers fans!

They're trying to think!

Well fuck me I'm glad I didn't miss that now. What was I thinking even contemplating not going....

Aden Flint scoring a hat trick is the greatest thing to ever happen.

Downside is that it took a 3 goal lead for the crowd to get going

So the 4th best defence in the league will leak 4.

:2thumb:

Wow, what a way to finish. To be fair I thought the first half we wernt at the races. But that second half spell was phenomenal. Aden Flint take a bow sir.

What a season, would it be too much to ask if we could just see the Gas blow it!

No more football for 3 months:(

Looking forward to the football league show to say the least, wondering whether they've allocated enough time for it given all the goals that have been scored today

Even if they do get promoted our season eclipses theirs, no way you can even compare the two, we did what we weren't favourites to do (Sheffield Utd were big favourites) and Rovers were favourites and came 2nd.

Reckon Corey Anderson will out do Gayle, either that or Gayle will pull out again.

Credit is due to the Walsall fans who stuck around for the trophy presentation too. A credit to their club just like At Wembley. Not sure if I'd have stuck around for the 5th goal, let alone 8. I'll certainly be looking out for their results next year.

It wouldn't suprise me if a few of them would of been city fans. Thought there support was first class.

Yep can't knock the Walsall fans at all even though it must be disheartening for them to see us bag both trophies this season.

Proper threat in the first half but collapsed after. Great day now I gotta hotfoot it to Heathrow, see ya all.

Both teams set up to have a go today - and fairplay to Walsall for making it entertaining.

We battered them in the 2nd half, but two chances in the first half fell to Hiwula for them, who was very clinical. How his 2nd ended up creeping in, I'll honestly never know.

If we'd been as clinical as we were today and at Bradford all season, we'd have had plenty more of these games. We've been creating chances at freewill against every side we've came up against, and everything we did today paid off - with JET and Agard bagging braces, and that man Flint bagging himself a hat-trick. Tidy finish from Pack for his goal as well.

It could have been more - Agard had a few more chances, Freeman had one etc, it was brilliant to watch.

And basically - a fitting end to such a brilliant season.

Championship - we're coming for you!

We said we thought some teams could be facing a hammering earlier in the season, just had to wait till nearly the end for 2 to occur quickly.

Finished on +58 GD - incredible.

38 goals conceded over the course of the season, whilst playing expansive, high risk football.

Incredible.

Team's are more clinical in the Championship - and we'll get punished more often that not, but it'll be interesting and entertaining to watch!

Doubt Flint will get anywhere near as many next season, defending will be a lot better at set pieces, wasn't even picked up let alone marked by many this season which is just madness
