I've summarised what we have so far and from 21 lists there are two front runners. Also, 43 cities have been mentioned so far. A pretty good spread.

The only good thing about Wells is the by-pass around it!

Seriously though, picturesque maybe but that's all it's got going for it. Gone downhill ever since they closed the swimming pool and built a Tescos on top of it. Even worse now they've opened a 'Spoons.[

I agree regarding the Spoons pub it has caused nothing but trouble since it opened. I'm lucky i live on the other side of the City near The Britannia which i use the most in all of Well's pubs although i do use The Rose And Crown as my mate took it over and turned it round.

I know i'm biased but Wells is a lovely City and is the smallest City in England plus Hot Fuzz was made here  My only gripe is beer prices as pubs in the centre rip off unsuspecting tourists.
Drove through Wells at the weekend, always makes me think of this guy...

I'm sure if we'd played Truro already this season I would have included it, but alas I've never been so couldn't put it in my list.

in Cambridge's embarrassing 3rd city - which has gone downhill since it's pre-roman zenith?

That Christmas tree was something. Can't believe the council spent 40k on it.

We now have 30 responses. As such, and to keep the momentum going, I am going to bring forward the deadline to Friday 11th. You have until midnight to get your lists in and the big reveal should start on Saturday.

Thanks all and keep the lists rolling in.

Just a reminder that the deadline is tomorrow. The lists have slowed now so one final push to see if we can get it to over 40.

Anyone want to predict what city is going to come out on top? Edinburgh is my guess.

London will win. Biggest population and most visited. People who aren't even that keen will choose it as the default choice for 4th or 5th.

Edit: that sounded a little over negative- some people actually like the place too!

Establishment choice winning again, what a surprise. #FeelTheLisburn

London will get negative votes as well though, that might be enough to knock it off top spot.

I've had a couple more in. I think we're up to about 38 lists so far. Come on, a few more to tip us over 40. Only a couple of hours left (or until I get up in the morning anyway).

So here we are, the lists are in, the results have been independently verified and the City Mayors have been notified.

Before we start with the countdown, here are the stats.

Number of Lists Entered: 41
Number of Cities Mentioned: 52
Number of Cities Mentioned (+): 43
Number of Cities Mentioned (-): 26
Number of Marmite Cities (+&-): 17

I will start with the list of cities so boring that no sod mentioned. By default, these dull cities place equal 37th on the list with 0 points (just in case anyone is interested, no city ended up with a net score of 0 so these are all cities nobody mentioned).

Armagh
Belfast
Canterbury
Carlisle
Chichester
Derry/Londonderry
Hereford
Lichfield
Lisburn
Newport
Newry
Perth
St Albans
St Asaph
Stirling
Swansea

Given there's some footballing places in there, it's perhaps surprising that some of them were excluded but others, especially the NI ones less so.

Belfast and St Albans are both good, though very different. Strikes me as odd that nobody would put the former in their top 5. But we'll see what else makes the list.

Well, all the others.

Agree with you on Belfast, aye. Surprised nobody at all chose it. Did Renegade not enter a list?

68. Stoke-on-Trent
784.jpg

Result.PNG

With 3 people shitting on the place and not a single lover, Stoke takes the unglamorous 68th position out of 68 cities. Who'd have thought it?

C&B Opinion: Just the name sends shivers down the spine

Description: This 'beautiful' city lies in Staffordshire and is known as 'The Potteries'. You know you've made it as a city when your only claim to fame is some pots. Its name is derived from the Old English, Stoc, meaning place. Not only is it Britain's shittiest city, it also has the most imaginative name which means 'Place on a River'. Tremendous.

Famous People: Neil Morrisey, Anthea Turner, Nick Hancock

C&B Fact: The chief designer of the Spitfire, Reginald Mitchell, was born in Stoke. His original aim was to attack the place itself but war got in the way.

67. Coventry
coventry.jpg

Result.PNG

With one positive score saving Coventry from being joint bottom with Stoke, Coventry comes in at a mighty 67th.

C&B Opinion: Only been once and only because it was cheaper to stay there than Warwick

Description: Coventry is a shithole city in the midlands, sitting between Birmingham and Leicester. It used to be the capital of England back in the 15th century however the locals didn't like the Japanese tourists so it was moved back to London. It's obviously as popular with the good people of 1FF to rank so lowly.

Famous People: Sir Frank Whittle, Lady Godiva, Gary McSheffrey

C&B Fact: Coventry has 2 universities, Coventry and Warwick. The latter being named as such to entice poor, gullible people to the town

In Stoke's defence, they have some insightful chimney pot walking tours running throughout the year.
