Just thought I would throw this one out there.
Although I am not sure what changes if any will be made to the away end, at the moment there is limited seating along one side for something like 300 and covered terracing for around 1,800 I think in the away end.
At present our capacity is 6,912 !
Who out of you is likely to visit the Pirelli stadium next season as I realise for many it will be a first visit.

Yeah, I'll be going - new ground to tick off, looking forward to it. We'll sell the away end, we've never played at the your place as I'm sure you're aware!

Any chance you'll give more than 1800 this season, heard rumours of an extension over the Summer? Missed out this season as we sold out after a very short space of time, hopefully it won't be on a Tuesday night again either.

You won't sell out next year though will you unless your in the same position which is highly unlikely. We had over 2k there but I think they've lowered that claiming it was too full in the terrace

On Saturday and not in the couple of weeks leading up to Christmas, I'd expect we would. Burton away is the sort of away day that we like the best. A proper away day as they call it. For example grounds like Reading and Stoke in the arse end of nowhere are boring and less appealing.

Been to Burton 3 times and always enjoyed the day regardless of the result. Easy to get to by train, plenty of pubs near the train station in town, a steady mile walk down the main road to the ground and a nice terrace stand behind the goal to top it off. Every time ive been we've filled the terrace behind the goal and the last time we went we sold out completely so i reckon if theres a good feel factor around the place and were playing ok and its a Saturday afternoon then it wouldn't surprise me if sellout again.

I'll go if I can get a ticket. We've brought in another tier of ST holders for next season so having just a ST gives you 2nd dabs at tickets for away games rather than 1st.

We wouldn't sell out Burton again unless it was the first game of the season or we were in the same position we were last season.

What needs to be looked at though is the stewarding, having everyone go through the same turnstiles and congregating in the same area regardless of whether you had a terrace or a seating ticket. No stewards were checking tickets either, which meant that anyone with a seated ticket could just go in the terrace without any bother. In the second half of our game, loads of people with seated tickets went in the terrace to join in the singing and it was really overcrowded to the point where if we had scored, someone could have got seriously hurt. Add that to the lack of railings in the terrace, it would have caused an absolute pile on.

They need to sort this out for next season, no doubt over half the teams in the Championship will sell out and if nothing is changed then it'll only be a matter of time before someone gets hurt.

I understand the chairman is looking into what can be done with the away end. Mind, he will have to move sharpish !

I went to Burton last season in a pre season game, and was a good laugh. Looking forward to going there for a league game.

I lived in Wednesfield up to the age of 9 and went to watch Wolves at Molineux as a lad, will be the 2nd time I have returned with Burton Albion. last time was a Birmingham Senior cup tie. This was shortly before the demolition of the famous old South Bank !

Yeah, I totally agree with this. I've lost count of the amount of times I've looked at the away end from the opposite terrace and it's looked over full and it's always worried me. Great to see a full away end and nice to help get an atmosphere going but worrying nonetheless. We've used Derby's stewards in the past to save money but I don't think we're allowed to now so I wouldn't be surprised if a private security firm or some kind of event stewarding gets brought in. Hopefully the sort that will actually stand up to away fans but also ones that won't be prepared to skull fuck any home supporter that dares to stand on a yellow line.

Oh look the forum WUM speaks, every thread you go into you hijack with either a sarcastic comment or abusive remarks at someone.

You must lead one hell of a sad life if you're so desperate to be noticed on a internet forum.

Clearly don't get to many away games, as you're speaking absolute shite.

Not really fella, I'm not remotely a WUM. You stated that Reading and Stoke are bland away days but the same could be said of a trip to Wigan given the location of the grounds. All three are very similar from my experience. Don't be so precious.

As for going to away games, I've been to over 120 grounds watching Wednesday, missed three games this season, about the average I've missed for around twenty years.

Fuck off, we've sold Burton out everytime we've been and with nothing to play for in league two.

We take large percentages of our support to anywhere in the midlands and obviously up north.

Rotherham won't sell out Burton hahaha know what you're talkijg about before you pipe up.

Fuck off I'm the biggest WUM and Wigan as an away day is fucking tragic, unless your with your family and fancy walking round that shite attempt at a retail park.

Yeah we will. We'll never be bottom for a start in a division with Burton and the hoolies have seen Burton has their big day out everytime we've been.

Don't comment on our fanbase and when and where we'll take fans without having the faintest clue.

How full do the home ends tend to get? And do you operate cash turnstiles for home fans or ticket only?

I won't have a season ticket next year so I'll probably have to go in the home end I guess.

I went to Burton in 2014/15 with York in League 2. Burton will be three divisions above us next season, FFS.

A good day out, though. Plenty of good pubs in Burton - one called the Coopers stands out. The bar in the away end was reasonably good. We had a good few hundred in and our fans never stopped singing, even during Burton's goal celebrations as we lost 2-0. The paths of the two clubs have certainly diverged since then...

Readings ground is over 3 miles from the town centre and Stoke is over 2 miles from the City centre and the only access road is the main A road which is a right pain. Wigan's ground, you can walk to it from the town centre along the canal in 15 minutes. There's loads of real ale pubs in the town centre and if you walk over the bridge onto Frog Lane, there's several more pubs less than 10 minutes from the ground.

Given the fact that Wigan is also the only place on the main line North to South and East to West, direct to major cities London, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh and within 1 change of most other places, Leeds, Sheffield etc, it's an ideal away day if you want to come on the train and have a few drinks before/after the match. Stoke and Reading, drive or coach to the ground and go home.

I've done it on a midweek night and it was a ballache to get back from, wasn't overly impressed, given that it's still a new build in the middle of "nowhere" so to speak. I just don't rate it.

I am sure I have read all matches will be all ticket next season, very little chance of getting in the home stands unless you know some one in Burton who will get you a ticket.

1800 is a more than fair allocation anyway it's not like you only give a few hundred.

How dare you all forget we are the proud holders of the FSF Away Day of the Year award for 2015. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. Right up there with the FA Cup! ;)

On topic, Burton if possible need to follow what Fleetwood do, I'd say they are the best comparison as they also allocate a terrace and main stand seating. Fleetwood make away fans with seating tickets enter through different turnstiles and use different facilities to those in the terrace. I'm not sure if that's possible at Burton but if it is, then that's the first step. If that's not viable then the least they should do is add more railings to the terrace and tighten stewarding at terrace entrances, ensuring that no one with seated tickets get themselves in and overcrowd it.
