No, you're a bunch of scummy thugs.

I don't know actually, I imagine not as it tends to be packed with home fans on Saturday games.

Walk a bit from town, there's much nicer pubs about 20 mins away.

Yeah I know but we won't be there till about 1 anyway and the coach will insist on being dropped at the ground. Long walk for 3/4 pints

Notts fans were in there the other wk so think you lot will be alright, although saying that it's crap nowadays(even worse than what it used to like). Come to think of it we must be a shit to come to as an away fan, the social side is gash and you have to travel a fair way to get a decent pint, unless your south of the river

As for the game, it's probably one that both sides think they should win, personally I'm hoping home advantage will give us that extra edge to nick it.

Hopefully Mansfield behave themselves on the pitch, no antics please.

Up the us.

KTF.

I think we'll lose. We've not looked good since Hunt got injured and Rose simply can't fill in there, Collins is slightly better but we have conceded 5/6 goals from down that side since Hunt got injured.

I agree that we're probably not a good away day now unless you come by train or make more of a day of it. The only 2 pubs remotely near are the Wrestlers and the Cornerhouse (I believe the Wrestlers shuts before Saturday games now?). The best pubs for away fans are probably 20-25 mins walk from the Abbey. There's literally no pubs in the Abbey ward, fuck knows how anyone lives there. In desperate need of a pub of some sort.

We're in decent form but Mansfield are a solid side so I can see us drawing this one. That wouldn't be disastrous (given our recent run), particularly if we can pick up two wins over Christmas.

What's the Wresters? Which one is that Thai joint?
The Wrestlers is one that does Thai food. It's superb and well worth a visit after the game, top 10 on trip advisor last time I checked.

We went in for the cup game last season, Took the piss getting served. Last season though in the league match, A further 10 minutes up the road (away from the ground) we found a pub but can't remember the name of it. Landlady was abit scared as apparently a lot of Cambridge lads were out so she locked the gates out back. She let us move some benches into the sun though so that was bang on. Probably head there again if possible.

Yep we've got our own collection of knobheads. I can't think which pub you went to but if you head down Newmarket Road then on to East Road, there is the awful Duke of Cambridge but the Tram Depot and Cricketers aren't bad (Elm Tree and Free Press round there aren't bad either). But your best pubs are closer to the station - Cambridge Blue, Geldart, Devonshire Arms, Earl of Beconsfield. More awkward to get to but they're way better.

I've not drunk in the Wrestlers in recent years and not been in there when the bar has been busy so can't argue with your comment. But as I said, the food is great.

Some of the students were lovely though

Yeah it used to be a drinking pub but is a better restaurant these days. Back in the 80s and 90s it was bloody rough, in fact it had a reputation for being one of the roughest pubs in Cambridge. Used to be frequented by "our firm" pre match back in the day and I wouldn't have recommended any away fan to go anywhere near it!

Oh and the students are a bunch of c*** on the whole. :)

I quite fancy us for this one. It's the type of fixture that we've been winning all season - the type where we are away to a side that hasn't pulled up any trees. We set up to keep it tight and take our chances when they come, and by and large we've been successful with it.

The games where we've struggled are against the sides who have been on it, alongside most games at Field Mill, where our mindset hasn't been one to dominate.

It's frustrating to be honest. We've shown that we are a better side than the teams in the bottom half, but aren't as good as the sides in the top half. If the division had 25 sides in it I'd expect us to finish dead middle 13th by the end of the season.

2-1 Stags. Bingham to score all 3.

Mansfield are having a great season so we need to be wary, but they've "only" beaten sides in the bottom half and if we play like we have done recently then they should be there for the taking. What we will definitely need to be is solid and organised at the back otherwise Green will run rings around our largely immobile centre halves, and that's the concern, but if we can continue with the postive approach we've been playing with since Derry came in then I don't see why we can't win this one as well. My only concern is that looking at the fixture list I can apply that logic to the next 5 or so games and we sure as hell won't win them all, so the question is where will we slip up, hopefully not Saturday.

2-1 U's.

This will another long trek for me on Saturday morning, as I head back from a quick family visit in the wild north. Hope the weather, M6 and A14 behave themselves.

I've probably seen us (and Barrow in the days of Bob Ledger) play the Stags as often as anyone in this league - except perhaps Luton. I can remember a few cracking goals and the odd good result but no great matches and a lot of dire ones. This has the makings of a decent game, perhaps the best yet. I don't underestimate the potential for Mansfield to resist our on-fire midfield, so we may be dependent on corners and free kicks to get the 2 goals we'll probably need again for a result.

Hoping for 2-1 but expecting 1-1 or 2-2, with a modest away following (180) in a 4,450 crowd. Legge and hopefully Berry (to keep Judge Dredd on his toes) to score.

Mansfield will definitely bring more than 180, I'm thinking 300-350 or so. Problem is some of their fans get bored and leave at ht - ask Richard ;)

No chance will we bring that many mate, I'll be doing 90 minutes this year as the pub is too far, Unless we can possibly match last seasons performance!

If you lived in Mansfield my friend you'd realise that there's really little need to venture outside in to anywhere else in the country.

A bit like how folk in that there London go about their business.

Keep missing Cambridge which is annoying, at some stupid family party I can't get out of as in America over xmas. I think it'll be a close game, though we don't have a great recent record.

The type of game we'll probably draw or be settled by a goal

Fair result imo. Would have been great to win 4 games on the bounce but it was never going to happen was it? Still, happy we kept our little unbeaten run going on. As much as I loved Money, this was one game where we would probably have lost if he was still our manager. Also, the football's better nowadays and the atmosphere's certainly more serene. The fact that the fans are reasonably happy with a home draw speaks volumes imo.

The U's on here know I prefer Dunn over Beasant any day, but I don't think today Beasant was at fault for their goal like some fans are saying. I thought there wasn't anything more he could do, it was a deflected shot after all, but still I'll watch the replay first before making up my mind.

Draw was fair, we could have won it but so could Mansfield.

It's strange as I thought it was a poor game between two sides lacking much quality yet the radio and our forum seem to suggest a different view.

Looked another soft goal for us to concede but then I was in the Habbin and I didn't even know it was deflected til someone told me. Either way, I was not a fan of Beasant or Dunn before the game and my opinion hasn't changed. We need two new keepers in January.

I'm not disappointed with a draw as the next three games represent really good opportunities to pick up further points and you can't win them all.

Donaldo's goal was a deflection too. As for the match, I would say it was a typical hard-fought League 2 match between two balanced sides who cancelled each other out. IMO,both sides tried to get all 3 points, and fair play to Mansfield as they didn't sit back like other sides tend to do when they're drawing. They looked strong especially at the back, and one could see why they don't concede a lot of goals.
