Don't you find the CL is getting too samey now with practically the same sides in the QF/SF's each year? That's what annoys me about it, though tbf the semi's the last few years and yesterday's one, were of very high quality. Mind you Chelsea isn't there which may have something to do with it! :D
I think it has always been like that. Every 3/4 years there are set number of same teams that usually reach further into the tournament. However, no one has won CL twice in a row. It won't change this year either. Even if Madrid go past Juve, I don't think they are good enough to beat Barca or Bayern.

Thought Juve needed a third to have any chance. Madrid are a different animal at home. Have to say, worst game I've seen from Ramos in a long time. I'll be surprised if Ancelotti plays him in midfield for the second leg.

Of course they are in a one off game. All of the teams are well capable of beating each other in the final.

This pic is supposed to be Bayern Munich fans in Barcelona today.

Don't know about the rest of the world but this type of thing makes me sick. Fans are supposed travel by their own means and have a nice day before going to the football. This looks like a bunch of tourist twats who will take pictures of the Nou Camp, stick it on fb and go home! This club really is despicable sometimes.

Still want them to win tonight though.

You could say that of the entire football world. The same sides win the same trophies (or are at least close) every single year. Even in the EL you have Seville who have been there before.

Yeah I get that, Sevilla would be going for their fourth UEFA Cup (its still that in my mind!) since the millienium, that would be a hell of an achievement, and they are still in the hunt for the CL spot in the league too - so much for not being able to get far in that competition and putting a CL place in danger. Usually though with the extra round and the amount of teams that are in that competition, it allows for greater diversity and hence it becomes less dull than the CL where its always the top eight bankrolled clubs in Europe fighting over the spoils.

We are going to have a situation in the next thirty years where Real Madrid could easily have ~20 European Cups and that diminishes the whole thing in my eyes.

Still makes me a bit queezy and uncomfortable seeing so many Germans like that marching through cities ;)

Personally, I'm rooting for two disqualifications.

Barcelona being talked up on the radio, not sure they've had a real test like this for a while. I'll go 2-2.

Messi showing Suarez that it is indeed possible to dribble past three or four players without throwing yourself to the ground theatrically.

Neville is such a dinosaur, constantly going on about how Bayern should be parking the bus.

These are suicidal tactics from Guardiola, for the second season running.

It's bloody risky, Suarez should have punished them for it just then. Good save by Neuer.

Yes quite risky by Guardiola to start with a 352 and very little protection to the back 3 (who were basically supposed to contain msn, no less!). He did reorganize his side and since Bayern have been decent as a block. Still reckon Lewandowski should have scored.
Cmon Bayern get a late goal to piss off the whole footballing world.

More people will be cheering on Bayern than Barca I'd have thought.

They've been raving about him but Neuer should save that, unless was he being impeded by Suarez standing offside?

Neymar should have been shown a second yellow card for his ridiculous dive and Barca should never have had the chance that led to the goal. It doesn't excuse Bayern's lapse in concentration but Barcelona got lucky there.

I was a little bit surprised that it went in, not sure why Neuer didn't get there.

We need an "I've just spuffed all over my TV" emoticon.

Whenever people bring up the Ronaldo/Messi debate, I always say that Messi is the better footballer, but if it's goals you want, Ronaldo is your man.

I think Messi's recent form blows a pretty big hole in that argument.

Imagine Ronaldo scoring that, pushing everyone out the way, not smiling, pointing to his name....yuk. How anyone can like him as a footballer is beyond me. Messi however is total class.
