Which is exactly why I'm leaving it well alone. Some good prices to be had though. If I was to bet, I'd go something like:

Ptit Zig
Foxrock
Zarkander
Rajdhani Express

Might stick a fiver in tomorrow, who knows.

While I'm here I may as well stick down what I'm going for tomorrow.

Vautour (1:30)
Closing Ceremony (2:05)
Saphir Du Rheu (3:20)
Hollow Penny (4:00)

Second and fourth choices are fairly hefty outsiders at 28s and 25s, but they look like fairly open fields as Chris pointed out above. Worked it so no matter what I lay out the rest of the week, which won't be much as a lot of how I do it is free bets, I should still end up at least £25 up for the week, which whilst isn't exciting, is still profit ;)

Perhaps Dodging Bullets to take the Queen Mother's with Simply Ned as a possible e/w. Sprinter Sacre and Sire De Grugy are well worth taking on. Will look a bit more closely in a week or two.

Just realised I posted this in the horse racing thread last month, didn't back him. :gmc:

Ptit Zig can be a good horse, Nicholls needs to work on his jumping though.

I say this every year, but should really not bet during Cheltenham, just enjoy the spectacle it is.

So much more value during the normal season.

I will be saying the same thing next year!

Did well in the end, I felt he was an unwarranted favourite - confirmed by his owner. He was being backed because of his association to Big Bucks.

I had Zarkandar, that clumsy jump 2 out did for him in the end.

Wahay, 40 notes back from The Package. I always back that horse for some reason! Paid dividends today!

Good shout.

AP McCoy was talking him up as best bet of the day earlier, should have listened to the champ!

£40 up from today, with little bets put on for tomorrow.

Signed up to Betfair, wasted their £30 in free bets. I was a Zarkander win away from £200. Who's everyone on for the Gold Cup?

What does everyone fancy for the Gold Cup? Silviniaco Conti enhanced to 8/1 I think with BetVictor for new customers which is very tempting.

Tempted to go Conti but 2 failed attempts at GC before might just be him not being able to stay up the hill. Djakadam tempting but I think he is very short just going on one previous run albeit very good but the Gold Cup is much harder. I think I might have a little go on Lord Windemere 2-2 at the festival, very solid. No doubt I will change my mind before the race

Could we see a McCoy swansong? I've stuck a couple of quid at 12s for it as you never know.

Yeah, Conti is too short for me, laboured towards the finish line on two previous attempts as Shrimpurh quite rightly points out, not sure his engine is quite big enough.

Coneygree and Holywell both interest me at 10s. A sizeable ew on both could be my only bets of the day.

In front now over the 3 days...Vautour,Cole Harden won plus 3 each way long shots nicely placed.Only £30 but to be in front after 3 days is a miracle.
Silviniaco Conti is not for me after last year but it's such an open race..I will definitely be having at least
£5 each way on last years winner Lord Windermere @ 14/1

Stunning run from Vautour today, best by any horse this week.

Going with Silvinaco Conti tomorrow and thinking with the heart rather than the head McCoy to win the last race, the race named in his honour.
