Same crime but a red card in this instance?!

Dermot Gallagher was on Talksport a few weeks ago and said that if a player hits a pitch invader it is a straight red card...

We always get shit refs!!!

Laughable! He broke the law.

I don't know. I wasn't there my friend.
So how do you know what actually happened with Tommy lee then? I was there and saw what happened.

Surely you know what songs your club sings?

On the game, we deserved the win in my opinion. Chesterfield will be fine this season.

Because I have seen a video.

And no you asked me did we sing it today and I said I don't know because I wasn't present at the game.

Get onto crimestoppers or something mate, you might have more success with them than you're having on this thread.

I don't understand you Chesterfield fans.

A few fans went on the pitch. That's against the law.

A football player (not a steward) attacked a fan. That's against the law.

Correct me if I'm wrong

That won't need to happen. I am confident the FA will sort this quickly.

Post the video then mate. I'd like to see it again like. Can't see Tommy being punished for defending himself against a scrubber who shouldn't have been anywhere near him in the first place.

Defending himself from what? He did not get hit. So he's defending himself against someone standing near him?

He must have difficulties in real life.

Then in that case, it's happened, let it lie and let's see if the your confidence in the FA is proved right in time.

Personally don't mind too much if fans over-celebrate. As long as no one gets hurt or any damage is caused.

Some grounds are designed poorly where it is way too easy to get onto the field of play, Chesterfield is one of them.

Defend yourself definition = guard against assault or injury.

The fan was standing next to him, possibly goading him! Truly shocking from the Chesterfield fans defending these actions

Very silly going up to the keeper, that is stupid and he should be punished.

I agree and so should the goalkeeper as he is not a steward

He shouldn't have confronted him. As I said in a previous post, overly celebrating is fine if no one gets hurt. Confronting a keeper is silly and too far.

Someone did get hurt, all thanks to the Chesterfield goalkeeper!

Ok I will change the scenario.

A fan has been abusing a player for 90 minutes. The player then scores in the 90th minute and decides to personally run to the fan in his seat and laugh at him. The fan does not like this one bit and punches the player in the face.

Will the fan get arrested? I think so! It is the stewards job to sort the player out - not the fan!

Well this thread has entertained me more than the majority of our games this season.

Started off slowly but has really come to life.

Come on , let's not blame the ground , fans know not to enter the field of play , the majority of your fans didn't go on no matter how easy it was because they've got sense. A bunch of scrubbers who can't take their ale, who were born with half a brain chose to go on due to them thinking it was clever. Was a "look at me , look at me" moment. I've no problem with a good pitch invasion if promotion has been clinched etc but to celebrate an equaliser against a shite team who've lost 7 in a row? Nah.

The Chesterfield keeper should really consider being a steward if he likes hitting football supporters so much

In September 2008, Lee was attacked during a night out in Sheffield and required surgery after his jaw was broken.[4] After returning to action, Lee became a fan favourite at Saltergate.

Maybe that's why he's so angry! Bully.

Half of them wouldn't have been on the pitch had there not been a gap in the advertising hoardings. I do get your point, but our fans haven't had much to cheer about and it gets to their head when we do.
