From what I heard from a usually very reliable source, Cooper wanted shot of him. Remember he was being picked out for criticism by inference in some of Cooper's post match interviews.

Cooper is a tool. He's ripped a decent squad apart, puts players out of position, can't keep a settled xi and throws a hissy when the media ask him questions. Add to it he plays his own son who can't pass the ball further than 5 yards sideways and you have a man who is his own worst enemy. Pennock got sacked for less.
Oh, but we're still second. At the moment.

Not sure which man management manuel he's been reading, but not sure I've ever seen naming names publicly being that successful. Strange.

I don't think any of us could honestly tell you. He looked strong and solid in pre-season, but as we've picked the same XI every week, he hasn't had a look in.
Can play right across the back, and I think it was more him wanting to get games rather than us wanting to get rid, so I imagine he will do okay.
