Its just fortunate we are being bought out. If it wasn't happening then we'd be in serious trouble.
You don’t have to worry about “if” every other club at every level would love that golden ticket, even us but we as fans probably wouldn’t admit it to you.

Infection rates are dropping quickly, vaccination has already happened to the majority of the most vulnerable and is carrying on apace. This is the first time in a year when there's cause for genuine rational optimism rather than just hope.
March 3rd is a date where restrictions are supposed to begin to ease. There's no reason to think that by the end of March as the numbers should have radically fallen that the football industry should be pushing very hard along with all professional sport, the arts, heritage and entertainment industry to get supporters in to save our fantastic sporting and cultural institutions, not just football.
That is a very optimistic reading of the situation and already someone has stated today that the effect of the vaccinations in reducing infection rates won’t be felt for some weeks.
Also, people believe that a voiding of the season in the NL might cause the EFL to permanently get rid of relegation to the National League. Such a proposal would have to be carried through by a vote and the vote is heavily weighted towards the Championship clubs who do not have a vested interest in voting for this.

Maybe I’m being naive but I don’t think there’s any appetite to get rid of relegation from the FL, bar possibly a couple of perennial league two strugglers. What’s the point in making the bottom of the league less competitive?

True.

There is something barmy about excluding a single club though. Typical of the National League.

I would say that it’s good news for you not having to rely on potentially crippling loans, you can just role along until your takeover happens.
I hope they scrap the league now.

Convinced team at bottom would not play even if grant becomes available, most of them have poor fan base and overspent, they want to void the league to save relegation, also believe if home fans are allowed in they would still moan because rely on away fans boosting attandence in this Tim pot league.

If no relegation from national league, teams like Weymouth/Wealdstone could furlough players and play youth team.how would that work if Torquay had dropped points to one of them and Sutton had to play the youth team twice winning easy.
It’s a joke, season should finish at step 1 and 2 to keep integrity of league.
More drugs and vaccines are coming through and R rate on decline so don’t believe this should be a major factor,
Why can’t the clubs use the flow test like nurses use to test employees plus a lot cheaper.

No chance sorry, not with the side Holloway has left us with. Today was our last hope and that has gone.

Is it not down to you being affiliated to the Welsh FA

That will be the rationale, but we were specifically excluded from FAW financial bailouts.

From the BBC " The Football Association of Wales have been allocated £1.5m to disseminate throughout the country as they choose, however professional teams in the English league system like Cardiff, Swansea City and Newport County will not benefit from the Welsh Government grant." We are included in that.

So basically we wouldn't be eligible for any sort of bailout from anyone.

TNS (based in Oswestry, Shropshire) got FAW money.

Its a bit of a moot point because we don't need the money, but its another example of being a pariah. Like the transfer window thing.

Are there any benefits to you guys still being members of the FAW? They never seem to do any favours to any of the Welsh clubs in the English leagues.

They do occasionally overturn suspensions, we've definitely benefitted from that in the past. But really no, I think the FAW still have an issue about the clubs who play in the English system.

How different is the transfer window for you guys, I know players moving country require international clearance but that must be a box ticking exercise for home nations.

We can only sign players (apart from unattached players or loan players) within the window, which is obviously a disadvantage compared to everyone else in the league. We also have to get two lots of international clearance which can delay things.

I'm all for ending the season and replacing Stevenage and Barrow with Torquay and Hartlepool.

Just read on Twitter from Chesterfield journo that they have put unwanted players on furlough.

Just when you thought that club couldn’t get anymore snakey. Absolutely outrageous to be using tax payers money to pay unwanted players. What a scummy club they have become recently.

That is absolutely outrageous from Chesterfield. Complete abuse of the system without even mentioning the impact it has on our case for funding.

Oh dear. This has gone down on social media about as well as a shite in a swimming pool.

To sign a load of new players, including at least one for a decent fee, then place the players they have replaced on furlough using Government cash seems a little... against the spirit of things, to put it incredibly mildly.

I’m sure they will come on here and justify what they have done and they will probably not care what others think
