Considering the government have mentioned that social distancing measures could be in place for the rest of the year. I don't see how even at National League level having thousands of people in stadiums will be allowed.

Also if this virus is still around does anyone here really want to stand/sit surrounded by people who are potentially infected?? As someone who falls in the at risk category, I sure as hell won't be going to a Maidstone game till this is virus is well and truly gone......I've seen a fair few people say the same as well.
Yet people are talking about schools being reopened.
It looks like myself as a school teacher will have to put myself in the front line without PPE.
Then of course I would have few reservations about going to a Maidenhead game and potentially spreading the virus around.

What I don't understand about the vote is the fact the 24 National League teams get a vote but 8 North/South clubs get a vote. Surely every member of the national league system should be getting a vote?

is it not that the votes of the teams in NLS and NLN are weighted? i.e every team has a vote, but the 22 teams in each division only count as 4 votes overall with the amounts for and against the motion depending on the exact votes split?

Ironically it's that sort of elitist thinking which has led to football being in the financial crisis it finds itself in today.

Every individual club should have the same platform whether it's Notts County or Curzon Ashton.

Ironically if that was the case then as there is already confirmation that there will be no relegation from NLS or NLN an equal vote would help guarantee that the vote would be for the season to end.

If it’s democracy you’re after, football isn’t the place. Rightly or wrongly, higher league clubs have always had more votes.

Some on our board saying if the season is n and v we’d have a good case for taking Bury’s spot back.

I’m liking that thinking.

it won't be n + v... and hands off that place - you only finish 5th on Home PPG + Away PPG ;)

What does Red Passion say about this?

probably we won't go down on PPG so vote for it and get this godforsaken season over with... so we can get onto failing badly again next season.

EDIT - I've just looked and according to Red Passion the local paper "The Leader" says Wrexham are voting to end the season...

Barrow are one of the clubs that voted to end the season now, apparently - that has to suggest that they know null and void isn't an option.

I would have expected us to vote that way - although the Fylde chairman is adamant we are wanting the season to go on - but then what does he really know....

Maybe a month ago we were advocating playing on, but as that looks less and less likely, I reckon they've changed opinion. I would also have expected us to vote to finish the season now, as there are seemingly now no outcomes that wouldn't see us promoted.

Haythornethwaite voting to end the season is curious in a way - he must know that there can be no relegation from NL.

either that or he's re-thinking having so much money invested in Fylde long term.

I'll be extremely fucked off if our first games in the Football League have to be watched on the internet...

Haythornthwaite's business will have taken a massive knock in all this uncertainty. Same goes for a lot of the brigade of tinpot benefactors pissing their millions trying to chase a pipe dream.

Be very very unsurprised to see people like him pull the plug. Especially after the season they've just had too...

Thing is will the Government allow footballers and the coaches etc to not take part in social distancing and the like whilst making the rest of the country do that?

Cannot have one rule for them and another for everyone else...

If the season is null and void then it didn't happen. Bury went out of the league, we would have technically still been in league 2.
PPG has no baring on null and void as both mean nothing, it didn't happen so Chorley finished level with Barrow on 0 points.

It's like I said the other day - all is not well at the Real Bro. HQ.
If what you say is true than it's evidently plain to see that Wrexham do not give a flying one about fellow brother clubs Stockport, Notts and Pools.

I'm afraid the RB have been left with no other choice but to kick them out. Good thing the other organisation( the Original Bros) is a much more tolerant and open group with just the one set rule - ''once a FL club* always a FL club.''

*prior to 1987 of course.

You forgot Torquay. DON'T EVER FORGET TORQUAY! (and Chesterfield)

Besides a founder member can't be expelled, unless Master D sanctions kicking himself out.

Lol! Well then, perhaps you could dish out a two year ban or something. And you could always appoint yourself president.

Apologies TORQUAY fans.

I'm afraid not Jerry! I still have nightmares about that awful day back in 2009  I was so upbeat before the game but fair do's: the better team won, and I thought your back four were excellent in the way they handled our forwards

Cheers, shame it was all for nothing as our incompetent boardroom let us slip back into the abyss only a few years later.

Must say your fans were very magnanimous on the day, especially as you'd lost there to the Greeks the year before!

Not sure I would have been in the mood to congratulate anybody if that had been us!

It's not as easy as it sounds for clubs our size to go up to L2 and think we won't be going back to the NL anytime soon. IMO, there's nothing between most L2 clubs bar one thing and that's money of course. That's why it's so hard to predict who'll end up in the bottom two come the end of the season. I didn't think Stevenage were going to struggle as much as they did this season, until midway through the season when I heard they were having some financial issues.

As for congratulating people after a game, I get you, but personally I don't find it that hard. I just tell myself it's only the right thing to do.

I remember quite a few of your fans congratulating us for staying up, and vice versa, even though both sides were safe prior to that final game of the 92/3 season. Always enjoyed going back there.

Ourselves and King's Lynn have both 'through gritted teeth' voted to end the season early.

Don't get me started, I think it's the wrong decision and will probably backfire for both clubs but there we go.
it's probably the right decision as football won't start again for many months - the :fl: was for the "through gritted teeth" bit....
