Wrexham match v Sutton has been postponed after 5 Wrexham players test positive for Covid. Thanks Barnet.
Any player who could have been a potential spreader was in self-isolation.
Anyway, this might give your fan/Hollywood board enough time to sack Keates and get in a replacement so you should be thanking us.

Great news about the game being off (not the positive tests).

If they can rearrange it for February that'd be swell.
Are they doing like the FA Cup and having to forfeit ties?

Wow.

I think you'd better have a breather, i don't think the Internet is good for you. Or do you really think I believe Barnet are the reason players in our squad have tested positive?

Maybe Barnet are the reasons for the global pandemic? Maybe you shouldn't have had that team trip to Wuhan for Christmas.

Yeah, we postponed many of our matches last season specifically to do that once in a lifetime tour.

The whole of Weymouth football club has been put into isolation and their last two opponents, Stockport and Chesterfield, advised to raise their alert levels.

Don’t think we will be seeing fans in grounds for a while yet unfortunately.

We're bottom of the pile, the attitude that the 1980s Thatcher government had to football has never really gone away.

Apparently we have seven in our camp that have tested positive including Antony Johnson which proves we don’t do anything by halves.

Not surprising, attending a match at any level in the 70’s and 80’s was dicing with serious injuries or worse. It’s not gone away, but a lid has been put on the pot. Society as a whole is more violent now; without controls, matches would be impossibly anarchic.

County's games against Dagenham & Red, and Eastleigh, are postponed after further positive covid tests

Next game should be the FA Cup tie against Yeovil

Can’t disagree, got chased out your ground twice in one match in 75.

I disagree that society is more violent nowadays compared to then though.
I wish. Unfortunately it appears that today a fair percentage of youth are permanently tooled up in fear of trouble, adults on the edge of rage at the slightest provocation, society as a whole looking to be outraged.
There were plenty of punch-ups back in the day, but seeking to end a person’s life was unusual. Until the advent of Thatcher, there was more social consideration. Football violence was an aberration, the general public were outraged, and as such it was treated with a heavy hand. No choice ,it was truly out of control.

A considered response. Perhaps you’re correct. Back then society was much more collective and community oriented so if you stepped out of line, social disapproval was very strong. On the other hand This wasn’t good if you belonged to a minority, were LGBT or another stigmatised group (e.g being born out of wedlock).
Now, things are much more individualistic and atomised, which is liberating for some but frightening for a lot of other people.
I definitely agree that a lot of people are permanently enraged and that is reflected in current societal discourse, on social media and in our politics.

Solihull the latest to come down with the COVID.

The league needs to allow much more proactive rearranging of games IMO or this season will never finish. It’s ridiculous that we (and anyone else Covid free) have a free Saturday tomorrow, surely it’s easy to move games around at late notice when it’s behind closed doors?

I can't see this season being finished. It's a shambles to be honest. I think the league have done alright on rearranged fixtures to be honest, there always seems some pencilled in. The clubs are in over their head with this.

Don't forget winter hasn't even kicked in yet, with postponements for weather reasons.

It's silly with the amount of games in hand some will have, but think they'll just extend it and start next season a bit late again. Over the next year or two they'll eventually get back to the normal dates?

There’s always a fixture pile up weather or not, with less cup games having replays there should be time to catch up. Assuming the trophy is no replays we should be fine. I see no reason if a vaccine is rolled out January onwards normality will return next summer with fans and we start on time, players still get two months off if we finish on time.

Is there an argument to scrap the Trophy this year? Maybe it's just because I'm not interested in it. Maybe I'm not looking at the bigger picture but can the lower tiers even play in it?

Thanks for that, that's just the sort of defeatism we need, the sort that makes Britain great!

The lower tiers have already started the FA Trophy.

Yeah but they're not allowed to play at the moment are they? Because they're not classed as elite?

Scrap it. Did we even finish last years? I can't remember
