I suspect very few clubs would want to see the season become null & void; at a guess leagues below step 6 will remain suspended for the foreseeable future & try to settle the season with playing each other just once.

I'm just expecting us to plug on as long as we continue to get financial support. Some teams will have loads of games in hand and end up playing Thursdays probably but we are allowed to continue playing. Next season may even follow a similar schedule starting later again.

Don't know how below NN & NS can carry on though, surely have to call it quits I'd have thought.
I heard that there are some clubs in the north in Step 3 and below leagues that have only played 3 or 4 league matches so far this season. They won’t finish their seasons and it makes the decision to completely void last season’s leagues look like a bad call.
Closer to home, Wingate & Finchley’s last league match was on November 3rd. I can’t see the Isthmian League being completed.

Our game at Eastleigh on Saturday is off as they’ve had one positive test - by the time we next play a league game, we’ll have only played one in a month despite having no issues ourselves..

Season won't get finished. Said it for a few months now.

If we can all limp to a respectable game tally by May, we may be able to pass PPG off as the right thing to do.

I still can’t work out why Notts and Weymouth, having found out today we’ve got no Saturday game because of opposition cases, aren’t now playing each other instead.

That and, as Notts asked in the original funding round, some of it should be ringfenced for private testing so that games aren’t getting called off for a single case.

There seems to be a total lack of imagination or willingness to react to the situation.

Our games against Woking and Eastleigh are off. Positive tests in both their squads (I think, rather than ours, the notification wasn't that clear)

We've got no game on Saturday either so i'm just glad to be playing Weymouth tonight. There is no reason for a lack of flexibility in the scheduling, especially without fans to consider.

Every matchday now, there’s four or five teams sitting around not playing even though they’re fine to do so. When we’re worried about fixture congestion and whether we can finish the season, it’s ridiculous.

We will have now gone 2 months with only 2 games when we were due to play 13. (albeit not consecutive months)
My other team Long Eaton United are awaiting the inevitable decision by the league to cancel the 2020/21 season altogether we played 8 games!

I know Torquay fans won’t like it, but this season is a write off. Start again in August with vaccinated fans.

We deserve to go down. No complaints if it's automatic or on PPG.

According to our local paper, we’re trying to rearrange a previously postponed game for Saturday, but the opposition don’t want to. Think it has to be Yeovil from process of elimination.

Yes. I thought it may be Kings Lynn at first but we’ve just announced new dates for them in Feb/Mar

Think they’re still playing their own fixture on Saturday too.

Yeovil is due to be our next league game anyway, so it wouldn’t make that much difference. One of us will now inevitably get a case and it’ll end up being called off. I can see the small competitive reasons why they’d rather it was played then - make us travel down on a Tuesday between two weekend matches, rather than on a Saturday when we’re fresh and they’ve just had a midweek local derby - but I think we’ve all got to look at the bigger picture a bit more than that.

It's weird how some clubs are affected so much more than others, we haven't had a single game called off due to Covid. Obviously the cases are lower down here (because Devonians know how to wash their hands unlike all you northerners ;) ), but none of our opponents have had cases in the run up to our games either :dk:.

But we're more than a third of the way through the season so it seems perfectly reasonable to call it on PPG now .

Seriously though, whats stopping the season being extended if need be? Not like any of us will have any players at the Euros.

Don't see why not.
Over a million vaccinated already, 25% of over 80s who represent around 90% of mortality. If we can get the rest done by the end of the month the death rate should drop hugely by the end of February so at that point we'll be looking at getting back to normality.
I think now is the first time I've felt hopeful that I'll see a match in the flesh since it all began.
The season may be extended but I'm now really hopeful of getting down to see some matches by Easter.

I agree some games should be reshuffled if teams are free so games cancelled now can be played later in the season. Think it’s far to early to right off the season still a full 5 months left of game time, so what if some have to play on a Thursday it happens some seasons anyway. It’s not unknown for some teams to play 8 games in the last month of a season after cup runs and cancelled weather games.

Also in their thinking is their PPG - avoid playing a playoff team for now. Could be the difference between relegation at the end of the season. The league needs to step in but they won’t.

To be fair I’d have no problem with you getting promoted and League 2 relegating whoever they want to relegate by whatever means. Pissing about like we are is a joke though.

Highly doubtful.

This lot would struggle to roll out a carpet let alone a mass vaccination programme.

To be fair the organisation of the vaccinations programme is undertaken by the brilliant workers of the NHS, the government can’t get their hands on this one.

Well If that's true then let's see, but I have next to zero optimism that there'll be anything but mass chaos all year.

Even Boris has said he "hopes" to have most of the vulnerable people vaccinated by Easter so that means most of the country won't get done till the summer at least.

And that is if it all goes well which hopefully it will.

This whole country doesn’t need vaccinations, the current vaccines are not licenced for children so leave many millions out already. Prof Whitty said like the flu vaccine you only need a certain amount to have a good cover agains the virus but then did add restrictions might be likely next winter.
