Its the Wrexham camp.
We have 2 players who have tested positive, and one is taking a bit of a battering from it according to Keates. With rates as bad as they are in Wrexham, I can't see us playing any football for a while.

Stay safe everyone.

Wes Thomas is refusing to train with the rest of our squad because of Covid fears. He’s now training on his own, and presumably will be unavailable for selection for the foreseeable.

With more and more outbreaks higher up the football food chain, my pessimism for this season concluding is growing greater by the day.

The National League are in a tough position as there are maybe 20 out of 67 clubs who would be prepared to cover the cost of testing players on a weekly basis.

Is there actually any incentive for Dover to play at the moment? They’re getting dicked every week and the less games played the more likely a null and void.

seems a bit convenient they’ve only played 10 matches.

Seems like we’re heading closer and closer to what happened in March...

played 10 games because there is a virus going around you know?
only really been dicked 3 times
the long-term injured are back but problem is scoring goals
but tbh if we play the whole season I think we'll be bottom 3 with the current squad

Seems to be suggestions that he’s got a new born child who is particularly vulnerable, or something along those lines. Ardley’s said that the club fully accepts his decision and we’ve put stuff in place so he can come in and train on his own to stay fit while things are so bad, which suggests there must be something like that.

The other 47 are probably the same ones who’ve done very nicely out of the funding deal, so..

Also, none of the other Covid-free teams without a game on Saturday were willing to move a fixture forward and play us, which is ridiculous IMO.

The result of everyone moaning about the size of their payments is that the next bailout will only be a loan which will have to be repaid. Well done.

All anybody ever wanted is for their club to get funds to cover the losses from having no attendances, surely even fans of those teams whose board members have helped their clubs actually profit from this crisis would rightly be disgusted by it & calling for their resignations; and of course nobody in their right mind could possibly try and paint clubs objecting to being defrauded as them simply being petulan-

At the risk of sounding like a wet liberal snowflake, football being played doesn’t really feel right anymore, whatever the logistical problems are of playing 5th tier football during a pandemic.

No, it doesn't feel right at all. I love football, like all on here, it's not only a passion but a way of life. And, although my team are flying at the moment and on current form could be at the top of the pile come the end of the season (or damn near it) I would prefer to cancel the season right now and start again from scratch next season.

Of course I want Torquay to be back in the football league, of course I want to go and watch them home and away with the buzz of the crowd.... but, let's face it, football isn't important right now. What is important, is getting through the next couple of months, getting vaccinated, getting back to whatever the f*ck normal is these days and then re-grouping next season when we can only hope that fans can once attend matches and that me and junior can set off from home at 6am on a cold wet Saturday to drive to Hartlepool (or some other god-forsaken place up north*), watch a terrible performance and then drive home in near-silence wishing we hadn't bothered. And, yes, we'd do it again the following week.

I'm getting bored of watching live streams where the quality (and commentary) is often bloody awful. I'm getting fed up with seeing P-P next to fixtures. I've given up looking at the table and the permutations of possible results. There is no 'fun' this season. There is no point to this season.

*only kidding, fellas! (well, apart from Halifax)

Is it really that easy to arrange a match with 2 days notice?

I doubt we get everything ready that quickly to play you at Kingfield on Saturday.

Or rather the fucked up and illogical distribution model that the NL Board adopted.

I wasn’t talking about fans moaning I’m talking about the clubs that have gone public with statements and such in the media, there are ways to go about things and this all sent the wrong message of ungratefulness. I personally have said the distribution is a joke but you won’t get me calling for our owners to go they’ve saved us from going bust and are currently doing the same now and then some. Our MD had a massive campaign to get the funding in place on breakfast TV, hounding all our local MP’s etc he also sits on the top table.

The national league is and has been run absolutely atrocious for decades by dinosaurs, no surprise when you look who is around the top table. Member clubs can vote on these people each year but they all seem to get voted back in. The only way you can avoid bias is not to be here in the first place and if you do come here make sure you get someone at the top table early on or you’ll get no preference from anyone. It’s an old boys club and as a league will never move forward with these stonemason types in charge.

You don't post often enough, keep them coming.

I know what you mean, I've been disconnected from the whole thing. You'd think the streams and stuff would be a lifesaver (considering I work abroad, although at home at the minute) but it all just seems like an alternative reality when everyone has serious life problems to work through.

Not sure I want to stop the season though but totally understand your point. Hard to see how we'll get up to at least 30 games per team to PPG the hell out of it.

It would've been better to reduce the number of games as Einstein myself said at the start to combat what we're seeing, we're gonna see real bottlenecks with teams catching the virus and constant P-P everywhere. The league boards (including the FL) have no foresight but maybe they can't reduce the games due to contractual issues, who knows? We'll never be party to the decision-making.

Remember HANDS FACE SPACE STAY WITH THE VIRUS CONTROL YOUR HOME BUILD BACK BETTER and we'll all be fine.

I agree with most of that, but this season is basically a means to an end. Cancel it now (or indeed at any point) and everyone still has running costs, wages to pay etc. It’s soldiering on so that everything is still there when we can all go again.

Yep, I see that side of it too. But when you have family who have been hit hard by this (both financially and health-wise) it really hits home what is important in life.

I'd certainly have no football until next season if it meant that the majority of the footballing world would feel safe at stadiums next season.. you know, standing next each other, swearing at the ref for being a dick, packed in a shite away end, travelling home hoping that the cat is still indoors, hoping that the Ayatollah hasn't made shepherds-friggin-pie again.

I know there are jobs on the line. But when all said and done, you can start afresh with a job (no, I know it's not that easy), a football team can be rebuilt (although, I agree that some might not survive this season if it were to end now). But and the end of the day, all all of us want is our family/friends to be safe.

Of course, deep down, I want this season to continue (we all bloody do) but not at the cost of lives.

It's a shite situation we're all in, but together we will get through this.
