Chester postpone their next match rather than play behind closed doors. Can't blame them.
Did need the National League to agree to it and with them you never know. Fair play to them at least.

Got to Feb 5th before the next one. You would think Drippy will follow Sturgeon's call by then, he usually does.

He can review it any time before then.

Whether that’s true or not, they still have to be treated with all the protocols of Covid patients. And some will become ill with Covid anyway.

Are people really downplaying all this because they’re worried about whether they can go to football matches or not?

Did you get admitted for wetting the bed? It’s over this whole thing is done, barely a rise in ventilator patients despite the high case numbers of Omnicron so you can come out from your nuclear bunker and take of your hazmat suit and 3 masks.

Who does like a lockdown? I’ve been called a ‘lockdown fan’ on this thread and been told that I mustn’t have any friends but at no point have I actually said I wanted a lockdown!

The reason no further restrictions were bought in before Christmas in England were nothing to do with the science and were entirely due to political expediency. As a result people have needlessly died, been hospitalised and hospitals have been stretched beyond breaking point. Some people have tried to convince themselves that the pandemic is over, but for those on the frontline that‘s far from the case.
‘At no point have I actually said I wanted a lockdown but I complained about us not having a lockdown’

Once again, spoken like someone who has a job which doesn’t rely on everything being open for their livelihood.

You complained about mass events still being allowed over Christmas yet attended at least one yourself.

The level of debate on this thread is really fucking depressing. But I guess that’s what you get when you’re in a vacuum with no leadership coming from the top of government. It would be nice to at least see it being kept civil though.

100% agree, this coming from someone who doesn't mind a chirp if I I feel a bit strongly, but I think we can do it without all the hectoring and barracking, no one is really looking good here tbh

While I respect your point, you need to really get an understanding of where you are. High level debate on football forums are extremely rare.

Ours (red passion) is a total cesspit.

Easier to just move the border around the ground.
Easiest for the Welsh Government to just apply the sames rules to us as they have to Llanymynech Golf Club and respect the precedent they've already set.

completely different set of circumstances.

Easiest for Chester to just comply with the regulations of the country their ground sits in.

Hopefully fans are allowed back soon and it won't matter.

Just ignore the Indie Sage loon.

Still waiting for the 6000 deaths a day, must have been that Christmas lockdown they all jumped up and down for which saved us!

Remember England is doing "nothing but letting it rip". Just ignore the fact the UK has the biggest immunity wall in the world, we had one of the worlds longest and punitive lockdown, we closed schools, we were one of the few countries in the world to introduce free rapid testing, have legal rules on mandatory self isolation (and no requirement for your employer to pay you during that period), spent billions on contact tracing, mask mandates, vaccine passports. I remember when the last two measures were the darling policies and now it's 'not enough'.

COVID is transitioning to endemicity in this country, stop screaming and get on with your life. The Tories played their hand on Omicron and they've got away with it; Scotland and Wales will follow suit shortly and act like nothing happened; because as we all know it's okay to impact the lives of millions of people so long as you're 'wrong but for noble reasons'.

The South African clinicians were right about Omicron despite Western exceptionalism being determined to dismiss their findings, and yet people are still clinging onto the idea that we should embrace more restrictions over a virus which poses an individual risk level we would barely think about before COVID on a collective society where 90% of us have had a vaccine.

Really isn't. They set a precedent of treating that as one contained site, largely in Wales.

Let's be honest, they set a precedent with us last year and have gone back on that as well.

I know some people want to pretend that the stadium is entirely in Wales, but however fine the margins are, it isn't.

The stands and the stadium are wholly in Wales, with the possible exception of a sliver of the external wall. The car park isn't, admittedly. If part of the pitch or half the stands straddled the border- malang it less clear which regulations apply- then I would see the Golf course being a precedent, but it isn't. It seems to me to be a very weak argument

The outcome is going to be interesting. There are businesses on Sovereign Way that are in Flintshire whereas all their neighbours (and their access and in some instances car parking) are in Cheshire. Do they get to choose which regulations apply too?

As I say, hopefully all this is moot when fans are allowed back in soon. I certainly can't see the National Border being changed to suit Chester fc.

As I said though, however fine the margins are the whole stadium is not in Wales. The border runs past the entrance to the main stand and through the ticket office section of that stand. Because of that margin we're affiliated to the English FA and have a safety certificate issued by an English council. If the whole stadium was in Wales then those two things wouldn't be the case. A 'front door' rule should apply if there is common sense. They're happy enough to apply that in Oswestry.

The fact that the Welsh Government have no issue with us all converging in exactly the same location but a yard to the left proves that they would rather compromise health and safety to prove a political point on land that they are otherwise never arsed about and pass over to someone else to look after day to day.

Yes dude, I can see you’re so confident in your arguments you’ve got to make up shit that anyone predicted 6000 deaths a day.

Edit; just read that Sage did in fact predict up to 6,000 deaths a day. Fair enough. That was bollocks.

Jesus wept. Just walk around in your Hazmat suit for rest of your life and be done with it.

Nothing is beyond breaking point, hospitalisations haven't risen, those on ventilators haven't risen, cases are now dropping and Scotland has more cases per head than England, and they did have restrictions.

Do you just walk around with your head in the sand or something or do you not have access to the news apart from what SAGE tell you?

Well he is called "The end is nigh"!

Anyway the Government now have their own problems to sort out - not worry what everyone is doing.

Who was the Twat that decided to build the ground in Wales in the first place. There was always going to be a problem of one kind one day.

He didn’t care he had the bung in his back pocket from the retail company who bought the site.

That is just bollocks. 400 deaths a day, nearly 20,000 in hospital. But you don’t give a shit because it’s not in the Sun or your mate Kev’s Facebook page.

And what’s all this shit about haz mat suits? I think a few extra precautions or restrictions before Christmas would have been a good idea, because that’s what the experts said, not a full lockdown. Why not argue against what has actually been said, rather than the voices in your head?

Actally, scrub that, don’t bother replying, I’m worried some of the brain dead twattery of this thread might be as contagious as corona virus.
